Sorry to bring up a long-buried fight, but if Wookieepedia thinks TSLRCM doesn't fit the article citation rule *now*, there's seriously a problem.
As far as I am concerned I consider TSLRCM canon since it is the vision intended by Obsidian (or as close as it will ever be). Also as far as I know Wookieepedia has a bias against TSLRCM now correct me if I'm wrong but that is what I remember of that fight.

Thank you both for you quick reply
Do you know anything more about the Merchant Mod? For if 1.8 adds more items/loot then I have no need for it, but if not I would much appreciate it.
As well the Feat Progression Mod, do you maybe know it? I am worried that it over hit its goal, by adding to many feat points.
About the K1 mod, looks stunning, thank you. I do believe its in "testing" state currently? Will there be more since its marked as "beta"?
You should check the compatibility list for 1.8 and if the mod you are asking about isn't listed as compatible then you should ask others about compatibility before doing anything with said mod. I wouldn't be sure if those mods were compatible as I typically only play with mods that restore content (most of the time anyway).
Yeah K1R (Demo) is small demo version of a beta phase of K1R. The mod is still being made and I doubt we've really found all the cut content yet. There is no release date on version 1.0. However K1R (Demo) does restore content for Taris and Dantooine as well as a cut out difficulty option.

They lowered the max required EMS to 3100, making it much easier to achieve required EMS. Previously, it wasn't even possible with single player alone.
I know I had 3096 EMS when I survived!

Mass Effect Trilogy Marathon. In fact, the particular reason I'm replaying the entire series is because of that extended cut DLC. Would seem like a cop-out to just replay the last moments of the mission.
I'm altogether satisfied with the original ending, so in terms of game experiences, I'll always remember the first playing out with the original ending.
Maybe I'll intermittently play TSLRCM throughout the school year to prevent from being bored.
I did that when the EC came out! I tried to do a perfect playthough and I fell short of the perfect playthrough and EMS for Shepard to survive by 4 EMS. I chose the Destroy Ending and Shepard still survived! Yes apparently my Shepard is so badass that he CAN survive the destroy ending without enough EMS!

Mods I recommend.
K1

I may be biased though seeing as how I'm the one who started/leads that project.
K2
http://deadlystream.com/forum/files/file/197-tsl-restored-content-mod/
and if you are willing to switch out or have a extra computer for K2.

Apparently something blended in even more though, since no-one mentioned the real first piece of additional content, the hololog of the Droid Mechanic of Peragus... 0_0
I noticed it but yes it blended in quite well actually but then again I was actually looking for it because I saw it on the list.

*high fives everyone who contributed and worked on TSLRCM*
Excellent work my fellow beta restorers
. The completion of TSLRCM 1.8 is one for the history books and one of the very few successful beta/cut content restorations, and I surely hope that we will be able to make K1R follow in it's footsteps. I of course downloaded being the beta geek I am

Apparently can't comment here as PC-exclusive gamer...
Oh well...
That depends do you play any PC games that are also on consoles from this gen? If so you could talk about those minus mods.
The only reason PC was excluded is because PC is easily moddable and that in my opinion is a unfair advantage over the console games. I do admit I leave that little loophole though that is something is multi-platform meaning on multiple consoles or on PC and console(s) that it can be talked about.

Suppose it might help of I could manage to play Dragon Age. Seriously, I've been trying but I just keep wanting to play Mass Effect.
But all is well. Perhaps I shouldn't be too involved in this conversation anyways since most of the games I've played recently and enjoyed have been from varying generations. I've limited the games I've played for this current generation to ones I'm either interested in or I've just heard food things about them. Unfortunately, it seems I've gotten hung up on Mass Effect. But really, for a long time I was focused on KOTOR modding, which, needless to say, takes up a lot of time.
Maybe I'll catch up one of these days...
Sounds like you need to play Dragon Age: Origins, Xenoblade Chronicles, and Skyward Sword.
I mean I'm into to Mass Effect but I don't play those games as often as you do.
You better hurry up and get Xenoblade though (assuming you have a Wii or are willing to get one) seeing as how the release was pretty limited, it could very well go up in price.
Edit: Just checked Xenoblade Chronicles on Ebay and wow it's already going for $75.00 brand new (highest price I've seen and it's "Buy it now") and it's just the US version of the game by itself! Glad I got my copy shortly after it came out.
Edit2: I just checked the official website of Gamestop and it's still available to order for a reasonable price for those wanting a copy of Xenoblade Chronicles. Just wait until the Wii U comes out though and Nintendo pretty much starts ignoring the Wii. When that happens Xenoblade (US version) is going to become a lot more rare. Xenoblade is also in high demand by used game stores I had my local game store saying they were looking for it the other day but I told them I have a copy but wouldn't sell it.

Idk about a lot of games, but the best of this generation (speaking of consoles anyways) has to be Mass Effect 2.
Sure everyone shits eats and sleeps the latest COD installment, but ME2 is where it's at.
Sorry VP I'm going to have to agree with one of Kerk's points in that I think DA: O is the best of Bioware's games this gen.
However I'm going to go all controversial with my opinion (at least on a Star Wars related site anyway) that the truly best most revolutionary game of this gen is Skyward Sword. Though to me that is closely followed in awesomeness by Xenoblade Chronicles and Dragon Age: Origins.
I mean yes I love Bioware's story telling (I mean why do you think I play their games?) but no game this generation to me has been as fun as Skyward Sword. Skyward Sword gameplay wise I believe is the best this generation and while it may not have the best storyline the story is still pretty damn epic in and of itself.
TL:DR Skyward Sword is the best this gen because gameplay > story.
-
Games that in my opinion do NOT count as this gen are as follows PC or MMOs, Vita, and 3DS games because PC and MMOs transcend gens and Vita and 3DS are clearly the next gen handhelds even though we are still waiting on next gen consoles. Anyway the Wii U is going to arrive late this year so let's talk about what we love about this generation before next gen truly hits with Wii U.
For me it is as follows.
Best of Wii
The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword
Xenoblade Chronicles
Super Smash Bros. Brawl
Best of Xbox 360
Dragon Age: Origins
Mass Effect 2
Sonic Generations
Best of PS3
See Best of Xbox 360
Best of Nintendo DS
Pokemon Heart Gold & Soul Silver
Mario Kart DS
Chrono Trigger DS
Best of PSP
Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep
Your turn

It didn't work, I just tried the other disk. The set I got was part of the "Best of PC Pack", it included Battlefront, Jedi Knight 2: Jedi Outcast, and Republic Commandos on one disk. The second disk has Empire at War and Knights of the Old Republic on it.
I have the "Best of PC" edition so it is not an issue with the K1R demo. Perhaps you have a faulty disc?
-
Vanilla issues, I'll see about fixing them.
I didn't touch either Vrook or that Jedi, I'll ask ZM90.
I didn't touch Vrook or the Jedi either. The most I did was add some cut items back into footlockers and left Seamhiann's restoration of that alone.
-
I did a playthrough of the whole trilogy and while not a perfect playthrough like I had hoped for, I can report that I was able to have Shepard survive the "Destroy" ending with only 3096 total EMS which is 4 EMS below what is said to be needed. Anyway in my honest opinion the only endings a ME4 (assuming they decide to make one) can be made from are "Destroy" and the "FU Starchild" ending, although obviously the latter would have you playing as a completely different species than human.
-
I've already asked ZM90 about this. We shall see what happens.
Yeah, we'll fix that. Let's just go with your idea FG of having the PC being able to intimidate Janice Nall into giving them T3 directly after the Swoop Race so that we can still have the cut Canderous dialog while not breaking the plot of Taris.
-
Yep I actually remember piecing the dialog together myself a long time ago but it ended up broken due to a bug with KTool's dialog editor, which is why I've learned it's better to use dlg editor rather than KTool for these sort of things.

Extended Cut spoiler:
I liked how I was able to tell the Catalyst to flip off. Ending could still be way better, but expanded conversation with the StarKid helped a lot.
I may write more later. Probably after I watch other endings.
I think the EC was actually quite well done. Sure it wasn't perfect but ultimately I think it saved the Mass Effect franchise from going off the cliff that the ending debacle was making it head towards. All in all I applaud Bioware and now will be cautiously optimistic about their future as a video game development company. I saw the endings on Youtube, this makes me regret trading in my copy of ME3, I shall go rebuy it this weekend or next, and DL the EC in the meantime. -
Hi all,
Is there any chance the team could post all the restored/not restored content in a similar format to What's Restored in TSLRCM?
Edit: I found the recruitment thread and the list.
That list is incomplete and old. There will never be a complete list until all K1 cut content is found and I doubt we have found everything knowing this game.
-
Wow that is a lot of new information about Dantooine. I knew about the crystals powering the terminal but not the rest of it. We'll see what we can do.
-
I used the security console opposite the sublevel elevator in the main entrance room of the base to unlock all security doors and to deactivate the garage security systems, which opened the door to the turrets and turned them off. Are we talking about the same turrets?
The heating quest never triggered at all for me. The only evidence I found of it was the one terminal on the sublevel in the heating room that's inactive.
Okay, thanks for telling us the specific terminal. The option has been removed.
-
Was thinking of this the other day, and looking through the threads again couldn't find the answer. I remember playing through and always wondering if I was missing an encounter at the end of the Manaan race track. When you finish, Hukta Jax makes a threat about killing you. Was a potential encounter cut content, or was his threat always meant to be empty? I'm guessing it's the latter since you haven't mentioned it in removed content (unless I just missed the encounter), but thought I'd throw it up and ask.
Just checked the dlg files on Manaan and nope no encounter.

Tried it.. but no worky
Now I can't talk to Ajuur anymore!! Maybe it isn't saved game compatible that way?
However, the Pool Droid was fixed?!!? Random!
So I wonder if it was actually a weird KotoR bug that was solved when I restarted the software??
Okidoki! Got through the sublevel quest perfectly this time!
Being the XP whore that I am, the first time round I had already spliced the computer and shut down the turrets before going to the sublevel. . maybe that was why I got stuck? Will try and test further...
This time the quest worked like a charm!
I have a couple of observations:
1) I can ask the elderly mechanic about the heating when I first get to the sublevel. He has no spoken dialogue, but his text says 'there's nothing wrong with the heating' to which I can reply 'sure / um / whatevs' or something like that.
This seems a bit out of place - why would my character ask about the heating before visiting the security terminal with the passcard??
2) Killing the Ithorian in the Spice Lab. He just stands there and takes a beating!! Sure, the Ithorians are as annoying as hell - but it seems a bit out of place to kill a defenseless one on a LS runthrough!
I like the harder Vulkars. . but it does make it more obvious that this section is a mod.... just something to think about
Once again, great work!!
I'll let you know any other bugs I come across in my LS walthrough (I noticed it's now possible to access the Sith Base without T3.. so gonna give that a try and see if anything strange happens).
And I'll try and do a DS run next week
Cheers!!!!
1.) seems to me if you have a saved game before entering the Taris cantina then you can talk to Ajurr so yeah likely save game incompatibility issues.
2.) as for the mechanic having no spoken dialog it could have something to do with the installer. I'm going to check that out.
3.) regarding the ithorian perhaps having it armed would change your mind.
4.) looks like we should remove the option to splicing the computer to shut down the turrets.
Edit: Your problem with the mechanic having no VO has nothing to do with the installer. I'm going to replay the vulkar base and see if I have the same problem.
Edit2: Nope he has the VO in my game.
-
Forgot abaut one bug:
I decided to go and kill the sith and get the sith armor, however the woman in the cantina was still there. When i talked to her she gave me the quest for the party, when i got there i got another sith armor and she disappeared and the quest was still active. Atleast when i gave my sith armor i still had another one.
Most of that is something that probably wouldn't be changed except for getting rid of the quest being active since in the full version of K1R you're supposed to be able to get both sith armors. I did not expect players to be able to do that in the demo however. Don't worry it isn't game breaking as far as I know but, the quest still being active will be fixed in the full version of K1R.

Awesome! The new level to the Black Vulkar base really adds something!
Is there more to come? I couldn't get into the Control Room or one of the sleeping chambers - and I never found out if the 'heating' puzzle was active?
The enemies on the sublevel seem harder than those on the 'normal' level... did I imagine that?
Also, there is a redundant elevator in the Swoop Garage, next to the hanger. Was that ever supposed to go anywhere?
Only found a few bugs so far:
1) I too had the unable to fight Bendak bug
2) The 'Pool Droid' in the Vulkar base, no longer trundles into the pool and explodes if you repair it. Instead you get the 'this droid will engage hostiles' message
3) Civilians have a habit of attacking Black Vulkars... especially during cutscenes.. although this is rather comical, it does kill the atmosphere somewhat!
Great work team!! Will let you know anymore bugs when I get a bit further
You did not imagine that, the Vulkars in the lower level were beefed up.

I'd say they failed at getting people to "not know about it". As for them putting it in the fan wiki my reaction is "Really?" "You're really going to put Obsidian's original vision into the fan wiki?" "The original vision of the developers is practically canon and in fact I can't go back to the unfinished vision Obsidian had.".
