This looks amazing! I have one question, since this mod is not complete yet and lacks some NPC updates, can I use it in conjuction with the Ultimate Character Overhaul?

    https://www.nexusmods.com/kotor2/mods/1060

Yes. Just remember that if you install the other mod first and then my mod second, that you should overwrite any duplicate files. If you install my mod first then the other mod second, do not overwrite any duplicate files.

Unless you personally prefer the other mod's textures over mine. In that case you can pick and choose which files you would like to keep. Just keep in mind that using other textures with my models may yield some less than perfect results (in a case by case basis) since they may not be as finely tuned to any uvw fixes that I have done.

To second what @StellarExile said, I've also done it where I'll update the main download file so that new downloads are covered, but I'll also add a smaller "hotfix" download option specifically for anyone with a preexisting installation.  Same idea, but it might be slightly easier for people to find if they don't scroll far enough into the comments to see the fix.  (I think I originally saw K1CP use this method to publish important patches.)

That's what I had in mind. I was just going to wait to see if there were more files that I might need to correct. What do people think; should I make a hotfix/patch after a week or two? Or after a certain number of files?

Of course, I hope that there won't be any other erroneous files that I messed up on. With the Kreia model I had tested and took screenshots, but forgot to copy the correct mdl files from the test Override folder into the final mod folder.

If you go to file details you can upload a new version.

At this point in time, I don't want to make everyone have to re-download 2GB just to get two updated files. I'll wait until there are a lot more files (either bug fixes like P_Kreia1hBB or completely new ones that I'm currently working on) added to the 7zip file before I do a whole new version.

Fantastic work!  One thing I noticed, P_Kreia1hBB.mdl/mdx still seem to have the greenish cast from the vanilla model.  Your screenshots note this as fixed, so I presume an older version just ended up in the upload archive?

Regardless,  this is easily the best character texture upscale pack that I've seen for KOTOR.  Thank you for publishing these!

I also have this greenish tint to Kreia as well

Well, I have to apologize for that. I just checked my source files and it looks like the mdl in the uploaded zip files is an older one. The same goes for P_KreiaH.mdl (but I don't know what it is actually used for in-game). I guess I can attach the correct ones here for now.

If you uncover more errors that I made, then someday I can release a patch. Hopefully there won't be so many that it requires a full version update. I suppose it's bound to happen when there's over 1000 files to keep track of.

Maybe a site modderator has a suggestion on the best way to patch the mod?

Wow, these look really great red! Would you ever consider doing a run of the robes with the collar fix?

I'll have to check my old files. I may have already done something with a collar fix once upon a time. Maybe I can do something again but in 4x.

@redrob41: Are your Sith War Droid (C_DrdWar01 et al) model tweaks compatible with Sithspecter's High Quality Blasters mod?  I recall there were issues with the guns not being textured correctly (or at all) if certain fixes were not accounted for.

I'm not sure; I haven't tried them with the High Quality blasters installed. I suppose that my model is just as compatible or not-compatible as the vanilla model. I only re-arranged the uvw map and scaled up the main texture. I didn't do anything with the blaster texture that the model calls for. I do know that the vanilla blaster only works with the 01 droid, and none of the 02-05 versions, due to the appearance.2da being capable of calling for only one texture at a time (they end up using the C_DrdWar02-05 texture for both the droid and the blaster).

I do like the solution that they came up with for the Kotor 1 Community Patch (in theory since I haven't tried it in-game) where they removed the blaster from the C_DrdWar.mdl and make it so that it uses an equipable blaster. I assume that my 4x textures can be used with that model. My uvw fixes don't have any drastic fixes, they're almost imperceptible in-game unless you're really looking hard.

  6. Player & Party Underwear

I agree with superSzym. It sounds like there is a problem with the .utc file (since the error still happens after you've uninstalled my mod).

I do know that BaoDur will run around in my new underwear during cut scenes where he would normally be wearing his default clothes. This is because many of the .utc files for BaoDur don't have any item (.uti) files saved in his inventory slots, which means that he has no clothes equipped. The way the game is originally built, where he wears his default clothes as his "underwear", it wouldn't matter for the cut scenes, since he would appear to be wearing clothes. I would have to hunt down every .utc file for BaoDur, and make sure that he had a clothing item equipped to the inventory slot, which may cause compatibly issues with other mods that alter his .utc files.

This shouldn't be the case with Mira, since her .utc files should always have, at least, one of the g_a_clothes##.uti files saved to the inventory slot in her .utc files.

Why change all the Handmaidens' original outfits? Why not just change the underwear?

    From the mod description:

Her DS hooded clothes will now have stockings that match the new underwear skin. They are very subtle, and you might only see the difference when she is attacking (especially kicking). Her LS clothes have subtle changes, so that her outfit is much less bland and monotone. These skins should be compatible with other mods, as the uvw map is unchanged.

The short answer is "because I wanted to"  :P

If you don't want to use them, all you have to do is delete those two tga files from your override folder, or replace them with whatever other mod you choose.

    Have fun :D

To whomever reported this as broken, could you please provide more explanation? I've just re-downloaded it, and the files are set up as they are intended.

Some of the files do not require the TSLPatcher to install, as is clearly stated in the instructions:

Directions: I've separated all the different options, so that you can pick and choose (mix & match) which underwears you'd like to use.
    - For the player character and Visas, simply copy the contents of any folder into the TSL Override folder.
**** IMPORTANT **** the model in each of these directories has been customized & matched to the textures in that folder. For simplicity, please do NOT mix these up, since they may not be entirely compatible with each other.
    - For Bao Dur, Handmaiden, and Mira, you will have to run the TSLPatcher.exe file.

As you can see, the installer is only used for three characters (since they will need changes to the appearance.2da file). None of the other options require an installer, since the 2da files remain unchanged. If you don't see an installer exe, then you just have to copy and paste the mdl mdx and tga files into your Override folder.

  9. Juhani Catlike Head Mod

This file has been reported as broken because:

All attempts to download this file result in a 0-byte file, or DownThemAll complaining of "Server Error*".

I verify that downloading other files several minutes after attempting the file above, all works without Error(s).

I have re-uploaded the 7zip file, and it seems to be downloading correctly again (at least it did for me). I've updated the K1R compatibility to "Yes". There was also the interesting effect of the images re-arranging themselves (still not in the correct order, but better than it was before).

Thanks to Sith Holocron for adding the images to this page (The site where I originally had them has since gone from free to a pay site, so all my links are gone).

Now everyone can see Juhani in all her cat like glory. My favourite has always been the tiger, because of how she blends in with the dry grass of her sanctuary. I still think that Quanon's red outfit for her is one of the best I've ever seen :D and the detail on his saber hilts is always fantastic.

both head models for Bastilla and Carth are in TSL, so, as an inside joke, I used those heads because the voice actors also provide voices for important Mass Effect characters. When I do an V2 update, I'll add better screenshots.

I need to find a way to put the ROR portraits into the main game so I can use them with TSLRCM.

If you just want the portraits, then you can simply copy and paste them. If you want to use the playable heads in TSL, then see the previous post :D

Hey Riven Fall, it looks like you've used one of my files from Revenge of Revan. The PFBLAD01.tga (dancer skin) that you supplied with this mod is actually based on my file, not the original TSL file. Please remove it. Also, when taking screen shots, it is always better to not have any other mods visible (to avoid confusion). In your screen shot, you show one of my dark side underwear skins, and some people might download your mod expecting to get my underwear.

As for your work, the head looks ok. You might want to fix the iris of her eyes, so that it is in the same place (right now, it shifts around too much).

I lost my original CD for kotor 2, so i downloaded kotor 2, so, now i have to use a no-cd file to run the game....do i need the original cd to play this game?

No, you should be ok, since this is a mod of TSL, and not a new game. I use a no-cd crack (even though my TSL disks work fine, and sit on the shelf above my computer) because I don't like having my disk drive spin up for no reason. When I click on my executible, it starts up at the main screen (by-passing the launcher), and is ready to start a new game, using the RoR mod.

  15. Revenge of Revan (Demo)

       12,760    49

RoR doesn't need to be compatible with TSLRCM, since it doesn't take place in any of the same locations (or even the same story, for that matter). They should be installed into completely different folders (override/movies/modules/etc) from each other (as per the instructions) to avoid conflicting files.

I'm guessing that Canderis was pulling everyone's leg :D

Yep, that is Bao-Dur, working for the Republic, but it isn't Dxun (since RoR doesn't visit that planet).

  16. I can't choose which to use. Oh mighty redrob guide me.

I personally prefer the golden armour with the exploding star logos. This armour will also make an appearance in the Revenge of Revan.

The second armour was a quickly added on bonus (but it does look pretty cool too). If you want to stay true to canon, this one makes more sense because of the campaign guide reference image.

  17. since I don't see an edit button, I'll add this in as a new post:

The TSLPatcher will add a line to the appearance.2da, install a new .uti file, modify Bendak's .utc file, and copy the emblem armour to the override directory. To use the Campaign Guide varient, FIRST run the patcher, THEN copy the varient skin and icon .tga files to the Override directory (and over write the existing files).
