No plans for any hotfixes yet?

Issue with movies in the Kotor games.
Tricky replied to wvsnl's topic in Knights of the Old Republic General
I've had this at some point. Try uninstalling Rad Game Tools' Bink Player. Or anything else from them. -
Thanks for answering my question, Hassat.
-
I can't recall that bit, but I'm sure it was working fine.
-
Nope, nothing of the kind. The racing actually goes fine, it's just this little thing that won't register properly. I'm willing to ignore it, racing got annoyingly difficult in Kotor 2 anyway. I'll just use some cheats to add in the money I could have earned.

I don't think I've noticed any of these. Either because they weren't in my party, or because the distance between me and the rest of the party members was too great. I saw the in-cockpit cutscenes during the shuttle crashes though, that ought to be a good sign. True. I feared it was a sign that something wasn't altogether right with my installation of 1.8. Now it doesn't seem to be the case, not entirely at least. There still seem to be some bugs here and there. So far.. nothing game breaking, but enough to unsettle me.

Ah, you think so? Then I'm just going to continue on I guess. This nagging little feeling that I did something wrong is ruining the experience though.
-
That's definitely not it. I read about it in the 1.8 development thread, only a couple of months ago.

Ok, and now Bao-dur tells me I look like I've been standing too close to one of his shield generator, while I'm completely +75% lightside. I don't understand what could have gone wrong. 1st step, install the game. 2nd step, patch the game. 3rd step, install 1.8. There's not a whole lot to get wrong here!

I've been having lingering doubts on whether or not I've somehow botched my installation of 1.8. Now I found something I thought for sure to be fixed with 1.8, but isn't present at all. It's Kreia's past sequence, on Malachor V. I know it was turned into an in-game cutscene (I read about it and saw the youtube videos) but upon reaching this in 1.8, I was still presented with the old video instead. Can anyone confirm for me whether or not this was included in 1.8? BTW, the Ravager in-game cutscene early in the game worked fine, but I know it comes from an earlier patch. So something is working as intended, I'm just not sure what. Can anyone help? I need to know if I need to restart.

I downloaded the only one I could find. http://www.lucasarts.com/support/update/kotor2.html It doesn't list more. Edit: I have the 1.0b readme.txt in my directory. It's installed.

It's now actually stuck in a permanent you-didn't-finish-the-race loop.
-
I started out with a couple of (free/persuaded) practice rounds. Didn't finish. Then I manage to finish once, but the race guys tells me that I had an accident/forfeited. Then.. 5. Are you kidding me?

Ok, thanks. I can avoid the library then.

No reply topic is useless. Please delete, I'm thinking of downloading any future patches at the local library instead.

I noticed something weird that made me wonder if 1.8 was installed correctly. One of the previous patches (I only tried 1.7 before this) replaced a lot of the 'mummy corpses' in Peragus with actual human corpses wearing mining uniforms. It was a cool feature that I liked rather well. I'm about halfway through the dormitories now and it seems like were back to the regular, unrealistic mummy corpses. Haven't spotted a proper corpse anywhere so far. Was this reverted for some reason, or does it look like something went wrong during installation? I'd like to know so I can try to re-download / re-install if need be. Edit: I'm not using any mods. Not even the higher quality movie/music patches, since some people reported having problems with them in 1.8 as well.

I'm in a rather unique, severely limited internet situation right now (no, I'm not in prison.. yet.. ) I know 1.8 is essentially your 'final' patch, but it seems from a few glances at the forums that there are still some bugs left to fix. How will those fixes be made available? Will there be separate, small hotfixes to update 1.8 we can download, or will there only be a full 1.8.1? Short explanation: I moved house and my landlord and I share the same wireless hub. The connection is in-cre-di-bly bad, so I would like to avoid downloading 1.8 twice if I can help it. Small updates are okay though. I just don't want to miss out on any critical fixes.

*burps* Pass the meatsauce, tool!

I am under the impression I have read it at some point in the past. Was it there in vanilla?

You have one person too many? In my other thread I happened to talk about the lack of party members causing crashes. Perhaps the opposite is also true. Usking KSE, try to remove a person from your savegame. Maybe that will work.
-
This time I managed to 'cause' a similar bug due some mouse lag. Some of the assassins in the Dxun encampment weren't removed because I improperly left the map (normally you are turned around, but due to mouse lag I sort of jumped straight into the jungle map). Upon returning to Dxun to deal with the palace, the NPC that tells you there is a message from Tobin never gets to complete his dialogue because he runs off for battle. Talking to him again puts me way at the end of the dalogue tree and I don't get to choose a party to assault the Sith temple. Instead at the Temple I only get Atton, who is invisible. After some saving/reloading/dying I managed to make him visible again. But still, only Atton is in my party so I cheated and made him invincible, just to get through the Temple. Now, after clearing out the inner area, a mandelorian appears to take me back to my main character's efforts on Onderon. At THIS point I appear to run into the same bug ppeterok1 helped to clarify, as I don't have enough party members and the screen goes black & crashes right after the dialogue. Interesting note: I tried to use KSE to add two more party members to my save, but it forbids me from adding the 3rd party member. Probably because it mistakenly thinks the Exile is in it. Is there a way besides KSE to add the last member to my party?

Thanks, that worked beautifully. Seems like we have found a little bug indeed. I wonder if this bug happens in other situation when there are < 3 party members.
