  1. Updated to 1.0.1

    1.0.1 Update fix list:

    - Fixed the ability to remove party members from party in certain modules

    - Fixed dialogue in the 3rd recording in Tyrena station where it won't give you the updated journal entry

    - Fixed the king seeing you as a Miraluka when you're a Mirialan

    - Fixed the dialogue script typo which wouldn't set Exile as a male under canon choice

To resolve these issues for those who downloaded the earlier version, you can download newest version and run the installer which will patch over it.

But this will only affect saved games which are before these points.

  3. Revenge of Revan

    Revenge of Revan Episode 1

    -----------------------------------------------------------------
     DESCRIPTION
    -----------------------------------------------------------------

Revenge of Revan is sequel to The Knights of the Old Republic 2 (Sith Lords).

The game takes place 8 years after kotor2 where you will find the Jedi Order starting to rebuild as they find their place in the Republic that has been absent from the Jedi Order for some years.

An event on Corellia will set events in motion as you try to unravel this mystery before it's too late.

RoR is a stand alone original story that allows you, the player, to continue your saga with whatever choices you made in kotor1 and kotor2 whether you use the canon setup or your own personal version. The mod is a bridge between kotor2 and SWTOR. You will see cameos and interact with some former characters from kotor1 and kotor2, depending on your choice setup.

    -----------------------------------------------------------------
     Installation
    -----------------------------------------------------------------
First download a new kotor 2 game.
For Steam users you must make sure you unsubscribe to the Steam workshop mods since Steam will try to update your new install with these workshop mods.
Download the Revenge of Revan mod.
Use your choice of program to unzip/extract the RoR Installer folder to somewhere on your computer. Do not place it in the kotor 2 game folder.
Now open the RoR Installer folder, next Click the HoloPatcher-x64 or HoloPatcher-x86. Newer computers should use the x64.
Once clicked this will give you the Installer window.
Make sure you choose the right version of the RoR mod. Then select the location from the drop down or select a location for the mod to install to.
A pop up will ask if you want to replace TSL with RoR and simply click yes.
You have successfully installed RoR and it's ready to play.

    -----------------------------------------------------------------
     Uninstall
    -----------------------------------------------------------------
You will uninstall kotor 2 and then simply delete the kotor folder or simply select the left over folders and delete them. We are hoping to have a functional uninstaller exe soon, so you don't have to do it this way.

     FAQ
    -----------------------------------------------------------------

Q - What is Revenge of Revan (RoR)?
A - RoR is a large story mod that uses the kotor2 game and creates a sequel by moddifying the game and creating new features and physical assets for it.

Q - Does Revenge of Revan replace the main storyline/game?
A - yes the game replaces the original main storyline but there is a quick easy way to switch between the kotor2 and RoR games; described in the install section and also the install video.

Q - What are the requirements?
A -  A legal copy of Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic 2 The Sith Lords.

Q - What does 'Canon' and 'Non-Canon' mean in ROR?
A - The Canon option sets the mod to adhere to the events of the Revan novel which sets up the TOR MMO whilst the Non-Canon option sets the mod to adhere to an alternative scenario. The endings in the mod may be different depending on what option you chose.

Q - Will my choices in kotor1 and kotor2 carry over to RoR?
A -  Yes, the player will be able to decide the gender and alignment of Revan and Jedi Exile (through in-game conversation prompts), along with other choices made during that game which are given to the player as you play through the game.

Q - Will you be including the kotor2 Cut Content events/choices from TSLRCM?
A -  Yes, though they will be vague to allow players to form their own head canon. If an NPC mentions how the Exile and her companions went to Malachor, you can interpret whether that means TSLRCM is canon, if they're referring to Mira's presence in the base game, or something that happened offscreen.

Q - What if I want to play canon?
A -  The player will be given in the first dialogue with Master Drayen a chance to define the Revan/Jedi Exile gender/alignment for canon or noncanon.

    Q - How long is Episode 1?
    A -  Episode 1 is about 3 hours long.

Q - Are there new Features?
A - Yes, there are new features included into the mod as we release new episodes.

Q - When will the next episode be released?
    A - When it's ready.

Is the ship meant to be crashing into the station?

No, its just flying to the space station, just to give the scene some life. My animation skills are limited so yeah it looks like its crashing into it.

Could have the ship fly to the planet instead which would remove that confusion.

  5. Hi everyone

I'm posting this update in part to show you guys some images and  the Intro Movie/ crawler mockup.

I'm posting the mockup video in hopes to find someone who can do the real intro movie for the mod.

The mockup is done in Blender. The person could take this file and make it look better.

At the end of the video you see part of the space station break off,. There would be an explosion there.

If anyone is interested in doing the actual intro video, please contact me by DS message.

  6. Hi everyone,

Here is a quick pic of a new  Corellian  beast, which will be found in the jungles on Corellia.

    Image is attached

All thanks to Redrob41 art skills.

With the topic of Upscaling textures, ...I know Redrob41 has been doing some and some of the new characters which might be upscaled vs the vanilla.
I will need to touch base with him on the topic of how much will be upscaled.

If we do Upscale all textures for RoR there will be a discussion on wither it will be part of the initial final game/mod or as a separate optional texture mod.

I don't want to show you to much so we can surprise you all.

We are plugging away  at the mod with updates to the build every week.

Well, mods that run for over a decade or longer end up going nowhere in like 95% of cases. In fact even projects that run for "only" 5 years tend to die VERY often once the initial enthusiasm and hype expire replaced by burnout and new RL obligations.

And its one thing smaller calibre mods that fix 1-3 bugs, add a few new skins or tweak content a little bit...when compared to GIGA project stuff that adds a LOT of content like quest mods or very well developed NPCs with story/dialogues/romances mods. A smaller scope mod can still be completed even if the dev got a really busy schedule. Stuff that introduces like many hours of new content? Now that is something that only the most talented, determined, healthy, lucky modders with tons of free time (high school students, university students or super rich folks who decided to take a break) and possibly with help from other modders can hope to handle successfully. Taking on a huge quest mod for this game is undoubtedly a most hardcore undertaking.

Few modders ever announce giving up though. Eternal silence in that regard is as final a statement as it gets.

I certainly do not blame Logan since as you said its a free project and a hobby made out of nothing more than love for the game and its community.

I'm a bit of a realist though and I tend to be a bit blunt. I would suck as a diplomat lol.

Maybe it will be completed one day but I think that for now it does nothing more than add extra stress for Logan and give unneeded expectations to those who were (are) still hoping to see it one day released.

Not every project its done when its done. Some never are.

    Especially solo giga projects.

I totally understand what your saying.

I have been dealing with some real life stuff the past few months which has slowed the production to a crawl.

Things are getting better and we have decided to make some changes to help with the workflow of the project.

We were originally looking to release two planets which led to jumping back and forth from one planet content to another.

We are now looking to just release planet by planet which will help keep our self focus. Both planets are in testing and adding some missing content. I cant say when the first planet will drop.

This new change as well as others should help get planets to release and allow you guys to play it.

The project isn't dead but it has its challenges and bumps in the road.

    Thanks for your support 😃

Since nobody said no I'm just going to ask my questions

    What will episode 1 contain?

Has there been any big changes or cuts from your initial plan?

If I remember a while back you said there will be romance option who are they if they are still a thing?

Epsiode 1 contains two planets, Corellia and Nar shaddaa.

The biggest changes would be changing the pacing of the main quest a few times which can be time consuming.

Romance is planned to be in the mod but dont expect to romance like in mass effect games.

I've been waiting a long, long time. Longer than you've ever known. I played the demo, many years ago. I considered its quality to be very high.

But I will tell you this, young master Logan23, and I hope you will consider the words that I will say to you:

If you decide to give the main character a voice actor, please add an option that will disable the voice and disable the mouth movement, the same way the character in the original KOTOR games functions, while leaving all other voices enabled. I couldn't enjoy the "Mass Effect" game because the main character had a voice that couldn't be disabled except by disabling ALL voices. Your game would be more magical for me if he doesn't have a voice, while people who want it could enable it.

I am grateful to you for your dedication. I shall wait patiently.

There will be no Voice for the PC.

  11. Hi everyone,

I wanted to let you guys know we are hard at work on the mod.

I have a tutorial video on the KLE ( kotor level editor ) , where I show you how I'm placing in npcs, the dlg and the animation.

In the beginning of the video you will see the Hutt Lounge on Nar shaddaa fully populated and animated.

The tutorial is for you guys to see the inner workings of building a mod like this.

I hope the video is helpful for other modders, giving them a work flow using the KLE in their projects.

Second tutorial video is on setting up a combat level using KLE and Fair Strides's NPC Auto-Leveller 1.0.

Hello there, Sith Holocron said I should chat you up regarding dialogue writing. I did do a dialogue pack back in the Holowan Labs days on KOTOR 1. Added about 20 pages worth of (subtitle only) dialogue. Good times.  I also tended to tweak dialogue for other modders.

What kind of help do you need in that regard?

Looking for someone interested in writing dialogue for npcs.
Also looking quest writers as well.

The idea is that we would either go over an existing quest or a new one we both decide to add.

Then you would write the dialogue for the scenes while i build the quest. Once your done with the writing,.. i replace my dummy dialogue file with yours and add in the scripts, jrl entries, etc so its fully playable.

Let me know if this interests you 😃

    thanks

This looks great :) Love the video on KLE as well, it’s a great demonstration of the level editor.

I’m definitely prioritising features and bug fixes that are causing issues for RoR.

Regarding the writing workflow, I’d suggest that you use DLGEditor to create the base dialogs, and then debug them with KLE’s visual dialog editor (which should reduce the amount of time you have to hop in/out of the actual game). I’ll prioritise adding the ability to open DLG files directly (rather than loading them from a module) for this purpose, if you like.

Can’t wait to see how the project continues to develop. Great work :)

    Thanks!

  14. Hi everyone,

I know it has been a long ..long time since I last posted here.

I have been thinking about getting back into modding…

Over the past few months I have been looking over the Revenge of Revan mod and seeing if I will return to it.

Then came the new Kotor Level Editor (KLE).. which changed everything..

Also tweaked the story for the mod to help with the pacing.

I decided to return to finish Revenge of Revan.

The mod will be released in sections

There will be no human VO till after the mod is fully complete.

Using the KLE (Kotor level editor) to build the mod.

Will be looking to build a team.

I am looking for individuals to join the team - this would be for dialogue and quest writing.

The writing team members will be using the dlgeditor.

You will be adding your text in the dlg editor and once I have the file, I will add in the scripting to the dlg, for example jrl entries, LS/DS points, etc.

If your interested in joining the writing team, send me a message 😃

    Team members:

    Writer : N-DReW25

    Art: Redrob41

Also included a video showing off the new kotor editor and showing how it will help in production.
