  1. I agree. I don't really want loading screens showing me something that's not from the game.
  2. Probably it would be best for somebody to test with no other mods and with BOS:SR installed first -- I don't know that switching the install order would negatively impact K1R, but I'm also not an expert on it and it would probably be good to make sure. That said, the BOS:SR test for me was just a little side path I took since I had reached that point in my KOTOR game anyway, and I would prefer not to run another test at this time.
  3. One more slight appearance issue that I forgot about... Okay, so does that mean that there's no direct compatibility issues with K1R, then?
  4. Since I believe that nobody has yet reported whether or not BOS:SR is compatible with K1R, I decided to play through BOS to test compatibility. This test run was done on the 4 CD version of the game, on a Windows 8.1 computer. I have encountered issues before with this computer's graphics card, but I believe that I have sorted out the graphics card-based issues with those caused by other things. As far as mods, K1R version 1.0 got installed first, followed by BOS:SR and the v.1.1 patch. I also installed the following mods in my game (not sure about the order, sorry): -Extreme Conditions Combat Robes: http://deadlystream.com/forum/files/file/405-extreme-conditions-combat-robes/ -Duel Room Final: http://deadlystream.com/forum/files/file/559-duel-room-final/ -Proper Manaan Quest Endings: http://deadlystream.com/forum/files/file/557-proper-manaan-quest-endings/ -Lightsaber and Force Forms (originally v. 1.0, but v. 1.1 later installed over it -- I think): http://deadlystream.com/forum/files/file/520-lightsaber-and-force-forms/ -Tomb of Exar Kun (uninstalled before the actual playthrough, but I keep it here in case there could somehow be some effect): http://deadlystream.com/forum/files/file/587-tomb-of-exar-kun-by-deathdisco/ -K1 FP Pack by Insidious (can't find a link, sorry) So then, the burning question: are the two mods compatible? Well... There are no gameplay issues or bugs that were not present before -- only problem I encountered was the game crashing when a bunch of Brothers of Shadow exploded into existence , but on a second attempt, that was not an issue. The mod can be fully played through. However, there are a number of graphics issues that can be annoying and, in one case, make things quite frustrating for new players of the mod. These mostly came in the form of appearances being changed, as in one character (usually a character) appearing as a different one. However, since the other appearances seem to all be from BOS:SR, I'm not sure whether the problem was with K1R, another mod (if this is the case, it's probably the duel room), or simply a faulty installation of BOS:SR. I've included a full list of the appearance bugs below under spoiler tags; if you haven't played before and don't want spoilers, than don't look under them. The first spoiler tag contains the one bug that might hamper new players' gameplay, use that one if you're stuck, and it may have the answer. No matter whether these graphics bugs were caused by K1R or some other factor, BOS:SR can definitely be played through with K1R installed, and does not seem to cause any issues with K1R either. Disclaimer: I played through this mod rather hurriedly, so it is possible that I may have missed something.
  5. Compatibility test for K1R and BOS:SR finished. I'll be posting the results as soon as I can find out how to tag spoilers.

Nice! Looking forward to reading your report.

  6. Well... KOTOR2 certainly has a less straight-forward, much harder-to-understand story than KOTOR 1. I personally enjoy KOTOR 1's more, just because it doesn't make me think too hard , but I believe many people would say that KOTOR2's is much more well-written. It certainly is more complex and makes you think more. Ultimately, I think it's a matter of personal taste.
  7. Oh man... It's really impossible for me to pick one. I think I can put the KOTOR games as my top 2, but beyond that, it just depends on how I feel. At the risk of showing how incredibly un-modern my gaming tastes are, some of the ones I really like are: Civilization III Pharaoh (city-building sim) Zeus (see above) Team Fortress 2 (only recently)
  8. After playing through BOS:SR again, I'm pretty sure that datapad has been removed.
  9. Hm, interesting. If your dexterity is higher than your strength, you can look at the combat breakdown (accessible from the Messages Log found in your journal), and that might tell you if the feat is working or not. I don't have any other ideas, though.
  10. Did you do a fresh install, Captain Obvious? Do you have any other mods installed?
  11. I know that there's some feat like that that you get automatically when you get your prestige class, but I think that it was Weapon Focus: Lightsaber. Could be wrong though.
  12. I've never seen this happen. Unless this change was made with the most recent version of TSLRCM, Vash should be there, dead, as in vanilla. Edit: I looked at the changelog in the TSLRCM Readme, and it doesn't seem as though this is supposed to be an effect of the mod. I have no idea what might be causing your problem, though.
  13. Okay, then, I thought it might be from the original BOS. I'm about to play through that part, actually, so I'll be able to find out if that's still there or not.
  14. I already usually have to do the fight more than once before I succeed (although I'm on Difficult), so I would definitely be more interested in adding a new, interesting layer or two to the fight scene rather than simply increasing the difficulty. I agree about there being no assassin. My point was that assigning Sith lords the titles of different Jedi classes doesn't make the most sense.
  15. No, I've found that before, and it doesn't include the message.
  16. Those wondering about compatibility between BOS:SR and K1R, take heart! I will soon be testing and reporting on it. Most likely finished within the next week.

  17. Don't know if this is still really active, but I would be against a stat increase. That seems to me like it would just make the fight a bit more tedious, especially for somebody who likes to play with combat set to difficult. Is Nihilus having 500 extra VP or a higher chance of stunning you so that you can do nothing except stand there really a good contribution to the game? I don't think so. That said, the other ideas thrown around in this thread seem like they might be good. Having Mandalore out of the party before the actual fight especially seems like it might be cool, at any rate. Undoubtedly irrelevant at this point, but I think a comparison in terms of Marauder, Assassin, and Lord would be more appropriate for the Sith Triumvirate.
  18. Hi everybody, I'm curious to know if anybody has ever found the datapad labeled "Message from Mod Author" that is apparently in the mod Brotherhood of Shadow: Solomon's Revenge. I haven't found it myself... I only discovered it through the KSE. I suppose that it may not actually be in the mod (there's a number of other items that are obviously from it but aren't in the actual mod as well), but if it is, I'd kind of like to know where.
  19. I do have the KOTOR Collection and I have had to manually enter the registry for TSL every time I use it. But that wasn't this problem. Now, for whatever reason, the changes I make to the saves in the game's folder (i.e. saving games) don't affect those in the appdata folder, and vice versa. Fair Strides figured that out for me, so now with a bit of work I can actually change them.
  20. I'm sure posting a lot about the various issues/question I have with regard to messing around with my games. Maybe that means that I should get into modding.

  21. So, I have another question to ask of the modders around here... Would it be theoretically possible to use the soundsets from one of the KOTOR games in the other one? (E.g. move files around or whatnot so that I could use the KSE to assign the K1 PC's soundset to my K2 PC) Update (2140 EST): Fair Strides told me that this can't be talked about publicly. Sorry for polluting the forums!
  22. My computer is just really weird, I guess. Unrelated to KOTOR this time, but now VPython refuses to draw a simple sphere for me but will draw a somewhat complex ping-pong table. Go figure...

  23. I don't have the steam version, so I don't think that's it. For whatever reason, the Path finder didn't get any results for me from either game when I tried using version 3.3.7a, and when I tried selecting the installation directory manually, it said that it couldn't find any saves. 3.3.3 seems to work fine, though.
