Mod - attuning personal crystal without kreia
Markus Ramikin replied to Markus Ramikin's topic in General Discussion
Yes. It seems more than 15, a 15 Wis char couldn't get it. You probably use a > comparison so it's 16 maybe? But that's fine, 15 was a little low anyway (I forgot how powerful Valor was). -
Mod - attuning personal crystal without kreia

It works but buggily I'd fix the text problems myself but I can't seem to open it in Kotor tool... OK, minor text problems first: "Crystal is in tune with you" - did a definite article kill your parents when you were a child? [WISDOM] - should be [Wisdom], all checks in the game are like that, for instance: [Repair] That wouldn't be standard procedure in an emergency lockdown. Bigger problems: You can do it with any character. For instance I can do it as Kreia and get a neutral crystal even while I'm a LS Jedi Master. Hell, a Wisdom Upgrade and/or Master Valor and I can do it as HK-47 . Is there a possible check for this? You can do it even before having the crystal - and it gives you the crystal. I went back to a Peragus save and got it there that way. -

Mod - attuning personal crystal without kreia

This is where one of you cool people come along and say "oh that's trivially easy to do" *5 minutes pass* "here you go". *hint* -
Yeah, I can't speak for the modders but I know from experience a lot of problems with the game are temporary glitches that go away as soon as you restart the game and try the same thing again. That's irrelevant to any particular mod, including this one. And yeah saving in the middle of scripted things can sometimes cause problems.

Did you try without saving during the fight?

I don't give a damn as long as things work and we don't lose more data.

The Workbench Crystal Attunement mod is finished. With it, if you have the personal crystal, and enough Wisdom (16 or more), you can attune it yourself at a workbench, without Kreia's help. Find it in the downloads section. You will be able to choose between alternative versions: A. just adds the attunement option B. adds the attunement, and also removes the "Learn about using the workbench" option. You can also find it on Kotorfiles, here, however that download only has version A. Nevertheless, if you like the mod, feel free to follow that link and vote. Credits: - Hassat Hunter: workbench dialog structure - Markus Ramikin: conditions-checking script, writing Original post: It'd be good if the Exile didn't depend entirely on Kreia to attune his personal crystal to himself. There's something deeply unsatisfactory about it. I've tried finding something about this on Kotorfiles, but to no avail. Could one of you smart people write a mod that would allow the crystal to be attuned even after the Enclave confrontation with the Jedi Masters? Maybe even on Malachor? I'm not entirely sure how it'd work, but something simple and not altogether illogical would be nice. How about this: A workbench option would appear on all workbenches, after Kreia's becomes unresponsive because she insists we must go to Dantooine. There's a workbench on Malachor too, so that'd help... I assume all workbenches use the same dialog? Another idea: I don't know if it's possible, but it'd be really cool if instead of waiting on Kreia to become useless, this option simply had a Wisdom check. Say, 15 Wis (including bonuses, so low-Wis chars could still get it). And of course a check on whether you have the crystal. And on whether the crystal is currently unattuned. So you could approach a workbench and see: 1. [Learn about using the workbench.] 2. [use the workbench to upgrade items.] 3. [use the workbench to create or breakdown items.] 4. [Wisdom] [Attune the <Player> Crystal to yourself.] What do you guys think? And obviously, it would need to be compatible with TSLRCM. Hm, I see in the Kotor tool that the workbench is a dialog file. Would this mod conflict with the improved dialog.tlk?

So, it's still work in progress? Cool. Will it be made so the options reappear on all NPCs as soon as you learn something teach-able? It'd also be nice if, when he says "I can't use that", I could see what he's talking about. What I even tried to teach him. Or ideally, it'd be best if I couldn't try to teach him something he can't learn. It makes the player feel they've done something stupid, for no fault their own - even more a nuisance when you don't even get to know what you just tried to do.

Hm... so what INF hits exist altogether for Mandalore? +INF recover clan on Dantooine +INF recover clan on NS +INF kill Tobin -INF spare Tobin What else? And what stuff is altogether unlockable? Yeah, a large part of Mandalore influence is helping him recover Mandalorian clans from NS and Dantooine, and those are +INF hits. Therefore to allow a Lightside character to unlock his content, I think it'd make better sense to stick to +INF, but to add a hit that doesn't require a DS action to gain Mandalore's respect. For another +INF hit, I nominate the first meeting with Kavar. If you remember I already raised this in my 1.5 report. Any of your NPCs can opine on whether you should use grenades/endager civilians, and depending on your answer, some have + or - INF hits. Mandalore is one of the NPCs missing INF hits there. Like the true warrior, he says we should avoid harming non-combatants around us. I think it'd make sense if agreeing with him could earn +INF.

Yeah this looks like early content that was dropped for a reason.

This is, for instance, what happens when I try to read the thread http://www.deadlystream.com/forum/tslrcm/127-bao-durs-training-dialogues.html . Top of the page looks like this: Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STRING in /home/deadlyst/public_html/forum/includes/class_postbit.php(294) : eval()'d code on line 105 Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STRING in /home/deadlyst/public_html/forum/includes/class_postbit.php(294) : eval()'d code on line 105 Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STRING in /home/deadlyst/public_html/forum/includes/class_postbit.php(294) : eval()'d code on line 105 Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STRING in /home/deadlyst/public_html/forum/includes/class_postbit.php(294) : eval()'d code on line 105 Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STRING in /home/deadlyst/public_html/forum/includes/class_postbit.php(294) : eval()'d code on line 105 And instead of the thread, I get: Unable to add cookies, header already sent. You need to upgrade weapons at a workbench. Mandalorian chamber III, Accuracy Scope III, Pure Rylith Power Cell - and suddenly even a basic blaster rifle becomes a serious killing machine. 2 Mandalorian Rippers upgraded that way, combined with Master Sniper Shot, and HK can bring things down satisfactorily fast. The above is a universally useful setup, btw. If you wanted something specifically anti-droid, there are other upgrades. I just use this because it's good against anything. Also Droid Agrinium Armor is extremely useful even before you find the Capacitance armor. It has a 50% energy absorption, this means you last twice as long. Capacitance armor has 75% which means it lets you last 4x as long. Which makes things really easy. Oh and when you level HK-47 consider putting as many points as you can spare into into Repair. That makes your self-repairing with Construction Kits more effective.

Battle circle reward - did you guys implement it or was it in the vanilla game? I'm asking because it contradicts what the Sergeant in charge of the battle circle says if you ask him "do I get anything if I win". And I'm pretty sure I don't remember getting the reward before (though I could be misremembering)
-
Thanks. Hm, I could use to know this before I dig too deeply into Onderon. Is it possible to unlock Mandalore's options through negative influence/LS choices? Or only positive, by helping him with gathering Mandalorians, and DS choices (being ruthless with Tobin etc)?

vBulletin Message Your submission could not be processed because a security token was invalid. Any idea what's going on with that?

1. Goto's ship: The "Upgrade droid combat algorithm's" option on a console What does it do? it showed up even though neither of my party members is a droid. Bug, or something I'm not getting? 2. Mira's model while walking stealthed It used to be buggy. Did you guys fix it? or is the difference due to my different graphics card or system or something. 3. Visquis' base If you guys don't mind explaining your reasoning, I'd like to ask why the vanilla part where Mira lets the Jedi into Visquis' base was changed, so that Mira fails and Visquis has to do it himself. To me that particular bit seems less of a restoration and more of a change. It also changes the plot from advancing through the player's efforts, to something where the only reason you come out OK is because the villain is an idiot. (What's also funny is that that door will then open for the Exile. Though of course it doesn't lead anywhere). 4. * Fixed bug that would allow you to upgrade T3/HK infinite amount of time What's that about? Is it the upgrade option on Goto's ship? (Never used it before as I normally prefer to send Atton + Kreia, the two droid-haters, and have them go to town with Destroy Droid.) 5. * Fixes to Lassavou's quest * Fixes to Pylon quest * Fixed Battle of Khoonda trigger Could I please ask what was done there? I don't notice any difference at all...

I was going to ask, what teleporting thingie, as I never had any such problem in 1.5... just encountered it though. Atton gets moved to the other end of the Refugee Landing Pad as soon as he moves close to the Zhugs who show up from both sides. He also says something about needing to get back to the ship, as it's his only way off planet. The game also likes to crash after that, if I try to reload my quicksave. Why am I filled with apprehension suddenly Actually I know why. Because your record with Atris so far isn't promising. First you stuck that horrible Atris music into the first meeting with her. This was protested, so you removed it - and stuck it into that scene with her later in the game (which is still annoying; I wonder if you came to your senses by 1.6 or not - haven't got that far in my current playthrough). And if memory serves, you extended the dialogue between Atris and Kreia to the point where it's just too long. /is teh critical guy. Or maybe it's that I'm hungry atm and that makes me grouchy. Who knows.

Oh, that one I solved by just typing "kotorfiles" into Firefox. It resolved to this . Isn't technology wonderful!

I'd maaaybe get that joke if I knew what a PotD is.

Big fat posters with "HK 51 path this way" "HK 50 path that way, but you don't wanna go there"?
-
Haha, just messing, I don't have a huge problem with it, just wanted to know if this was intended. I always go to the HK-51 console first anyway, though it is good that you're fixing it. Haven't looked at what it looks like in 1.6 yet, either (I'm finishing my second planet atm). Thanks for all the work, man.

VP is part of the TSLCRM team too? I thought he was just talking about his own mods. EDIT: Oh. I didn't read that part of the readme. OK. Cancel the "hassaat". Vpuppeeeeeeeeeeet!
