Eauxps I. Fourgott 81 Posted October 4, 2015 Okay, KSE is refusing to let me edit my current saves for KOTOR2. I did a reinstall of TSL a few days ago, but no matter what I do (I even deleted the saves directory and made a new save), KSE will only show me the saves that existed before I did the reinstall. I'm using version 3.3.3 (I tried the latest version, but it won't show any of my saves for either game). Anybody have any ideas?

Squall Lionhart 81 Posted October 4, 2015 I already redownloaded the same version and immediately started it and tried again... no luck. And you said 3.3.7a wasn't helping either? strange...

Inside that should be a folder for KotOR 2... Ah, thanks. I was able to replace the saves folder there with a copy of the one from my game folder and then all was well. I'm not sure why it's not updating, though... TSL has just been a load of weirdness on this computer.

Xuul 224 Posted October 5, 2015 Kotor 2 Steam Version has some problems with your PC's registry. I am not sure if this is the issue but it fixed KSE for me. I can't recall the source of this fix but I have it here in my notes for a new guide I am starting a draft of. 1. Open regedit 2. Navigate to the following: 32 Bit Windows: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ =OR= 64 Bit Windows HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node 3. Add Key: "LucasArts" (no quotes) 4. Add Key to LucasArts Key: "KotOR2" (no quotes) 5. Add String Value to KotOR2 Key: "Path" (no quotes) with data set to "C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\Knights of the Old Republic II\" (no quotes) on 32-bit Windows, =OR= "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Knights of the Old Republic II\" on 64-bit windows. =OR= Whatever path your steamgames are installed
Fair Strides 509 Posted October 5, 2015 Kotor 2 Steam Version has some problems with your PC's registry. I am not sure if this is the issue but it fixed KSE for me. It should be noted Xuul that 3.3.6 onwards of KSE have a .ini file, and 3.3.7 and 3.3.7a use an external program called "KPF.exe" (KotOR Path Finder) to check for both disc and Steam installations (the Steam installation is found by getting the paths of all of the user's Steam libraries and checking them in-turn for the KotOR folders). It might have to do with my recent update to Windows 10 but I did actually have to do the fix that I listed a few weeks back.
Eauxps I. Fourgott 81 Posted October 5, 2015 Kotor 2 Steam Version has some problems with your PC's registry. I am not sure if this is the issue but it fixed KSE for me. I don't have the steam version, so I don't think that's it. For whatever reason, the Path finder didn't get any results for me from either game when I tried using version 3.3.7a, and when I tried selecting the installation directory manually, it said that it couldn't find any saves. 3.3.3 seems to work fine, though. LiliArch 115 Posted October 6, 2015 Do you have a KotOR Collection, then? It adds the registry entry for only one of the two games, though I can't remember if it was K1 or TSL. Had to modify the registry manually for the another one.
Eauxps I. Fourgott 81 Posted October 6, 2015 Do you have a KotOR Collection, then? It adds the registry entry for only one of the two games, though I can't remember if it was K1 or TSL. Had to modify the registry manually for the another one. I do have the KOTOR Collection and I have had to manually enter the registry for TSL every time I use it. But that wasn't this problem. Now, for whatever reason, the changes I make to the saves in the game's folder (i.e. saving games) don't affect those in the appdata folder, and vice versa. Fair Strides figured that out for me, so now with a bit of work I can actually change them.
Squall Lionhart 81 Posted October 7, 2015 Mine works fine now, so I have no idea what in the hell is causing it.
