Flurp Sensei 0 Posted May 27, 2015 Hi guys, I'm currently running TSLRCM 1.8.3b on Windows 8.1 x64, Steam copy of TSL (installed TSLRCM freshly on top of the game. In fact, right after Steam was done downloading the game, I went ahead and installed. So yeah, as "fresh" as it gets). I have also not used any cheats or savegames/savegame editors. I have this issue where whenever I reach Loppak Slusk in the Bumani Exchange area of Telos, my game crashes with the error "The Instruction at 0x006f1645 referenced memory at 0x00000000. The memory could not be read. Click OK to terminate the program." Of course, I have no choice but to click OK in that case as the game hangs up otherwise. TWO things trigger this error: 1.) I mention coming on behalf of the Ithorians as my first dialogue option. 2.) When I have to brawl with the mercenaries (Benok and the lot) present in his room (after NOT picking the Ithorian option), killing that one dude who's of the species that the Black Vulcan gang is mainly composed of (KOTOR1) causes the game to crash. Could this be a TSLRCM issue, or could it be a mod I'm using that's causing it? The only mod in this case that may be causing some sort of conflict is the NPC Overhaul mod (http://deadlystream.com/forum/files/file/345-tsl-npc-overhaul-mod/). I am using a myriad of other mods as well (which would take quite a while to list). However, most of them are character specific and don't really apply to the crashing scenario... Therefore, the only mod I can currently point my finger at is the aforementioned mod. I tried every fix in the book but nothing has been working. Disabling Vortex Buffer Objects, enabling V-Sync, Mss32.dll replace, disabling shadows and grass etc etc. Using the above fixes allows me to play this game to begin with (as they did with KOTOR1), but this issue is strange and definitely is something unique as there are two specific triggers for it. I did try reinstalling the mod's files for every area on Telos (the mod comes with an installer, not files to replace in the Override folder). I Also tried compatibility mode, Run as Administrator etc. Like I mentioned before, nearly every fix in the book... Thanks in advance for any help you guys can offer! Anyways, the posts from the other thread: As far as I can tell it is likely some sort of mod error as opposed to something to do with hardware or settings. I am not a mod author who is in any way affiliated with the actual TSLRCM project itself. Please read this post- http://deadlystream.com/forum/topic/2390-read-me-second-information-for-those-posting-errors-glitches/ Give the forums a quick search for anyone who had/has the same problem. Flurp Sensei 0 Posted May 28, 2015 Just a surface observation: This is a KotOR mod, not a TSL mod. Sandpeople Disguise Drop Fix http://www.nexusmods...kotor/mods/51/? I see. However, this mod hasn't caused any problems before the specific crash throughout the game. Therefore, I don't think it comes into play in that specific area anyway. Since this mod only adds .utc files to your override folder that aren't even used by TSL, I can hardly imagine it having any effect (positive or negative) on your game. But you can uninstall it anyway, simply because it won't do anything^^

It seems to be the best bet considering I'm getting little to no input otherwise (not blaming members for not knowing; this a rather strange issue indeed). Flurp Sensei 0 Posted May 29, 2015 Reply from Kainzorus Prime: The mod hasn't been updated to incorporate 1.8.3b, so it might be the cause. If they updated anything in the Exchange suites, there are possible conflicts. Welp, I guess my assumption was correct. Anybody have an idea of how I'll go about uninstalling the parts of the mod affecting Telos NPCs if I don't have a backup? Hassat Hunter 571 Posted May 30, 2015 That module wasn't updated. The alien being invisible and crashing upon being selected WAS an error with older versions of the NPC Overhaul Mod, so it might just be you ran an older version of that mod rather than it's most recent release. Kainzorus Prime 206 Posted May 30, 2015 This narrows things down. I will have a look at this, but I'm kinda baffled, since I never had a single crash in that module. And I'm running a ton of other mods apart from RCM and Overhaul too.

Well, this error really doesn't have anything to do with an invisible alien causing a crash to occur when selected. Also, I believe I downloaded the latest one as I got it off DeadlyStream about 2 1/2 weeks ago.
Flurp Sensei 0 Posted June 1, 2015 Just thought I'd let you guys know that by uninstalling TSLRCM, deleting all my mods from the Override folder, starting a new game, and reinstalling them all again and NOT picking the Telos Exchange Office option in the NPC Overhaul mod, I managed to get past the part where the crash occurred. So, it turns out it was Kainzorus Prime's mod causing the crash. However, thanks to KP's generous help and great attitude, I was able to resolve the issue. Just take note, in case anyone else experiences this issue, that you will have to have a save file BEFORE entering the Exchange Office. Otherwise, according to KP, the glitch is already stuck in the game's memory. Since I did not have such a save file, I had to start a new game. No worries at all, however, since it led to everything working out. I'll play through the whole game and inform KP of any other crashes that may occur due to his mod so in case he wishes to update it, he'll have all the areas needing updates already pinned down. Hassat Hunter 571 Posted June 3, 2015 (edited) Do you still have a save from before entering and re-installed the module to make absolutely sure it's that mod alone? EDIT: Took a look at the files, can't instantly see any issue, aside from KP having used KOTORTool to extract and edit them (nooooooooooooooo says the inside HH), making this mod give all kind of english names to non-english users, and potentially dropping stuff they should not have :/ Edited June 3, 2015 by Hassat Hunter

Also, in case anyone is interested, the mod also crashes the game when you kill the rightmost grenadier bounty hunter at Onderon/Iziz West Square (right after you enter the West Square, you are confronted by the bounty hunters). Just one of the other locations I've noted so far as I continue to play through the game. Just for funsies, I don't know if this has anything to do with KP's mod, but speaking of weird loot, I found Darth Malak's armor in a Plasteel Cylinder in Dantooine. I believe, though, that it may just be random chance.

Kainzorus Prime 206 Posted June 8, 2015 potentially dropping stuff they should not have :/ Lies and fallacies. Item drops were the very first things I've fixed with this mod, so the enemies wouldn't drop their entire inventory when they die.
Flurp Sensei 0 Posted June 14, 2015 Got done playing the game about 3-4 days ago. I can confirm that the Telos Exchange Office area that I detailed in my first post and the Onderon/Iziz West Square mercenary encounter (which I also detailed in a previous post) are the only areas where the game crashes due to the NPC Overhaul mod but works fine after I restore the backed up original files for those specific areas. Hassat Hunter 571 Posted June 22, 2015 At the risk of highjacking the conversation, what would be your preferred method of editing UTCs for those of us who use a lot of UTC files in our mods?Extract them with ERFEdit and then modify them with KGFF. Looking them up with KOTORTool is fine, and also modifying inventories needs to be done by it, though saving it as alternative file, then copying over the contents of the inventory (and only that) over to the original file, modifying the droppable accordingly afterwards.Lies and fallacies. Item drops were the very first things I've fixed with this mod, so the enemies wouldn't drop their entire inventory when they die.I've only checked a few 208TEL files, but with most all their wearable items were indeed set as droppable.
