Equinox 0 Posted January 2, 2015 So, after being unable to advance in the game due to bugs, I decided to download this mod. I followed the instructions, making sure to download and install the main mod, then getting the patch. I would like to note that, when I activated the mod DLC, it automatically installed it. Anyways, after doing so, I started up the game WITHOUT LETTING IT UPDATE. I got to the title screen and decided to load a save. Then it crashed. I load other saves. They crash. I make a new game, it crashes as soon as it finishes loading. So, I look back and see that it says that you CANNOT install into the "Override" folder. I looked at this while confused, because the .exe automatically installed it without letting me choose what directory to install too. So, I fear that it DID install into the override folder. But I can never be sure. So, How do I change the directory it installs to? What directory DO I install it too? Since I already installed it wrong, do I need to re-install KOTOR 2? UPDATE: Here is the format. 1) When did the problem begin to occur? Right after I tried to load a game.2) Did you install the latest version of the mod? Yes.3) What version of the game do you have? (Steam, 4CD, KotOR Collection?) What region is the game designed for if it's the 4 CD version? Steam.4) Did you update your game as required by your game's region? (Updates are included in the Steam version. Skip this question if you are using that.) Yes.5) Did you install this over the previous version(s), or did you perform a fresh installation as required by the TSLRCM's read-me file?I performed the fresh installation.6) Did you use the TSLPatcher, if provided? Yes.7) Were there any errors in the TSLPatcher installation? No, at least it didn't notify me of any errors.8) What other mods have you installed? Please give an accurate list and provide links to each of these mods - even if they are found on this site. (We don't actually know them all!.) I have installed no other mods.9) Can you be more specific about the error? At what point did it happen? It happened as soon as it completed loading a game, whether it be a saved game or a new game.10) Have you tried re-downloading the mod? No.11) Have you tried using a different save game? Yes.12) Have you tried starting a new game? Yes.13) What Operating System do you use? (List Virtual Machines as well if you are using them.) Windows 7. Circa 40 Posted January 2, 2015 I think that meant not to install to the Override manually, and let the installer take care of it for you. But I could be wrong.
Sith Holocron 2,478 Posted January 2, 2015 Could you post the questions and your answers to them from this thread into this current one we're in?
Equinox 0 Posted January 2, 2015 Updated with the right format. Sorry for not using it.
Hassat Hunter 571 Posted January 2, 2015 It doesn't automatically install... you *need* to pick an install-location, and a language...
Equinox 0 Posted January 2, 2015 It doesn't automatically install... you *need* to pick an install-location, and a language... Ah! I almost forgot... When installing, there was never a prompt to switch the install location and such, it just immediately installed it. How would I go about changing the directory and such? Equinox 0 Posted January 4, 2015 Bumb. Sorry, it's just that my KOTOR 2 is unplayable at the moment and I really need a fix. I don't mean to sound needy or rude.
Hassat Hunter 571 Posted January 6, 2015 Where did you get the install from? As I said, after running the .exe you get to pick a language and install location... :/
Equinox 0 Posted January 12, 2015 Where did you get the install from? As I said, after running the .exe you get to pick a language and install location... :/ I got it directly from ModDB. I COULD try and redownload KOTOR 2 and re-install from this site, but I want to find a fix before I start on a long, boring process of re-download. Sith Holocron 2,478 Posted January 12, 2015 Rereading the thread, I have a question. Are you using saves from before you installed TSLRCM?
Equinox 0 Posted January 12, 2015 Rereading the thread, I have a question. Are you using saves from before you installed TSLRCM? Yes, however, upon starting a new game, the same problem occurred, so I don't believe that it is the saves themselves unless you say otherwise.
Sanity1015 0 Posted January 15, 2015 I had this same problem when starting a new game (I had no saves to load so I don't know if this will fix your loading issue as well.) So I found on the steam forums a fix; you have to turn frame buffer effects off in graphics options-> advanced options. Apparently there can be conflicts when it switches between game and video. The above fixed mine, hopefully it will fix yours as well Equinox!
Equinox 0 Posted January 17, 2015 UPDATE! Thanks to Sanity, I was able to actual load and play the game at the most recent autosave right before the game breaking glitch in the original post. However, the glitch happened again. Basically, after you enter the Telos academy, they tell you to lay down your weapons. However, after choosing to do so, nothing happens and you just continue on like nothing happened. Making it unplayable. This is the initial reason why I installed the mod. Anyways, starting the game possible now. The next problem is getting the mod to install correctly. I would like to note that it does NOT say "Sith Lords Restored Content" at title screen. It's like the mod wasn't even installed. I suspect a directory location problem since it never gave me the option of picking the directory in install. I downloaded from Mod DB, my final course of action is to re-install KOTOR 2 and then download from this site instead of ModDB. Again however, this is a final step and I would like to find a fix before anything else. Any further help?
Hassat Hunter 571 Posted January 17, 2015 It doesn't pick a location automatically, even if you have a registry entry... so either 1) You downloaded the wrong file ... Eh, yeah, that's about the only thing I can think of right now what might be the cause :/
LiliArch 115 Posted January 19, 2015 Maybe "download aborted prematurely, installation done with only partial installer"?
lonewolfgk 0 Posted February 7, 2015 Hi Hassat, i would first like to thank you and your team for this restoration Mod. Great job. I just have a question about the installation of TSLRCM: I installed TSLRCM v1.8.3 a few days ago with the M478EP11 (v1.1) mod, now i see you have v1.8.3b and v1.1b on your website, i downloaded both these new files since i did not see a patch from v1.8.3 to v1.8.3b. 1. Now, should i first uninstall both mods and then reinstall them again? 2. Or can i just install the mods again (basically over the previous version)? 3. Or should i uninstall the mods and the game and reinstall everything again? 4. How do i know v1.8.3b is installed because the main menu still says v1.8.3 even after installing the new version. 5. Also is v1.8.3b supposed to fix the swoop racing on Telos where your swoop is just hanging in the air? Because if so then it did NOT fix it. My swoop racer still hanging in the air even with v1.8.3b. Does anyone know how to fix the damn swoop racing where swoop is hanging in the air? Thanks
