Game/Audio stutter after 1.5hr gameplay session

I'm having an issue where the game slowly starts to stutter, along with the audio crackling, after about an hour and a half of gameplay.
It's happened 3 times now, always right around 1.5 hours.

The only thing that fixes it is restarting my whole system.
I was hoping anyone had a permanent fix for this.
