  1. Check out the next phase of Hollywood's War on the Internet http://www.tomsguide.com/us/RIAA-copyright-cops-Anonymous-Time-Warner-Comcast,news-14459.html

  2. Read the link here http://www.tomsguide.com/us/RIAA-copyright-cops-Anonymous-Time-Warner-Comcast,news-14459.html Scary stuff. What can you do to protect your privacy (this is perfectly legal btw)? You can download the TOR browser, a VPN, and use proxies. I recommend as many layers of security as possible if your ISP starts harassing you over downloads in the next few months even if your downloads are perfectly legal. Protect your anonymity online and have a good day!
  3. I wouldn't rule out the Warden going through the mirror and then finding a way to travel between Fereldan and whatever that place is and since my Warden went through the mirror that has to happen for my warden (though not every one else's). Morrigan may say that it's impossible to leave but, you never know as when the PC and party gets trapped in the fade the PC is told "it's impossible to leave" so Morrigan may not know the place completely and there could be a way out, I wouldn't doubt it. I think that Bioware was pretty much leaving things up to the player's imagination. I still wonder what exactly that place is though. Hopefully we get to actually visit it for real in Dragon Age III.
  4. I don't often play as a Warrior or Rogue but, when I do I make sure to romance Leliana. I think that Morrigan has the most character development of all the DA:O characters, of course that is debatable but, it's my opinion.
  5. My mage warden already did ;p. Joking aside I think Morrigan's problem is that she was raised to be practical by Flemeth which doesn't make her necessarily evil she just tends to suggest what is easiest for the Warden to do like not helping Redcliffe (I always help Redcliffe regardless of what she says) also she's so anti-social because she was raised in the wilds and normally her only companions besides Flemeth were the animals themselves. You can see how she doesn't know that much of the world outside when she falls in love with the warden and is afraid of her feelings and being taught by Flemeth that it would weaken her. So basically she's the way she is because 1. Flemeth and 2. raised in the wilds. I like to think that by the end of Witch Hunt when my mage warden goes with her that Morrigan grew and doesn't have some of the sentiments she used to have which Flemeth imparted upon her. So I don't blame Morrigan for the way she is, I blame Flemeth and kill Flemeth too (until she comes back in DA II that is).
  6. The silent protagonist thing doesn't really bug me but, if you've noticed I play a lot of Zelda, KotOR, and Dragon Age so I don't mind it and I think it works better in some games (Zelda for example). Although if you want Dragon Age with a voiced protagonist play Dragon Age II. Dragon Age: Origins is much better but, Dragon Age II is still a good game.
  7. In my opinion a rebellious mage warden that falls in love with Morrigan, performs the ritual, puts Alistair on the throne, and goes with Morrigan at the end of Witch Hunt makes the most sense story wise when you consider all of the DLC. I really hate the Chantry and Templars for the mistreatment and fear of mages which is why I typically play as a mage so I can have a good reason to say "screw you!" to the Chantry and Templars. I also enjoy annoying/picking on Alistair, that's always fun to do .
  8. Yeah DA:O is one of the only modern games that I feel has some difficulty to it, the other one I feel has some difficulty to it is Zelda: Skyward Sword with it's Hero Mode and Ocarina of Time 3D with it's Mirrored Master Quest (but, OoT is from the 90s anyway, late 90s but, still ). 90s ftw! Although there are a few games from the late 2000s (2006 to 2009) and 2010s (2010s cover 2010 - 2012) Here is a list of them. Super Mario Galaxy (2007) Dragon Age: Origins (2009) Super Mario Galaxy 2 (2010) The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D Master Quest (2011) The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword (2011) Dark Souls (2011) I think that might be it maybe let me know if you think of more.
  9. Do your first playthrough without mods as to me discovering what is possible within the initial game is a great experience but, you should try to get Awakening and all of the DLC to flesh out your adventure more. The chronological order by the way is.... Leliana's Song > Dragon Age: Origins > Awakening > Golemns > Witchhunt or Dragon Age: Origins (with Leliana's Song when Leliana tells you that specific story) > Awakening > Golemns > Witchhunt Darkspawn chronicles is like a alt. ending to the main game so I recommend you play that after beating the main game.
  10. I see it like this. Leliana's Song/DA:O/Return to Ostagar/The Stone Prisoner/Warden's Keep/Feastday = 1/3 of the full game. Awakening = 1/3 of the full game. Golemns/Witchhunt = The finale. Darkspawn Chronicles = Alt. Universe where the Darkspawn win. Yes I agree with you that DLC is a double edged sword as it can encourage developers to not release the full game but, at the same time it can add to an already existing full game. I think that DA:O without DLC is almost on par with KotOR (KotOR only beats the initial game by a bit imo) and that the game itself was full enough to be considered a finished game, the DLC just made the game even more jam packed with content. I think if KotOR had DLC it would beat Dragon Age: Origins. That being said I love both games, my preference for Dragon Age: Origins mainly has to do with how fleshed out the expansion and DLC makes the game.

    Hello ^^

There's a Chrono Trigger port for PS1 if I'm not mistaken, it's also available on the DS. I remember I didn't get Chrono Trigger until it came out on the DS with all that extra content but, I was hooked when I got it. It's one of the best JRPGs I've ever played and so is it's sequel Chrono Cross which is on the PS1.
  12. If we were to argue main game only I'd agree with you but, I think arguing Origins + Awakening + all of the DLC puts DA:O over the top against KotOR imo. We also know KotOR doesn't have the advantage of a expansion pack or DLC but, DA:O does.
  13. Pretty much sums it up except that there is evidence EA rushed Bioware on more than one game which makes EA's record doing that sort of thing worse than what LA did with K2 (although what LA did was still pretty bad). I still see DA: II (although a good game) as a prime example of what happens when Bioware has EA breathing down their necks. You can obviously tell DA: II was rushed by the constant reusing of dungeon models and a story that needed fleshed out more.
  14. I haven't played Mass Effect 3 and won't until April but, I know EA has a history of ruining companies they buy out. I feel sorry for Bioware the creator of Dragon Age: Origins and Star Wars: KotOR two of the best RPGs to ever exist. I don't have any sympathy for EA since they are ruining Bioware though. I wish Bioware hadn't been bought I mean imagine how awesome Dragon Age II would have been if they hadn't of had EA breathing down their necks as that game just screams "rushed by EA!". Bioware makes amazing games but, as I've said it doesn't help when you have a major publisher breathing down your neck constantly telling you to get the game out now.

    Hello ^^

That was my first thought as well but, you know what they say VP great minds, cut from the same cloth, birds of a feather, ect.

    Hello ^^

Then we'll get along pretty well I think. Your username seems familiar I wonder if I had seen you around any part of the Zelda community. I have a thread about the E3 Spirit Tracks Demo/prerelease prototype I bought off of Ebay, a entire forum of my team and I's K1 restoration project, and a thread dedicated to Dragon Age: Origins. You should check those out. Oh and welcome .
  17. Dragon Age: Origins is an awesome game and since it's an awesome game we obviously need a thread discussing it. I play as a Chaotic Neutral Mage, I hate the Chantry and I want what is best for the advancement of the mages. I believe in destroying anything that tries to stand in the way of freedom for the mages no matter if my actions are considered good or evil. I also romance Morrigan. Now discuss Dragon Age: Origins!
  18. Taris Lower City almost done. I'm replaying Dragon Age: Origins though, I can't help myself I think DA:O is the best western RPG I ever played.

Fun Fact: I typically play as a rebellious mage with hatred for the Chantry, wishing to free all magic users and of course romancing Morrigan, the only path that makes sense to me with all the DLC :P.

I was thinking about playing DA:O again, too :)

I have DA:O on both X360 and PS3. Why? So I can have more save files since the amount they normally limit you to isn't enough in my opinion. The save files need to be limited to the amount of memory you have like in KotOR instead of a arbitrary number.

  19. Have you played Skyward Sword? That game is amazing, it overtook OoT as my favorite Zelda game when I beat it. Yes, Skyward Sword does have it's flaws but, truth be told all games are flawed in some way or another there is no such thing as a perfect game. My top 5 Zelda games are as follows 1. Skyward Sword 2. Ocarina of Time 3. Majora's Mask 4. A Link to the Past 5. The Wind Waker By the way Hero mode in Skyward Sword and Mirrored Master Quest in OoT 3D are awesome! I love me some second quest action in Zelda here's hoping it continues in future games.
  20. Excellent I just received a email saying the Spirit Tracks prototype has been shipped. It's on it's way to the USA all the way from Hong Kong . It'll be a while before I receive the game but, it will be totally worth the wait.
  21. What do you think of when you hear the term "beta community"? If you think of a bunch of geeks who are a small part of the gaming community that have interest in the collection and preservation of prototypes by almost any means necessary and the documentation of alpha and beta content then you would be correct. In this blog I will try to explain why the beta community needs the modding community and why the modding community needs the beta community. While the beta community will by any means necessary obtain prototypes and dump them into ROM or ISO formats to preserve and share them with the public there are times when such a thing is not possible such a example is I just bought the Spirit Tracks E3 beta cart on Ebay but, yet I cannot dump it or another example is well if the prototype is impossible to obtain. What do you do whenever you cannot obtain or preserve a prototype? The answer to that question is a very simple one, you turn to the modding community to preserve what can possibly be preserved within the final game itself. Two examples here on Deadly Stream of that in action are TSLRCM and K1R. So you are probably saying "It sounds like the beta community needs the modding community more than the modding community needs the beta community." to which I say "not true my friend." and I will explain why. First of all what do you think gins up interest in modding a game? If you answered "beta content" you would be correct, you have to look no further than years ago whenever TSLRP was started by Team Gizka. Due to that project we modders got some awesome tools and interest in modding TSL greatly rose. Another thing that helps is that the beta community may be a tiny blip on the huge map of people that is the entire gaming community but, I have never seen such a passionate group of people as the people in the beta community, well except maybe modders. So as you can see the modding communities and beta community share a mutual interest, a mutual partnership, and a mutual respect and as the communities go forward together in this partnership to the future I am sure we will see as much content preserved and protected as possible. Disclaimer: I will not link to ROMs or ISOs on this site or in PM on this site so don't ask me about those as I respect the owner of this site and the rules of this site, thanks for understanding.
  22. Bought a rare E3 prototype of The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks and I'm grinning ear to ear over it :D. Still participating in #OpBlackMarch as Nintendo gains no profit from my purchase of the prototype and I haven't bought a single new game, movie, music CD, or torrented any. The only exception was the prototype due to rarity and it's used so as I said no profit for Nintendo anyway.

In April since no #OpBlackMarch will be going on I will then buy Mass Effect 3 and preorder Xenoblade Chronicles and The Last Story. Who here thinks I should start a video game prototype collection?

  23. http://www.ebay.com....ME:L:OC:US:3160 As a Zelda fan this makes me happy, as a collector of rare video games this makes me happy, and as a beta geek (loves beta, cut content, and prototypes) this makes me happy. I just had to share . Edit: I still consider myself a participant of #OpBlackMarch I just couldn't pass this prototype up and besides companies do not profit off of used games or protos. I still haven't bought a new game, movie, music, or seen a movie in theaters this month and I won't.
  24. Here's a small update to help tide everyone over in video form (I hope you don't mind me using this video Fallen Guardian). It's something I tried myself (Mandalore also tried it) but, I could never get it right but, Fallen Guardian was able to do it. It's some restored Zaerdra dialog (you can go ahead and unlist the video if you would like FG). http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UKhrOSobeSc&feature=player_embedded Now why would I want to tide all of you over with an update of sorts? Because there's something big now in the works, just letting you know K1R is still alive guys. I don't quite want to tell you guys what that big thing is yet but, trust me it'll be good and you will love it!
  25. Possibly, we are a rare breed around the KotOR community indeed. We both like restoring beta content in the KotOR games (KotOR for me and TSL for you) but, despite KotOR being one of our interests we have many other interests as well and very similar ones at that.
