[KOTOR] Achievements Mod Using Journal
mrfarenhiet replied to mrfarenhiet's topic in General Kotor/TSL Modding
Gotcha. On a related note, do you know if there's a way to implement a new game plus mode? I think this would go along well with that, particularly with the bonuses. It would be a great way to experience the Impossible difficulty added by Kotor Restoration.- 9 replies

[KOTOR] Achievements Mod Using Journal
mrfarenhiet replied to mrfarenhiet's topic in General Kotor/TSL Modding
Awesome! Thanks for the reply. It's good to know it's at least possible. Any idea how you could distinguish the achievement entries without a separate screen? Perhaps a different format for the entry text or background? As an alternative, It would be interesting to perhaps create a terminal on the Ebon Hawk where you could view acquired achievements and their respective bonuses...or maybe a hybrid of the two ideas. Maybe use the journal for the popup and general "You have earned an achievement," message, but store most of the info in the terminal.- 9 replies

Hi folks. As we all know, The Sith Lords got an update a while back that implemented several fixes along with achievements. Browsing this forum and others, it's quite apparent that most fans would love to see the same sort of update for the original game. Due to whatever legal hold up, this doesn't appear to be in the immediate future. Which got me thinking...would it be possible to implement achievements in-game using the journal system? Like normal achievements, they would be tied to events and accomplishments in game. Instead of a pop-up, however, you would receive a special journal update. It would be interesting if you could implement some sort of in game bonus upon the completion of certain achievements, similar to the original Mass Effect. Obviously, an additional screen within the journal just for achievements would be ideal. I'm not well versed on the intricacies of modding this fine game yet, so I have no idea if this would be possible. Beyond the obvious level and milestone based, what achievements would you like to see if this idea were implemented?

Reading back over the past pages of this thread, it's fascinating to see how far this project has come! Thank you Sithspecter and Fair Strides for all the great work you've put in on what looks to be a fully realized part of the overall game once completed. Really looking forward to further updates and of course, the finished expansion. Keep it up, my friends!

Question Concerning Griff Bug
mrfarenhiet replied to mrfarenhiet's topic in Knights of the Old Republic General
Thanks for the replies my friends. I reached out to the mod author on reddit and it appears he's forgotten what he knew in regards to KOTOR modding. For the time being, I suppose I'll put this one to the side. It would be great to see a redux version of this, or a similarly inspired mod. I thought it was well integrated for the most part. -
Hey folks. I'm hoping someone here might know how to fix the problem I've run in to. I know the bug where Mission's brother Griff doesn't appear is common and is usually solved by using the save game editor. However, I've tried this to no avail. I can't get Griff to spawn in the Tusken Raider village, the spaceport, or the Czerka office. I believe this has something to do with the Tatooine Jobs Office mod I have that adds a jawa quest giver to the building. Have any of you encountered this bug while playing with this mod? If so, how did you resolve it? Thanks in advance for any replies. This is the mod in question: http://deadlystream.com/forum/files/file/34-tatooine-job-office/

Strange Reflection/Lighting Bug
mrfarenhiet replied to mrfarenhiet's topic in Knights of the Old Republic General
I removed the CM_Baremetal and the problem was resolved! Thank you all for your help. On a related note, is there a way to fix the alpha channel translucent texture issue caused by the grass fix without manually removing the channel from each texture respectively?- 4 replies

Hey guys. I'm experiencing a bug where a "highlight" type effect can been seen moving across textures, mainly the floor, when my character is moving. I've also noticed that the Sith Troopers don't look quite right; instead of black visors, their entire surface is similarly chrome. My game is heavily modded, so I'm not sure exactly what has caused this. I've played for around 11 hours on this save without experiencing this issue. I completely reinstalled and started adding mods from scratch trying to fix a dialogue/power description bug, only to be greeted with this upon reentry to the game. It's not as blatant as flashing/missing textures, but it's quite annoying. If you can help point me in the right direction as far as troubleshooting, I would greatly appreciate it. I don't think the bug will show up prominently in a still image, but I can provide screenshots if necessary.

Gotcha. The link sounds great. When you have the time to make the tool, that would be awesome as well.

I appreciate the replies. What would be the best way to go about editing the file (I'm new to this type)? Would I need to convert it to a different type, or use a mod tool? I should note that I have been manually installing through the Override folder, or using TSL patcher when included.

Hi folks. I've been a fan of the Kotor games for years, having played them on the original xbox. I've attempted to play them on the pc in the past, but was set back by one thing or another. Flashfoward to today. I've recently dove in headfirst into the modding of the game, attempting to learn and pass on all I can. My question is, can you merge dialogue.tlk files? A specific example would be combining the features of Shem's Dialogue Fix with say, Player Character Response fix. I also suspect I'm having issues with the Added Force Powers for this reason. Instead of the actual descriptions showing for the powers, I'm getting random dialogue. Thank you in advance for any help.
