    Trying to create an alpha layer so I can get a slight shine effect for the star forge robes using photoshop, but I'm having difficulty. Anybody who uses photoshop have any advice?

      You generally go to the Channels tab of the lower-right pane that lists the image layers. From there, you right-click on a channel and select "Duplicate Channel..." I believe. At that point, you simply call the new channel "Alpha".
