About This File

Revenge of Revan Demo (Beta)

The mod is a sequel to The Knights of the Old Republic 2 (Sith Lords).

The game takes place 8 years after kotor2 where you will find the Jedi Order starting to rebuild as they find their place in the Republic that has been absent of the Jedi Order for some years.

An event on Corellia will set events in motion as you try to unravel this mystery before its too late.

RoR is a stand alone original story that allows you, the player, to continue your saga with whatever choices you made in kotor1 and kotor2 whether you use the canon setup or your own personal version.

The mod is a bridge between kotor2 and TOR. You will see cameos and interact with some former characters from kotor1 and kotor2, depending on your choice setup.

New Features:

Well over 50 PC heads including aliens with the ability to wear head gear.

Species optional based attributes setup.

Around 2 hours of gameplay

There is a new Lightsaber Creation system as well as the old looting/inventory system will be tweaked and allow more crafting. Also within the Lightsaber Creation System is a Progressive lightsaber/hilt system which will allow you to follow certain progression trees as you advance in levels and hilt design. This system will be user friendly and allow the player to switch from one progression tree to another with out a penalty.

A New Trust System which will be connected to the existing Influence system for kotor2. You will have moments to gain and lose Trust with party members. If you gain enough Trust then you will be able to Influence their alignment as seen in kotor2.

Dialogues will not be simple black and white in the area of receiving Dark Side and Light Side points. With the newly added motive feature the player can actually do something that is considered nice to manipulate a NPC and gain Dark Side points. The player will have a ( ) similar to when a player can show they are going to lie but in RoR you will have options in the ( ) for example: Diplomatic, Aggressive, Empower them/encourage, Manipulate/control. These will lead to dialogue that match your motive during the conversation.

With these new features and RoR's new NPCs, modeled and skinned by Redrob41, which not only include Party members but even mid to high level NPCs.

In the Demo some of these features are only introduced and not fully active based on story and game play layout. The next installment will see all of these functioning and being used through out the game on a larger scale.

--------------------------------------

Note:

This is a work in progress so not all the human VOs are in the game, there will be a VO patch released later.

RoR doesn't need to be compatible with TSLRCM, since it doesn't take place in any of the same locations (or even the same story, for that matter). They should be installed into completely different folders (override/movies/modules/etc) from each other (as per the instructions) to avoid conflicting files.

I'm guessing that Canderis was pulling everyone's leg :D

Yep, that is Bao-Dur, working for the Republic, but it isn't Dxun (since RoR doesn't visit that planet).

No, you should be ok, since this is a mod of TSL, and not a new game. I use a no-cd crack (even though my TSL disks work fine, and sit on the shelf above my computer) because I don't like having my disk drive spin up for no reason. When I click on my executible, it starts up at the main screen (by-passing the launcher), and is ready to start a new game, using the RoR mod.

This mod shows a lot of promise, this is the closest we will ever get to seeing a KotOR III and I can't wait to see the completed product (allthought 1 gig for just the demo, lol, how big is this thing going to be?).

Just a thought on the name, revenge is typically a dark side endevour, maybe something like "Return of Reven" would be more suitable for both alignments. Anyway great job, I pretty much just created an account here to tell you guys how much I enjoy your mods!

First I'd just like to say one word: AWESOME. I just played through twice and loved every minute.

If you want a play-tester before release down the road, I hope you may consider me. What follows are a few things which might add a little polish; this is a beta, I know, and I don't expect polish in a beta, but you'll get to it, and when you do, I hope this may help just a little. It may all be on your list already.

It is frustrating that not all convos work the same way; in some, you can left-click your way through at your own pace, and in some you cannot; I understand the way the engine handles the different methods but it would be more comfortable for the user if they were all implemented the same way. I personally dislike having to wait for some alien conversation to catch up with me when I have finished reading and am ready to go on.

The colour scheme makes it hard to read the names above peoples' heads when you're wandering about in a crowded area trying to figure out who's worth talking to and who's just second spear-carrier.

Alien names are not so easy to remember. It would help if, after being told you need to find Gortleblastoqqk, its name were to appear in the journal along with at least an approximate location. This was a problem on a few occasions.

Corellia merchant square could use a map pin for the bar. Map pin for Kex is still on the map for the Corellian base camp.

In the launcher.ini file I had to change all the button x coordinates from 49 to 209 so the buttons would show up in the right place on the swlauncher.bmp.

Many, many thanks for all your awesome work.

OK, I just played and I really like where the mod is going so far.. The only suggestion I have is that the font colour for the names of the different NPCs I think needs to be darkened because it impossible on to read who it is you are talking to while on Corellia. I can't wait for the next installment!

I just recently reinstall KOTOR 2 and I was trying to install ROR but in many folder it said that I don't have enough disk space so that TSLPatcher cannot be install properly because there wasn't enough disk space. That is nonsense because I didn't install any other mod but it said I don't have enough disk spac

I'm sorry to use this but: i haven't received any confirmation email (i tried to resend), therefore can't do pretty much anything in here... cant this phase just be skipped? i don't deserve to have all this problems. Someone here should resolve this for me, i'm getting annoyed already. =/
