Installing Windows Mods on Mac with Wine

admission: i'm a n00ber sc00ber when it comes to modding and coding. Here's my predicament: i'm working with a mid 2010 mac running on sierra. some windows mods install correctly with wine and then others give me this message "Error: Unhandled exception: Cannot create file "Z:\Applications\Knights of the Old Republic.app\Contents\Assets\dialog.tlk". Access denied (0). please help! thanks in advance.

It's possible it is set to read-only. In Finder (?) right click on the TLK -> Get Info -> Sharing and Permissions and see what that says.

i changed it to read and write and, unfortunately, i still get the same message

Is it set to that for all users though?

Might be worth summoning resident Mac devotee @CarthOnasty into this conversation for an alternative opinion.

yeah, i also changed it for both the KOTOR app and Wine and still no dice

When you set permissions, did you click the gear toward the bottom and select Apply to enclosed items...?

P.S. Just try setting the permissions to the Assets folder and still Apply to enclosed.
