Lootboxes are looking to be universally banned in Belgium and some Representatives Hawaii are apparently rallying to stop them in the US. http://www.pcgamer.com/belgium-says-loot-boxes-are-gambling-wants-them-banned-in-europe/ http://www.gameinformer.com/b/news/archive/2017/11/21/the-state-of-hawaii-investigating-ea-for-predatory-practices.aspx EA is in huge trouble for putting this increasingly controversial component into their game and indeed for using the Star Wars label to do it.
Guest Posted November 22, 2017 EA may have destroyed lootboxes for the whole gaming industry inadvertently. Good.
Domino5555 119 Posted November 22, 2017 Now we should continue to demand more from our base games, not including DLC. I was mistaken to prefer microtransactions to a $50 season pass, or to believe that Battlefront II's launch wouldn't be as bad as Battlefield 4's. I definitely jinxed it in the latter, let me tell you. So you can all blame me for the God awful launch of EAFront 2. There is also Battlefront 3 legacy mod that adds 3 ground to space map.(Crouscant,Cato naimoda and Bespin) Frankly my computer couldn't run those maps reliably to save its life. And this is a 2-year old laptop. Perhaps Battlefront 3 Legacy could release a lower quality version of those maps, so they can run reliably on older computers. Dont forget the patch v1.3. Otherwise the mods will not work

Mellowtron11 180 Posted November 23, 2017 Yep. And you even get less credits per match. It's funny how Star Wars HQ youtube channel tells this news in the way that make you believe that EA has completely fixed the problem. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pcGrChnN-UQ I used to enjoy watching Star Wars HQ, but eventually you can tell that they're willing to believe in the BS that EA puts out in their press releases and that turned me off. Nothing will come of it unless the game is boycotted heavily, and that won't happen because some idiots buy anything with Star Wars slapped on it. They're fine. EA has already made a ton of revenue from this game, and so long as they're publishing big titles and milking FIFA, they're completely ok. There's always going to be enough people with enough cash to blow to keep making microtransactions profitable. Both of those statements are correct. There's somehow enough people willing to buy extra stuff through microtransactions. It's also worth noting that EA is currently the only game studio making Star Wars games at the moment, and I'm sure that there are people desperate enough to play a new Star Wars game.
