Guest Posted July 28, 2017 In the Telos Polar Region visible in Widescreen especially, at bottom of the skybox that you can see when the camera does a flyby that there's a problem. Here, on the right you can see where one of the pillars meet the skybox. I'd like this, seam- as it were fixed. Either by extending the pillars or by other means. In TSLRCM there's also a new problem with the shuttle cutscenes that being- Atton has been Darth Maul'd, being bisected that is. I'd love someone to fix this too- either by removing these scenes entirely or some other means. Thank you for reading.
N-DReW25 1,336 Posted July 29, 2017 I don't think removing a piece of restored cut content that fits in with the plot is going to make people happy. Can you please show us a screenshot of atton being "Darth Maul'd" so myself and others can get a better understanding of the problem. As for the ice cap I feel like changing the camera so maybe instead of it starting 20 feet in the air it starts above the shuttle facing the HK-50 droids and as they speak there lines the camera moves closer and closer to the droids and when they say there "feild assessment" lines the camera turns to the exile and zooms towards him/her and stops very close to the exile as he/she gets up. As of right now I am not talented enough to pull off something like that but it should definitely be possible.

But the dialogue performance is awful- particularly "It's not my fault!" & the characters not moving in the shuttle is terrible. Take my word for it that Atton is also missing his legs on top of this. There should be a mod like the Unofficial TSLRCM Tweak Pack that removes this part from TSLRCM, especially since it has no bearing on the plot whatsoever. Also TSLRCM itself should restore Atton's legs IMO. That sounds like a great idea, changing the camera angle rather than the environment would do the trick.
Hassat Hunter 571 Posted July 31, 2017 I've already moved the camera up to mask it on widescreen pretty much the first update afters Aspyr's update; so I have no idea what you're talking about. I also see no issuess with the skybox. Care to point them out in a screenshot or something?

Guest Posted August 15, 2017 I can't seem to screenshot it. It just comes out black. Would anyone consider changing the camera angle as to hide the skybox problem?
bead-v 251 Posted August 15, 2017 I can't seem to screenshot it. Tried in windowed mode?
Guest Posted August 15, 2017 Tried in windowed mode? Here, you can see the obvious problem on both sides- This wouldn't be noticable if the initial camera angle was altered.

I also see no issues with the skybox. Care to point them out in a screenshot or something? So I've seen from replaying this part, the legless Atton is no longer an issue. Although the fact the shuttle's ground has a black texture irks me also I can live with it. Not so much the skybox but more so how the area joins with it, the lack thereof. It looks really bad- I know I'm using a modded skybox in the pictures- but the issue is still there and quite visible in the vanilla reguardless. Agreed, the ground texture doesn't fit, and the pillar is problematic. I also don't like how obvious it makes the texture patterns. If I redid the camera myself I'd probably go for a completely different, more close-up approach. But moving the camera slightly, lowering it's starting position and raising the pitch should fix the bigger issues.

bead-v 251 Posted August 23, 2017 Any joy? Not even the slightest chance I'd find the time to do this right now, sorry.

DarthParametric 3,784 Posted August 23, 2017 This is just a quick and dirty hack to test the principle, but extract this into your Override and see what difference it makes (I don't have an appropriate save to test it with). https://www.darthparametric.com/files/kotor/tsl/[TSL]_261TELD_Polar_Plateau.7z

Edit: Okay so it works, but it's not perfect - still looks somewhat questionable but far better than before. A camera angle change would still be more ideal. It also seems to somehow restore the problem that was fixed by the last TSLRCM Update of Atton being bisected. Agreed, the ground texture doesn't fit, and the pillar is problematic.
