Italian member - new to modding - questions about M4-78

Recommended Posts

Hello guys, I'm a new Italian member and after all I apologize for my bad English, I hope you will understand me.

So, I've played kotor II at least 5-6 times in the last 5 years but only yesterday I saw that there is the M4-78 project that introduce even this cut content in the game. I've looked for an italian version on the net but I've not found it. In one of the main topic about this project I've read that this M4-78 mod is only avaible on the english version of the game so I would like to know if an italian version exist because I really love this game and would be fantastic playing it with all his original content.

I apologize if this topic isn't in the correct section but I don't know this forum.

Looking forward to receive an answer.

There is no Italian version. There's too much text on the planet and nobody attempted to translate it. Sorry.

If I would attempt to translate it, are several editors (DLG Editor; ERFEdit; TalkEd) enough to manage it or do I need other program skills?

ERF editor for extracting stuff and repacking stuff, DLG Editor for dialogs, and GFF Editor for journal entries (global.jrl in override) and NPC/placeable/object names (uti, utc, utp files) and map notes (git files).

Also a language converter so the text actually appears in non english versions.

So, the language converter tool in the Modding Tools section. Also, K-GFF is the GFF editor of choice.

If necessary, you can PM me or contact me on Skype and I could run you through one of each type of translation.

Yes, of course. I've already played the MOD in non english version.

About the tlk file, does the mod just enable unused strings (already translated) or does it add new strings in it?

IIRC we don't add anything to TLK but I may be wrong. Grab an exe from the download section and install the mod into an empty folder to eaisly find all files we changed and added.

No .tlk changes.

Also I really don't recommend spending any time on this before 1.3 is released.

Thank you. Then I'm going to wait next release.

Meanwhile I reinstall the game from GOG because using retail cd version (with SECUROM DRM) is pointless.
