Box 8 Posted June 2, 2016 So I didn't see a thread here about this. I only just heard about it on the radio on the way home so you guys might be more in the loop than I am. I've heard it suggested that it could be be due to the tone of the movie being too dark for Star Wars. This kind of bums me out. The Force Awakens didn't exactly do it for me and the trailer for Rogue One made me optimistic that this movie might take a few more risks. After this, I'm adjusting my expectations downward. Although from my understanding (and if this is true, I will be rather pissed off), the reason they are doing re-shoots is because the disney executives believed that rogue one was too dark and after the recent 'success' of BvS (which seems ridiculous as I personally thought thats about the only thing this movie got right, I didnt think the movie being too dark was one of its issues), they opted to make changes. If this were the case, Id be pissed because I really want to see another dark SW movie similar to ROTS. Some of the rumours I have heard and seen surrounding this movie were really intriguing. xander2077 80 Posted June 2, 2016 Disney executives all are stuck in this fantasy that they have to make everyone smiling happy bufoons that feel good, and so they are happy smiling bufoons in the board room when they reveiw the average disney film trailer, so when a dark trailer comes out and they dont feel like it is their brand, they get uncomfortable. as long as disney has the star wars franchise, they will not take any risks, or rather the board will not, because they cant think outside the established brand... they will keep making entertainment for the preschool demographic, and they will keep picking stupid villain names like supreme leader snoke and happy dapp... cmon, really? happy-dapp? that is a throwback to some unused 1960's character names from the disney unused names gallery or something. cant you hear donald duck saying that 50 times? 2 Quote Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
