Camco 0 Posted August 8, 2015 Seeing: Please read this thread's first post: K1R 1.0 Impressions and Bug-Reports [READ ME FIRST]Then post the questions with your answers to them. After you answer the questions, feel free to include any additional information you think is relevant. Link to all mods mentioned. ...this is how I am starting this post. 1) During the game, when did the problem begin to occur? Vulkar base, 2nd level, kill & looted all, opened all containers, 1st level all cleared as well, after giving spice to guy in 2nd lvl cantina, getting his card, going to FL1 elevator, first string of dialogue is displayed and then closes the elevator access screen. I experimented with removing ALL files from the Override folder that this allows all THREE screens of text to be displayed on the elevator security terminal access screen, but still halts progression. 2) Did you install the latest version of the mod? (1.0) Yes3) What version of the game do you have? (Steam, GOG, 4CD, KotOR Collection?) What region is the game designed for if it's the 4 CD version? Steam4) Did you update your game as required by your game's region? (4-CD version ONLY) Used patcher that came with Steam version, game is v1.035) Did you install this over the previous version(s), or did you perform a fresh installation as required by the K1R's read-me file? Fresh install6) What other mods have you installed? Please give an accurate list and provide links to each of these mods - even if they are found on this site. (We don't actually know them all!.) None 7) Can you be more specific about the error? At what point did it happen? Yes: I have looted all containers, completed all conversations, all dialogue with exception to Bendak's bounty, the dueling ring as far as winning vs Marl and Twitch. Then, upon gaining access to Vulkar base L2 the sequence of events is as follows: I kill the 2 guards at the elevator, use my main character's security skill to open the security door to the locker room, kill the turrets, Gamorrean, and Vulkar in the locker room, loot the locker room, move onto the old guy's room, use all dialogue options with him, loot his room, move on to the next door, open it with security, kill, loot. Onto the hallway with the series of rooms: I try to open the heavy security door, locked, no security unlock option. Kill the guards in the hallway, security slice door 1, say F you to the Gamorrean, kill all 3 of them, security unlock and loot the strong box. Complete the entire hallway by sec unlocking all doors, killing, and looting everyone and everything as well as the mini garage with the swoop. Run back to the elevator, pop the guards on the left, loot them. Go around the right, pop those guards and loot them. Say hi to the heating assembly, enter the cantina. Derp with all the mechanics and give the spice to the only guy that'll take it. Get his card, talk to the old mechanic, all dialogue options. Go back downstairs, use elevator access terminal, use mech keycard, 1 screen of text displays, screen closes on Lclick. This is where I am stuck and cannot progress any further. 8) Have you tried re-downloading/re-installing the mod? Yes9) Have you tried using a different save game? Yes10) Have you tried starting a new game? Yes 11) What Operating System do you use? (List Virtual Machines as well if you are using them.) Windows 8.1 pro (x64) 12) Can you confirm that you see the K1R Launcher when you launch the game? I have never seen any K1R launcher ever since installing. The executable to install the mod fails to display the gui screen after running the exe. Hovering the mouse on the window in the taskbar shows the thumbnail of the exe opened and ready to install, however the window does not display to select any options. I have had to perform a manual install BOTH times I have tried to bypass this error. From http://deadlystream.com/forum/topic/3289-k1r-10-vulkar-base-faq/ : K1R 1.0 Vulkar Base FAQ. Q: I am stuck in the Vulkar Base help!!!A: Have you tried the following?1. Asking the old mechanic what is wrong with the heat in the place after you have used the mechanic ID card?Yes 2. Looting every single corpse?Yes 3. Have you gotten the items out of Vict Jaxx's locker?Yes 4. Checked your journal for advice?Yes , 1 or 2 entries are even completely blank.5. Wandered around a bit on the 2nd floor of the Vulkar Base after using the mechanic ID in order to trigger a cutscene?Yes 6. Have you gotten the items out of Caalin's Strongbox located near his desk?Yes if you mean the only loot container that is labeled "STRONG BOX" on the long hallway first room. I have seen no strong box labeled "CAALIN'S STRONG BOX" or anything similar to the latter. So, there it is and where I am stuck. Hope to get a response soon and continue playing with forward progression. Love the mod. Thanks for making it.
Fair Strides 509 Posted August 8, 2015 Manual install was never guaranteed to work. Also, the TSLPatcher installer should open up, you should be able to confirm that you want the mod to install, the should have to find your KotOR 1 folder. I've never heard of an issue with the installer appearing. After you get to that console, a journal update should occur and you should be able to ask the old guy about the heating system again and force some answers out of him. Apparently reducing 4 monitors to 1 solved the can't-see-the-launcher problem. Will report back with a new game up to the same point once I get there. Sith Holocron 2,472 Posted August 8, 2015 Nope! (So many don't follow the instructions that I had to thank someone for doing it. Kind of sad, huh?)
Camco 0 Posted August 9, 2015 Nope! (So many don't follow the instructions that I had to thank someone for doing it. Kind of sad, huh?) True (Quite the paradox isn't it? Thanking me for following them because so little do that I think it's sarcastic) LOL
xtprojects 13 Posted August 9, 2015 Glad to see you got it sorted out. For xbox users like me of this mod i can only do a manual install. So pretty much Fair Strides manual install is not guaranteed? I never knew this. I'm now stuck at this part as well where i cannot get the cutscene after using the mechanic id. Anything i might be able to do since i cannot use an exe to install? Anything i might be able to do since i cannot use an exe to install? It's only not guaranteed since the TSLPatcher patches existing files the use might have from other mods. Just installing it off of a fresh game should be okay. (I think... Only thing that might get screwed up is 2DA references in the files...)

(I think... Only thing that might get screwed up is 2DA references in the files...) That might explain the missing heads on some npcs correct? Does the taris swoop track you can visit use any custom models btw?
Fair Strides 509 Posted August 9, 2015 Yes the heads are explained. And as I had said once, I'm not sure about the custom models.
xtprojects 13 Posted August 10, 2015 Yes the heads are explained. And as I had said once, I'm not sure about the custom models. My apologies as i did not know or remember the heads being explained. I installed the mod over to the xbox version using the TSLpatcher, I ripped a fresh copy of the kotor xbox version over to my pc HDD and the install worked fine. However, heads on some npcs are still missing on my end. I am going to test the base now to see if it works after using the card. Using the TSLpatcher allowed for the impossible difficulty to show up now though so that's good!
Fair Strides 509 Posted August 10, 2015 Well, the guy in the Vulkar Base, in the room with those six guards, uses a custom model for his head, and so does a person on the Leviathan (both the head and the body models are custom), so I'm not sure how it will play out.
LiliArch 115 Posted August 10, 2015 Sounds like a potential crash to me, if custom models are not shown...
xtprojects 13 Posted August 10, 2015 So far, so good and no crashes. Thanks for the response about the heads. In my quick test i warped over to the vulkar base with DarthDacs warp band to test and the mechanic is missing his head still. Sorry earlier i had to run fair strides before i could hear back from you. I am at work so you know how that goes.

Okay, working my way up to where I was before. RL has been taking my time more lately. This is the install log from the installer. The 150 warnings are from the previous manual install I did before (twice). Will this have a negative effect on the issue I was trying to get around w/ the keycard? installlog.rtf

You should be good to go, but you'll need to load a save from before entering the Vulkar Base.
AssassinMonLV 0 Posted October 18, 2015 Sorry for bumping this but this is what describes my problem exactly. I am in the Vulkar base and now trying to get the power cell for the heating. I cannot get into the locked security room where it is located and I cannot get into Vict's locker. My security check keeps failing with the message "impossible" even with a security skill of 8. Is this power cell needed to get into the garage elevator? I've been stuck on this level for hours now!
