KotOR 1 Restoration Demo Hype Thread

I will announce that the K1R demo will be released sometime later today or at night since that is most likely when you will be reading this message and I will get everyone hyped. As for why I didn't get your message earlier well my sleep schedule is weird I've been waking up at 1:00 AM and going to sleep at 5:00 PM otherwise I would have given you the okay and we would have seen a release at midnight :P."

 

This was in my private message to Fallen Guardian. What could this mean I'm sure you wonder ;).

 

We really enjoyed making this demo and I must ask from the perspective of the fans what specific content do you guys expect will be in the demo?

 

What do you guys think is the surprise I asked FG to integrate into the installer?

 

This thread can be used to discuss the upcoming demo and get hyped!

I recommend releasing then announcing. You've already announced it privately and publicly that it would be "out tomorrow" several times and you see where that got you.

 

Don't pull a "Team Gizka" on folks. You'll be reviled.

Yeah, it's my fault really I mean I was way too confident it was going to be released that week and I made a mistake and I am willing to admit it. This time is different though because all it needs is for one file to be integrated into the installer, some screenshots to be taken and nothing else.

 

I could just go and release now and then release an updated version for the surprise but keep in mind if I release it now there won't be any screenshots with prntscrn giving me problems.

 

You know what everyone has had enough suffering, I'm going to go ahead and release immediately and release a updated version with the surprise later tonight screenshots or no.

 

Also to the entire Deadly Stream community I issue a public apology for having to push it back and hope that you will all forgive me and know that I will not make the same mistake in the future. K1R 1.0 will have no release date and even if I have one in mind I will keep such thoughts in private places.

Well, I'm sure you've acquired screenshots before - those updates I've pestered you about previously? At ppost those along with the download . . . give 'em something to look at.

Your surprise doesn't interest me. It is not "bait" for me. I will play K1R at final release. ;)

 

Just like I'll play TSLRCM after M4-78 EP is done.

I also deleted "Impossible Difficulty" from file downloads since it is no longer needed due to the K1R demo including it so you can no longer get "Impossible Difficulty" as a standalone mod.

If you have threads describing that"Impossible Difficulty" mod at LucasForums, I'd suggest you ask a moderator to lock it. If you have one here besides the download thread you just deleted, I'd suggest locking it now.

 

This'll prevent noobs from trying to pester you later on.

Anyone else notice Deadly Stream was going slower than normal the past hour? Perhaps the K1R demo was so awesome that Deadly Stream couldn't handle it :P. I'm just kidding of course, not to say the demo isn't good, it's excellent. I imagine it was another issue though.

Well, dear ZM90, congratulations on the Demo and that super amazing surprise you're cooking for us, but I must say, too me K1R in general is nice, but not to die for. Vanilla Kotor in itself felt perfect and complete. And besides, there is still that damned immovable exeprience top :mad: so I'll pass on the Demo....

I'm going to go ahead and tell you guys what surprise was being planned. FG found a way to restore the Trask soundset and we were going to surprise you guys by actually having a bit of Endar Spire content after all that being the soundset but FG couldn't find a way to integrate it into the installer. Now I'm pretty sure we could still release it if you guys are okay with manual install for the soundset. It should be K1R demo compatible.

What was the problem. TSLPatcher should allow adding additional strings to a .2da file then modify other files (the .utc) to use that specific .2da line added. So yeah, what's the problem?

The problem is I'm not altogether too sure on how to make the TSLPatcher modify preexisting lines in the Dialogue.tlk, rather than adding new ones. If it comes down to it I guess I could just append them..

Hmm, well that stinks. I guess since I am just editing the dialog.tlk I could copy it over as an install file... But then that would absolutely require this mod be installed first. I guess I'll just add the modified strings on as new ones, seeing as it's not that many entries.
