Then it's just as I thought, this approach works perfectly. It's even a little more flexible than I had imagined. Most certainly much better than anything I could reproduce with my ultimately limited source material and equipment. I highly recommend the staff just use this instead then. It's just.. stupid not to. I can still send you all the sounds effects I've made so far, in case you ever find a purpose for it. My services are still available for anything else, of course. I would gladly help you guys with other stuff.

I don't understand, what am I looking at here? Is this the first idea I suggested - that I never got an answer to? I suggested to use the entire audio track of the video (extracted with Bink tools), then make the in-game sequence match it. If this is something else, please let me know. I'm halting my progress as of now.

This, actually (Meetra Surik being the official canon name of. 'The Exile) I was looking for it last week and I was surprised to learn it hadn't been done yet. So many other heads have been made that two 'canon' heads seems like a minor challenge.

How do i get the regal visor in KotOR 2?
ThatDearGuy replied to Darth Malious's topic in Knights of the Old Republic General
They are spawned once, once when you load an area for the first time. There are places where such container are near the start of an area, so you can just make a save in a previous are and keep reloading the new map after that until you get your item. Will probably take a long time. I've done it a few times to get a Czerka Utility belt on the Peragus mining station, during the bit you play with T3. -

I will remain available to the TSLRCM team if anything else comes up.

Yeah, sure. A fine game. A bit linear though, and evil vs good doesn't affect the people/world as much as it does in Kotor2. But still a very nice game. It's a pre-shader 3.0 game, so it will very likely run on many dated systems. The maps are medium to large, but no immediate area you are in is extremely vast. Yet at the same time they've filled even the smallest areas with the most beautiful vistas. The graphics can still be tweaked down, so I was able to play it even on an old laptop. I haven't been able to finish it more than maybe twice. You see, while there are a lot of things you can do / gather, most of it has little to no effect on the gameplay itself. The combat and camera modes on the other hand were a refreshing break what Bioware had been doing up to that point. Pretty fluid stuff. Paved the way for what they eventually did with Mass Effect, maybe.

Alright, I suppose it's just me. No problem.

I would like to hear that, if possible. It would be a big help.

I got lucky and already found an excellent replacement for the sabre-rattling noise. Needs only minor editing. I've found several other candidates for that and the beating sounds, but they all need a measure of editing. For now I'm just creating copies that I can review later. Just wanted to let you know where I am on this. I have hours of work ahead of me (well, likely at least a few days). I will continue tomorrow after work. I am glad I can finally help in some way.

I received no email. Not sure what the settings are for my account here, since I used twitter to sign up on the forums. I don't have the original force-push sound, but consider making a copy of it that plays at a slightly lower speed. I think that could be a good replacement. As for the other two sounds, I'm looking through the database now. I will need a few days to go through most of it, but I think this should be doable. It's a lot easier than finding a matching scream or cry for a specific person. Edit: I noticed a change in music too, in the original, that meshes with events taking place. It really exclamates the final part of the beating, where Kreia gets thrown on the floor. Even if I had that access to that other music track, I'm not sure if I could make it sound that good.

Well let me know if I can assist and what you would need. I have no guarantees I can be of any help, but there really is a *lot* I can search through. All public domain material too.

Looks awesome in-game though. Despite all the combat, you just don't see that kind of abuse in the game. I have access to a vast database of sound effects, a.. hobby thing. If you want I can try and find something similar?

I'm playing with 1.7 and there is something there that doesn't look right to me. Is it just me, or does any female exile seem to have her head tilted downward just a little bit too much? It's particularly noticeable when they are looking at a specific object that's close to them. It kind of makes their chin touch their chest/throat area rather easily. Male exile on the other hand seem to have their heads more straight. Is it a matter of taste? I've looked this over a dozen times and I can't tell if it is. To me it just looks...off - by a few degrees. And ever since I first noticed it a couple of days ago, I can't really stop looking at it. Any chance anyone currently working on 1.8 agrees with me?
-
That is extremely impressive. And so many mods are incorporated too.. I think I will have to reinstall KOTOR 2 clean to be sure there won't be any conflicts.
-
Good point, thanks for that tip.
-
Ho wait, there aren't any bonuses for using force powers while not carrying any weapons are there? I thought that might be the case, since there is a separate feat for deflecting blaster bolts without a lightsabre as well.
-
Hm.. I think it was something I read once (on a forum?) about using the dragon pearl in Kotor 1, but I'm not even sure about that anymore. Jedi using 2 sabres at the same time can use twice the crystals. I think I assumed that in the case of a doublebladed sabre that effect was mimicked for each 'side' of the sabre, but with only one set of crystals. Effectively copying them. I just wanted to check and you confirmed for me that I was wrong. You have my thanks.
-
If you put a crystal in a doublebladed lightsabre, its stats will be doubled, right? For example, Pontite (+1-10 Cold, CHA: +2) will do +2-20 Cold dmg and Cha +4? Same case with the <player>'s chrystal right? If a Sith Lord / Jedi Master with double alignment mastery wants to get the best bang out of his sabre(s), she should get a doublebladed lightsabre so she gets TWICE the charisma / wisdom bonuses from the <player>'s chrystal? The thing is, it's been so long since I played KOTOR 2 that I can't remember for sure if this thing with the doublebladed sabres was a KOTOR 1 or KOTOR 2 mechanic.

Amazing. You're very lucky.

Help needed w/ Peragus Station
ThatDearGuy replied to ThatDearGuy's topic in Knights of the Old Republic General
.. which was actually a lot more simple than I thought it would be. Seems like you only get exp for the FIRST droid you use your repair/computer skills on. And that only 60 exp (plus the 400 for flipping the switch on the administration level to make them all passive). Even if that would increase somehow at higher levels, I very much doubt it will ever approach the remaining 400 exp. I had no idea. Then it's settled. You get the best exp by killing them all, 800 exp. -
Help needed w/ Peragus Station

Heh. I've finished the game several times, I just thought it was time of an optimized exp game for me. A level or two more or less at the start of the game can have a huge impact later on. I've been using the guides on this site a lot: http://aeons.poweredbylasers.com/aeons/kotor2_faq.php I think I'll have to restart to test all of this then. I was hoping someone had beaten me to it. -
Help needed w/ Peragus Station

I had one more idea, something I simply never tested. I was doing the solo bit with T3-M4. When I finished it, I noticed NONE of the experience was actually transferred back to The Exile. So I was thinking, if I manage to do the entire sequence without killing *any* droids at all, will they still be there for The Exile to kill, later? -
I'm employing a number of tricks to get the most exp out of this place. However.. I'm not sure about one. It's about those droids that you can disable rather than destroy on the Administration level, way into the beginning of the game. you can kill them directly, for 100 exp per kill, I think for 800 total you can leave them alone and disable them directly, for only 400 exp If you leave them alone, you can actually get still get some more exp out of them by using the computer and repair skill on each disabled droid. It's just that even if you do that, the total amount of exp still won't beat what you would get for killing them all. My next thought was, hey, why don't I just leave them alone until just *AFTER* I killed the HK-50 unit, and do them at a much higher level/skill level? Wouldn't that net me more exp per computerized/repairized droid? I have no idea actually. Even if that would work, it would mean having LESS exp by the time you get into the mining tunnels. Removing those mines there *should* give you more exp per level. If it means missing an entire level that early on, it would mean all the following maps would spawn with less exp as well. So in short, I don't really know what the best route is here. Do you guys have any ideas?

Which game have you had an emotional attachment to?
ThatDearGuy replied to GovernorTarkin's topic in General Discussion
Absolutely Baldur's Gate and perhaps even more so Planescape Torment. I also remember letting loose a few tears at the end of the first Call of Duty game, when the battle sounds slowly fade and are replaced with the ending score while you're still playing. I think that was just mostly because I had probably seen Saving Private Ryan a few years earlier. -
Hm, not many these days. I watched Mushi-shi a while ago, very calming. If they ever made an animated series out of the Blame! manga, I would totally suck that up.
