The process was complex, painful, with many many many dead ends and issues but I finally got the solution (and yes this mod was critical in this) The issue is the version of the unencrypted .exe I had had the values in the wrong address. Uniws got it right, but this mod's .exe did not...but uniws ruined the mouse offsets (QHD wasn't supported well) The readme in this hrm was confusing but the result I found in the hex: uniws did the .exe patch correctly. adding the gui parts from k1hrm fixed the graphical part. so the sequence is unecrypted exe, uniws, then the override gui files from this mod. Then it all works gloriously! worth the fight
