There's a variable in the save file that gets set when, say, you argue with Atton about whether Revan was male or female. I assume it saves your answers from Atton's questions about your lightsaber, I just haven't figured out where yet. Perhaps when he asks, where the voiceover is clearly a different voice than Atton's says, "besides the ones you got from your friend there..." the lightsaber variable there could be set to cyan single-bladed, since that's what you got from the crate in your quarters on the Harbinger. I may play through again and see what I can dig up...

I get as far as talking to Atris at the Polar Academy, and the game just hangs when she says: "I have always kept it." I'm assuming that since I didn't talk to Atton about the lightsaber, the game doesn't know color and kind and freaks out there. I have just recently put Windows on a computer so that I could play more games, and I loaded this one first to work out some issues with the CPU temperature. Let's see what do we have installed? TCLRCM 1.7 and fix HOTOR 1.6 Ultimate Balancing Mod Ultimate Personal Items Remove Armor restiction Invisible head gear I'm hoping I don't have a unique problem since it seems folks are getting as far as Dxun.

I recently upgraded my Ubuntu distro on my game computer. I've been happily running KOTOR II under Linux for a couple of years now, but when I reinstalled the game after torching everything else, it now comes up with "A required security module can not be activated. This program can not be executed." Any one else run into this problem? I haven't been too broken up about it lately because I've gotten bored with KOTOR, but now I want to get it fixed.

I'll try it. I just started a new game after reinstalling the game and the mods I wanted. I was running into parts that weren't consistent with 1.7, so some cruft might have been left over from applying the handmaiden4femaleexile mod. Handmaiden's face doesn't look right when she steals the EB, and ran into the "Drop your weapons" bug at the beginning of Telos Academy. I'll see how this run-through goes. Thanks!

OK. I've got this mostly to work. I'm just hitting some glitches right now. Started with PC as male, as indicated. I changed appearance and gender to female, and added SoundSet: Commoner_Female for battle cries (Awesome!). 000_PLAYER_GENDER = 0, I suppose this is the universal gender check. I didn't find the mysterious other boolean the OP mentioned. Got to Telos Academy, switched gender to GENDER_MALE, left appearance, changed 000_PLAYER_GENDER to 1 Yes. The academy goes off just fine, though if anyone was having problems with gender in the speeches later on with the Handmaiden and female exile, they don't hold a candle to what the Handmaiden implies Atris had done with the MALE exile. I get to the Ebon Hawk, and I can't leave. I fire up the KSE, change the gender and boolean back to previous, still can't leave. I change Numeric 262TEL_Escape_Telos from 0 to 1, come back and I'm on the Ebon Hawk, with cutscenes from Atton/T3, Atton/Bao-Dur, Bao-Dur/T3, but no council scene and no Handmaiden. I like this option because I like playing female exile and the Disciple is a waste of flesh.

I played the Darker Peragus mod on the last two games, and it definitely changes the creepiness factor for everything to be dark. It looks gorgeous, too. I don't know how much work when into it, but Peragus is huge compared to the Jedi confrontation scene.

I'm using UBM and have got past Telos Academy. First planet Dantooine. I loaded the save file on another machine without tslrcm when I got to Telos Academy, then activated the Handmaiden, and took the save back to the machine loaded with the above. And yes, TSLRCM and Handmaiden for female exiles is really not compatible at the activation point, but seems to be working okay since then. PrClBonus gives Force Enlightenment at Prestige level, instead of the late game, but I've noticed that it grants speed and shield to all members of the party, instead of just the Exile. Even so, UBM is still making the enemies very hard to defeat: I had to pull out of a firefight with the HKs on Dantooine, let my party die, heal up and go back. I'm not looking forward to fighting the Kinrath Matriarch. So is Force Enlightenment supposed to confer shield and speed on the whole party? I always thought of it as just a keystroke shortcut to cast all three spells rather than paging through one by one, which is why I like it to come online with Prestige class.

Yes, killing the Cannok. I've been getting lightsabers since then, though I might play with what HaVoKeR said and fix lightsaber quest in KSE. We could probably do away with the conversation that Atton and Exile have on the Ebon Hawk about lightsabers if one uses the UBM personal items mod, since, well, the lightsabers DID come in handy on Peragus. But I'm dealing with every reference to the exile as "he" already with the Handmaiden mod, so a little extra parlay with Atton shouldn't bother me that much.

I copied the lightsaber quest mod over the rest when the part dropped in the Dxun jungle, so if there were other mods using the same file, they got changes wiped out. Lightsaber dropped when I fought Visas, and again when I finished with the quests Mandalore set me on to take me to Isis, so maybe just that weird location in the jungle, which doesn't usually drop a lightsaber but like a crystal or lightsaber lens, cell, or emitter. In the jungle where Kelborn puts you on taking out some scouts. I'm doing Dxun/Onderon after Telos just to see what it's like.

Duelling with Visas dropped a double-bladed lightsaber, so perhaps no_lightsaber_quest is working somewhat.

I'm playing ultimate balance mod with ultimate personal items (I thought giving lightsabers on the Harbinger was too easy, until I ran into Sith Assassins with lightsabers!). I decided to use HH's no lightsaber quest as well. It has gone fine until I get to the first drop, where I receive a lightsaber part and the lightsaber quest. This was on Dxun, after I already received the lightsaber on Telos from the Ithorians, and after I received the two from my quarters on the Harbinger. I monkeyed around with Telos Academy so that I could run female exile with Handmaiden, a mod that seems incompatible with 1.7. So I take out that mod for the encounter on Telos, which hits the bug where "Lay down your weapons..." causes it to go into diagnostic mode, and put the mod in right after that to activate Handmaiden as a party member. I didn't get the conversation with Bao-Dur about building a lightsaber, so dropping lightsaber parts on me now is disconcerting. I did this, installed UBM, then when I wasn't getting force valor after finding a Sith Battle Suit outside the dormitories on Peragus (!), I went digging through spells.2da to see what the differences were. I needn't have bothered, since the TSLPatcher updates the spells.2da without changing UBM stuff. Very nice! Nice mod, too! On difficult, I was getting pretty bored with playthroughs where I cheat at the beginning, with extra items and abilities, and somnambulate through Telos, but beating the toughs outside the cantina on Telos was intensely hard. Thanks!

Mod Compatibility with TSLRCM 1.7 (Discussion)

I'm using Handmaiden Choice for Females by Stoffe (AKA RevanAnt) but didn't realize it wasn't compatible. I'd installed it at Telos Academy, after entering and speaking to Atris, then played on with it. I stopped that game for other reasons, started a new one, and ran into the old problem where Telos Academy used to get stuck, from "Throw down your weapons..." I deleted the Override files, and went through again, reloading them after entering and talking to Atris, then activated the Handmaiden by talking with her. So far, most of the rest seems to work. Handmaiden is much more interesting, and I never saw it because I never play male. The interactions can be a little weird at times, but no more so than Atris's conversations with the female Exile. Is anyone else interested in making this mod compatible? -
No, I totally get the reasoning behind it: war veteran would be trained, or experienced, in diverse fighting techniques. Also suits playability, since all players have these abilities that they can choose to advance or not, instead of being stuck with one or another. I spent a lot of my early TSL experience using the Flurries, until I discovered that Power Attack was a very good lower-level attack I didn't develop. I got the kotor tools, but I'm having difficulty locating the feat.2da, because it seems my Kotor2 path doesn't have much in the way of 2da files except in the Override directory. Where should these files be, or do they need to be created somehow? I'll look at Mandalore's "modding" thread as well. I've been contributing to dialog.tlk, but I want to go beyond that.

The "blizzard" we were promised in here Salt Lake City brought wind and cold, though not much snow. It seems to be sticking around, mainly because the temperature has stayed so low.

That would be cool. I'm always having the default critical strike show up when I haven't advanced the skill, and I don't know how to change it, but I'd prefer my characters to start without critical strike at all, or maybe without any combat feats, especially the Sentinel/Guardian classes. When a character comes from the get-go using only a melee weapon, sure, you'd know which end of a blaster to hold, but why would you have power blast, sniper shot, and rapid shot?

In sparring to train Bao-Dur, female Exile has male physique, it's rather disconcerting...

The high-res cutscene with Visas and Nihilius is AWESOME! Would it be considered a cheat to just hop back on the ship and fight Visas after leaving Telos? If I go to Korriban, hop off then hop right back on, I fight Visas, beat her, and add another lightsaber part and crew member. Then there's the last part and the orange stone in the Sith Academy.

I don't have Mandalore in this game yet, but I can test it right here. Base player character 14 DEX, +2 modifier. Add Infiltration Gloves (+1), Spacer's Sensor (+1), Alacrity Implant (+2), Exchange Utility Belt (+1). Dex goes to 20, +5, in clothing. The stats and bonus are highlighted in yellow because modified. Put on Echani Battle Suit, Dex still 20, still yellow, bonus drops to +3, in yellow. The bonus should be in red because the bonus would be higher without the restriction of the suit.

I've got one that might be pretty easy to do. In Kotor 1, when a bonus is restricted (mostly the dexterity bonus for armor is what I'm thinking), the bonus shows up in red. That saves having to take off the armor and try something unrestricted in order to see if your bonus is being reduced or is only at that level. Finding out how much the restriction might be inhibiting your stats would take changing armor, but it would be nice to see at a glance whether it's inhibiting or not.

I've got a couple more edits. New tlk is not in place in this game, so these might already be fixed, sorry. Noticed them going through. 83863: "athough" should be "although" 116619, 83842: remove comma between "grown, amongst". Also, one of these is female Revan, one is male. Is this distinguished the way male/female exile is? Both contain he, referring to Revan, but if Revan is differentiated by sex, one of them should be she instead. I don't know which one, though. 83853, 83861: Judgment call. I can hear Atris pause before "wound", so the text should have "Whatever that... wound was," in both lines.

Evidently not improved enough. Got out of modding thread earlier (it was in TSL_TLKFile.zip, I can't find the thread now). Someplace else I should be getting this? Thanks. These two are often confused, but the context clearly intends "affect"

All right, here goes: 132134 Change "seperated" to "separated" both instances. 83502 Change "effect" to "affect". 90730 is used even if the exile is female. Unlike the two above, this matches what the NPC Nikko actually says.

Kaevee is really cool. I wish there could be more of that, even if it were just finishing off the Suulru quest, to give her his offer. Always been sorry that Brianna won't follow a female exile as well, though I think I understand why.
