  1. I read this tutorial but it never specified how to write a script checking for a specific numeric, not just whether or not a boolean was true or false. Specifically, what I'm interested in doing is creating a global numeric like "revan_rom" and setting 0 = Revan romanced no one / Juhani, 1 = Revan romanced Bastila, 2 = Revan romanced Carth, and 3= Revan romanced both. (If numerics can be double digits, I'd probably want to write it so that 00 = male Revan romanced no one, 01 = female Revan romanced no one, etc. Just to make it easier on Felix when he ends up using these scripts in Alternate Revan Romances 2.0, so he's not constantly needing to check Revan's sex, too.) I'd like to know both how to script the numeric being set (probably in an early conversation with Kreia or T3), and how to script in the later conversations with Bastila's holocron / Carth + Bastila.
  2. Bao-Dur being gone is normal. I believe that in the original game he was supposed to die, and I am so glad pretty much everyone is ignoring that bit of content when they consider restorations. You need to finish the Fuel quest before you head to the Enclave for the final time. You might have to search more to find your team mates- the Trayus academy is a big place, and they're in a very specific location. Do you mind throwing up a map of where you looked? I can take a screenshot of where you find them. (If they're not anywhere, that's a bug.)
  3. Yes, it's true! KotorTools can be made to run on a Mac! (Or, I suppose, a Linux machine, but this tutorial assumes you have a Mac. If you're a Linux user this is probably useful, but I have no idea how Wine looks on a Linux.) After months of opening KotorTools in Wine and only being able to use the 2da editor for 2das that had already been extracted, irrational-pie and felixfelicitas came up with a way to properly install it on a Mac. No longer shall we be bound to this hell, etc. This tutorial will go into "I have never even touched Wine before" detail, for those of us who have never even touched Wine before. If you have, the bolded instructions should be sufficient. The instructions with pictures are all found here. Click the images to enlarge, etc. You will need: the setup .exe for kotortools Wineskin Winery 1. Create a new blank wrapper for KotOR Tool. Open Wineskin Winery. If you don't already have it, add "WS9Wine1.7.35" to your engines. (It will probably work on others, but when I used 1.2.3 the 2da editor crashed every few minutes. This is just one that I know works.) Create new blank wrapper. Name it kotortools. Or whatever you want, really. It's your party. When it's building the wrapper, it'll ask you about network connection, gecko, and mono. Say yes to the connection. Don't install mono or gecko. When it finishes, click view in finder. You should see kotortools.app. Drag it wherever you want kotortools to live- Applications folder, desktop, doesn't matter. You can move it later, too, but I always forget where it automatically saves. (And feel free to close Winery, you're done over there.) Then, right click it and "show package contents." Open wineskin.app. Hit advanced. 2. Using Winetricks, download dotnet20 (under dllls). Head to the tools tab. The first thing under Utilities is Winetricks. Open that. Under dllls, you'll find dotnet20. Check the box and hit "run." You'll have to wait for a bit while it downloads, then do a bit of button-clicking to install it. It’ll take a while to do that, too. Be patient. Once that’s done, close the Winetricks. You’re done there. 3. Open your registry editor (regedit). Still on the tools tab, there's regedit. Open that up. (If you're having trouble running kotortools on a windows machine, the registry is probably where you're going wrong there, too.) For KoTOR: Under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/Software, highlight Software. Edit>New>Key. Make this chain of folders: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\BioWare\SW\KOTOR. Highlight KOTOR. Edit>New>String Value. Name the Value "Path," and under data enter wherever your KOTOR game is. If you’ve ever used TSLPatcher to install a mod, the log for that mod will have your path in it. The standard path is something like Z:\Your User Name\Library\Application Support\Steam\SteamApps\common\swkotor\Knights of the Old Republic.app\Contents\KOTOR Data. Don't just copy/paste this! Actually go check! The Z:\ on the front is very important. If you have the Mac version of KotOR through Steam, don't point it at Knights of the Old Republic.app. You'll need to go further and add Contents\KOTOR Data. For TSL: The above, under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\LucasArts\KotOR2. Paths will vary wildly, depending on where you put however you run KotOR 2. Remember the Z:\. You’re done here. Close regedit. 4. Download the exe into the wrapper. Under the Configuration tab, hit "Install Software" and point it at your setup .exe. When that's done, make sure that the Windows EXE path is "/Program Files/Kotor Tool/kotor_tool.exe" And that's it! Boot it up and make sure it finds your games!

  5. File Name: Sparkling Mira File Submitter: forgetcanon File Submitted: 12 Mar 2015 File Category: Skins Includes four Mira head textures. “Eyes only” is exactly what it says: All it does is replace Mira’s eyes with a texture with more depth and highlights. “makeup 1” slightly touches up Mira’s vanilla makeup to make it more vibrant. “makeup 2” adds more pink tones to Mira’s makeup. My personal favorite- her eyes really pop. “makeup 3” adds more green tones to Mira’s makeup. Suggestions for future reskins? Feel free to PM them to me here or to contact me on tumblr. 7. Nice! I'm always up for new clothes. As a side note, I managed to make Kotortools work on a Mac through wine. Want me to PM you the instructions?
  8. I play on a mac too. Just a few days ago my Wine!Steam setup got the "game already running" error, so I got the GoG version. I'm running that with a Porting Kit wrapper and so far everything's going great. I can even see the cutscenes now. They were always white and blocked out in the Steam version.
  9. Actually, I've tried to use that many times, since KotorTools doesn't work on my computer. (Well, it works. It just doesn't find the path to the game.) If I try to run TGA2TPC through Wine, nothing happens. If I try to run it with VMware, I get a black box and nothing happens. If anyone has any tips to fix either problem I'd appreciate it a lot. Running to my friends and asking them "hey can you export all the (black female heads / g_a_clothes / lightmap for the ebon hawk) for me" is getting kind of old. (Should I start a new thread for this?)
  10. Alright, thank you very much. I'll try that.
  11. For K1: Resized Eyes, definitely. Bastila Romance Enhancement and Carth Romance are both such nice additions Patterned Robes are beautiful, though they require a bit of manual 2da editing. (If you're a male Revan player, there's a male version included with BoS.) For TSL: Redrob's Player and Party Underwear is pretty essential tbh, especially if you have a female PC. The Mira retexture alone is worth it. Handmaiden 4 Females, Disciple 4 Males is great. Remote tells influence and Workbench Attunement are both two little mods that make everything so much easier The handsister fix is aesthetic but so necessary the Dustil Restoration is worth it for at least one run, it adds maybe... ten minutes? to the game. (If you use this one and m4-78 there's a shared voice actor, so it can get a little jarring.)
  12. Are there any mods that alter the lighting in the Ebon Hawk? As is, it's incredibly dark and any gifs or screenshots I take on the ship have to go through Photoshop Hell. There's the brightness cheat, but it doesn't look natural and doesn't even make things bright enough, half the time. Any help would be appreciated. (How would someone even go about altering the lighting?)
  13. Just to be sure... you're executing the patcher, yes? You double click it, a program comes up, and you run that? You're not just dropping it into your Override?
  14. File Name: Dark Skin Girls 1.0 File Submitter: forgetcanon File Submitted: 08 Feb 2015 File Category: Skins Dark Skin Girls for TSL 1.0 by forgetcanon http://babedur.tumblr.com/ Description: Darkens the skin tones of the black female PCs. Not quite enough to earn the name “Dark Skin Girls,” imho, but they’re certainly far browner than the vanillas. Includes darker underwear texture and dancer outfit. Unfortunately, any underwear or dancer reskin will feature a skintone mismatch with these heads. 2.0 or other releases may include underwear or dancer variations. There are also no dark side transitions included with this release. If you have any suggestions or requests for the future, please send them to me on tumblr or deadlystream. To Install: Drag into Override. To Uninstall: remove once more. Thanks to: jaybauman, my partner in crime, for extracting the textures for me. Malkior and Dastardly, for telling me what on Earth an “alpha channel” is. xoriu for the brown eye texture found here. http://xoriu.deviantart.com/art/MMD-Naturae-Eye-Texture-249285720 Feel free to use, edit, display, etc these textures with credit. 17. Alright, I've been trying to edit my Exile's head. I put a new eye texture on her in Adobe Illustrator, exported as a tga... and when I put it in the Override, she's headless. The TGA in question is here. Why is this happening? How do I fix it? EDIT: Solved! There's was some shenanigans with the alpha channel being black. Here's the finished product.
  18. Hey, I'm working on a reskinning project that will essentially reskin the black female PCs so they're far darker than the vanilla heads. It'll include the canon underwear and dancer outfit. Preview here. I'm interested in making a second version that'll make them far darker (think Lupita Nyong'o) but I'm worried about them looking like crap. I'm also making a few variations for some of the heads- PFHB05 is my canon Exile and the picture in the preview already has brown eyes instead of the vanilla green. This would, of course, make every underwear mod out there incompatible, which... sucks. So I might at the very least include a few alternate colors for the vanilla underwear and the dancer outfit. Thoughts?

  20. Thank you all so much for the help! I ended up editing the line in appearance.2da, and my problem was the F/B issue. I still don't know why the Carth head worked before while the Bastila one didn't, but it all seems to be working now, so... One of life's mysteries. Again, thank you all so much for the advice.
  21. So I've been trying to alter Revan's appearance on Korriban in TSL. (Revan lives at line 22 in appearance.2da.) If I set Revan to any "male" models (such as Carth), Revan appears without a problem with whatever model I set. If I set Revan to any "female" models (such as Bastila), Revan appears without a head. This is pretty annoying, because I'm trying to make Revan appear female. (Specifically, a modified Luxa head that looks like PFHA01 from K1 and Traya robes, though I may change the clothes.) Any tips? I don't know where to start to fix this.
  22. Holy crap, thank you so much! I was pulling my hair out earlier because of the same issue. And... this might seem like a long shot... The newest Kotortools (1.0.2~) has a pathing issue that means I can't run it completely on my computer. I can start it, I can edit 2DAs with it, but it won't do much else. A few forum posts around here have said that older versions don't have the pathing issue. You wouldn't happen to have an older version of kotortools hanging around, would you?
