Blog #7 - Creating a closing credits video

Hey folks!

I'm in the process of making a video series but I have to think a few steps ahead to making an end credits scroll which would simulate the credits scrolls for the movies and the KOTOR games.

I know the fonts to use . . .

. . . and I have those fonts (among many, many others.)

But I don't know of a free program that can accurately simulate the actual scrolling. No, I don't own Photoshop and I can't afford it so that's pretty much out as an option. I'd appreciate any free (or at least relatively inexpensive) suggestions that anyone could offer.

You mean like the star wars crawl at the start? And you just need it for a video?

You can make do a decent job of that in Window Movie Maker. You need to make the font the smallest size and change the title animation to "Scroll perspective".

Any sort of video editing software can do it really. Just send me a PM if you need help.

Well I've used Windows Movie Maker in the past in this video but it doesn't give it the quality I'm hoping for. I'm trying to see if I can get a scroll to work in my copy of Sony Vegas Movie Studio HD.

I'm interested in your assistance.

Dumb question, and I hope you don't mind my asking, but what about using PowerPoint?

It has a pretty decent level of visual quality and is incredibly easy to edit.

I think that I MAY have the rendering the credits issue solved now. If I screw it up, I will be back. LOL
