Installing TSLpatcher mods without the exe

Recommended Posts

Good day,

My friend recently asked me for help with installing a few mods for their new playthrough of KOTOR II. Specifically, we were trying to install PartySwap 1.3.3, but the computer being used is a Mac (OS Big Sur). When I played KOTOR on my Mac a few computers ago, I knew how to just copy/paste the files from a mod download into the correct folders, but right now I'm rusty and I don't want to mess up anything on their computer. Can anyone walk me through which folders need to be dumped where when not using TSLpatcher?

Thank you!

Mods mostly use the TSL Patcher to change existing files, previously modded or not, to keep mods compatible with each other.
You could use it in a mod to only simply move files from A to B, but that's not really what it's made for and would not add much.
So, it's safe to assume that a mod that uses the Patcher really needs it and that you can't replace what it does with copy pasting files. I had a quick look at the files, copy/paste won't do the trick.

Theoretically you could read the changes.ini file and make all the changes manually in lieu of running TSLPatcher. You know, if you were crazy.

If you have temporary access to a PC you could install all the mods on there and then copy the Override/dialog.tlk/any affected Modules across to the Mac.
