Alternate game installation location other than C drive?

Apparently, I've had my KOTOR 2 4 CD edition game installed on my Windows 10 C drive all this time, and in a conversation with another forum member, he recommended that I should reinstall the game under another location, excluding the C drive. Any thoughts or suggestions on an alternate location? Thanks!

Any location other than Program Files and root directory on any drive will work. I have my games (GOG version) installed in D:\Games\SWKotOR and D:\Games\SWKotOR2.
