Technical Vertex Buffer Difficulties

Recommended Posts

So everyone knows about Aspyr's update to KOTOR 2 that broke the lightsaber textures and everyone knows they can enable "Disable Vertex Buffer Objects" in the Configuration settings. But I've scoured across the interwebs to find that no one (to my knowledge) has this issue besides me:

I'm not sure if it's my computer or if there's an easy fix to this I'm not seeing, but hey... at least the lightsabers work :\

And just to avoid "What's your computer like" comments...

I have a Lenovo Intel PC

My Processor is an Intel® Core i3-4150 CPU @ 3.50GHz

My Graphics Card is an Intel® HD Graphics 4400 Card

My OS is Microsoft Windows 8.1 (build 9600), 64-bit

If anyone has a solution or even knows if it's possible to fix this, PLEASE let me know (and let me know if I'm missing any PC Info)

You're not the only one who has this issue. I get the absolute same visual glitches when I put spaces in the "DisableVertexBufferObjects" line. The good thing is the textures for the double-bladed lightsaber hilts stop flickering, like you said.

This is most likely the main problem. In my experience, the game HATES integrated graphics; has issues with AMD cards and works fine on nVidia cards.

No, this issue is definitely universal. I've encountered the same visual glitches (Khoonda Plains, Valley of the Dark Lords, Bastila's model and Adana's model, which can also be seen in Iziz) on my R9 270 as well as on my GTX 1070.

Oh snap, I have a 1070 as well, but haven’t run into such issues. But also, I don’t have the Steam version. Hmmmmmmm

Perhaps I should investigate and see if I can reproduce

Is it possible to fix the flickering/missing hilt textures without editing the configuration file?

I really hope so, but I doubt it. The Aspyr Update was hard-coded into the game, so editing something like that would range from extremely difficult to impossible

Lol you people don't do much looking eh?

"Self-induced coma" has already fixed it.
