Mellowtron11 180 Posted July 13, 2017 Pretty much what the title thread says: why didn't the Sith Assassins use force powers like Drain Life and Force Push while fighting the Exile and company? Kreia states several times in-game that they are Force-sensitive and can feed on their prey's life and force energies. Did the Developers forget to add it in or something? What do you folks think? For more info, here's some useful links for more reading. http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Sith_assassin http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Force-sensitive/Legends Video of one of Kreia's explanation of how the Assassins operate nearby Force-sensitives (Skip to the 2:25 mark to reach the proper dialogue sequence). Malkior 476 Posted July 14, 2017 I assume it's to avoid a balancing issue, since you fight them primarily on the first level in the game, and their vibrostaves already do a fair amount of damage. Honestly, it makes no sense to buff their attack to match the player's, as it's not like someone with more force power suddenly hits harder. If you want to match the description they should hit with roughly the same damage as two vibroblades and carry an equivalent amount of Force power with Force Drain Life or Death Field to match the player. (maybe throw in Slow or Cripple to give variety)
Mellowtron11 180 Posted July 21, 2017 Good point on that. I guess I was getting too much into the lore. But regarding the Assassins' hitting power, I never had any trouble, even with the difficult difficulty on (then again, it isn't that difficult). If you also look at the combat log, the assassins' combat stats are pretty dismal, with a strength mod of -1 and a dual wield penalty of -6 (so only the first rank of dual wielding feat). So yeah, they don't really hit that hard.
JCarter426 1,214 Posted July 21, 2017 The Sith assassins can't use the Force. They've had the same training Atton did to shield their minds from Jedi, and the technique also blinds them to the Force. They throw up walls of emotion that mess with a Jedi's senses because Jedi have to block that out to use the Force. Consequentially this makes it difficult for the assassins to use the Force themselves. They do use the Force in the sense that they use it to become invisible, sense their prey, weaken them, etc but they are not typical Force users. Essentially they specialize in negating the Force, and it would also negate their own Force.
