gthegenerous 1 Posted June 6, 2017 I really like VP's canon Surik (http://deadlystream.com/forum/files/file/213-vp-modders-source-compilation/). However, there is a visible "rough line" on her model like this: It can be really bothering for people who notice details like this and it makes her face looks unnatural. As far as my 3DS Max knowledge goes, I believe you can easily smooth these lines. However, I'm no longer have the time and the tools to fix this for myself. I would appreciate it if someone could smooth these lines, thank you for considering my request.
DarthParametric 3,783 Posted June 6, 2017 That is present in Max/GMax because of the way MDLOps splits meshes along UV boundaries. It would appear though that in-game it is fine (presumably any changes VP made were done with Tainia's replacer specifically for that reason). While you can fix it in Max/Gmax, it requires welding both the relevant tex verts along the UV seam/s and welding the mesh verts along the same seam/s. This will destroy all skin weights. What does need fixing is the shadows. He has shadows enabled for a few of the hair danglymeshes, which gives some wild tentacle shadow action, and the head bone has its shadow flag disabled, so there's a hole in shadow where the head should be. Easy enough to rectify with some hex editing.
gthegenerous 1 Posted June 6, 2017 Strange, in my game the same rough lines appeared, I'm not on PC right now so I can't take screenshot. Maybe it's on my end but can someone verify it happens ingame as well?
DarthParametric 3,783 Posted June 6, 2017 Ah, my apologies. I was looking at it in the bit just after you emerge from the kolto tank, and it would seem the softer lighting there masks it. Shoving her head directly under a light makes it obvious.
gthegenerous 1 Posted June 6, 2017 I'm glad it's not my imagination . Still, it would be great if someone could fix this along with the medusa shadow hair bug. There are all sort of things I don't like in each vanilla's female heads and VP's was the only one managed to nail it for me.
DarthParametric 3,783 Posted June 6, 2017 If VP allows it, I think I have a fix for it. Perhaps we can summon him to this thread with the appropriate rituals.

VarsityPuppet 1,085 Posted June 6, 2017 If VP allows it, I think I have a fix for it. Perhaps we can summon him to this thread with the appropriate rituals. I'm still working out the details of the summoning ritual. Right now, I just search for 'VP'. I'm glad it's not my imagination . There are all sort of things I don't like in each vanilla's female heads and VP's was the only one managed to nail it for me. Yeah sorry about the medusa shadow hair. I thought I was being clever by allowing all of the meshes to cast shadows. Big mistake. I tried to re-export the head and fix it, but it didn't work for whatever reason. Funny enough though, the head is made of two vanilla heads... It was made as a resource so I'm sure you can do whatever you wish as long as you give credit to him Yeah go for it DP
DarthParametric 3,783 Posted June 6, 2017 Here, try this gthegenerous and see if you can spot any issues: http://dpmods.wheb.org/files/kotor/tsl/VP_Female_Exile_PFHC06_Fix.7z There's still a small seam at the base of the ears to the start of the jawline, but that's as good as it is going to get for the moment. Shadows fixed as well. If it looks ok then maybe VP can replace the model in his current version with this one. I'm still working out the details of the summoning ritual. It requires a pentagram and an artefact to bind your soul to, but I ran out of sacrificial goats before I could work out the kinks.

Would be nice to get rid of all the seams, but maybe in time It requires a pentagram and an artefact to bind your soul to, but I ran out of sacrificial goats before I could work out the kinks. No sacrificial goats required! Seek and you shall find
gthegenerous 1 Posted June 6, 2017 Wow! Thank you all for your amazing works! This is certainly one of the best modding community out there Anyhow, if you need help on the summoning ritual, give me a call. I couldn't give you my soul but you can *ahem* "borrow" some of my virgin blood!

gthegenerous 1 Posted July 23, 2017 Sorry for the bump, but I have noticed an odd black spot near her lips that didn't happen to the old model. @DarthParametric: I hope I won't bother you too much but any chances you could fix this for me?
DarthParametric 3,783 Posted July 23, 2017 Shading errors from being all one smoothing group. I'll have a look when I get the chance. Edit: I'm having some difficulty getting it fixed. This is not perfect, but see if it is an improvement - https://www.darthparametric.com/files/kotor/tsl/VP_Female_Exile_PFHC06_Fix_2.7z
