No Lightsaber Quest


====No Lightsaber Quest V1.5 by Hassat Hunter====

 

This modification will remove the Lightsaber Quest mission from the game. The PC will get his first lightsaber (a generic green one-handed) on Telos, and any drops afterwards will be lightsabers (random), not parts. The player never receives the Lightsaber quest.

This mod should work with all language versions of TSLRCM.

 

Changelist;

0.9-1.0

* Made the modified script actually work (darn typo's). Told you it was untested.

* Made sure the Bao-Dur Ebon Hawk cutscene about your lightsaber no longer runs

 

1.0-1.1

* Fixed getting a part and the quest in the following instances; Finding Vash, killing Lootra & Opening the hoard of Vogga. They should now properly donate lightsabers.

 

1.1-1.2

* Fixed getting the quest and a lightsaber part in the following instances; After killing Vrook & When killing a Cannok on Dxun.

* Fixed getting a part instead of a full lightsaber in the following instances; Both above & when killing Lootra.

 

1.2-1.3

* Fixed Kaevee encounter.

 

1.3-1.4

* TSLRCM 1.8 Update. Lightsaber scripts now use VarsityPuppet's random Lightsaber color drop function used in 1.8.

 

1.4-1.5

* Nobody mentioned lightsabers didn't drop anymore due to above update. Shows how popular this mod is :/.

Oh well, fixed. Lightsabers will drop again, as per 1.8's new lootscript.

 

==Install Instructions==

* Drop the files from "Override" in the override folder (backup "k_death_give_ls.ncs" and "a_give_quest_ls.ncs" if you're using TSLRCM 1.8!). Source folder is interesting only for other modders, ignore it if you're not.

 

==Uninstall==

* Remove the following 7 files (204habat.dlg, durosdock.dlg, a_give_quest_ls.ncs, a_give_quest_lsc.ncs, a_open_vash_cage.ncs and k_dth_give_ls_lo.ncs, k_dth_givels_rct.ncs) from your override folder. Replace "k_death_give_ls.ncs" and "a_give_quest_ls.ncs" with your backup from TSLRCM 1.8.

You should post it elsewhere, i have this felling that a lot of people will like it.
I haven't tested the telos part, but so far the only problem is Bao-Dur saying that stuff about crafting the lightsaber, geez, if was me, i would have used force crush to shut him up.
That part of the dialog can't be removed?

I think you get the the Lightsaber when you first get to Telos, before you meet Bao-Dur.

The point is, i don't want that dialog, Bao-Dur shouldn't be messing with jedi stuff.

It's really, really strange when that dialog still happens, even when you don't even have the quest

Yes, is not that the only place where he talks about it?

Bao-Dur mentioning the lightsaber quest in any part should be removed also.

Also, do i need to have an save before that telos part? cause when i installed this mod, i was on the polar plateu already... And then instead of getting a new lightsaber i got the fixture cell after beating visas.

 

EDIT: i have erased all the content from the baosaber.dlg, apparently it solves the bao-dur problem.

Want me to upload it here? or you don't need...

Ehm... yes? Because otherwise it wont have the global set that I made it check for, and you'll get parts all the way until Bao makes you your saber (which may be very very buggy).

 

Don't got an EBO_onter.nss anymore (:)) so I couldn't exactly check the requirements of the cutscene there.

Erasing all the content from baosaber.dlg with dlgeditor_232 seems to fix the bao-dur dialog issue, also, i've used the KSE to set my crafting lightsaber quest to completed to see if that will fix that part.

Edit: I've also set the global crafting lightsaber to 1, guess it will be alright now. =) Thx for the help.

Edit2: Hey, isn't a nice idea putting a new version of this mod with the baosaber.dlg empty, so Bao-Dur never stars any chat about your lightsaber? So far it worked for me.

Damm, my save is still having problems with this quest, since i've installed the mod after telos, so, what numerals and booleans i need to change with KSE to start getting lightsabers instead of LS parts? (and what valors should they have?)

Edit: Do your mod already set the global boolean CUT_BAODUR_LIGHTSABER to 1? that would help with him not talking about lightsabers, but not all the lightsaber dialog i think... dunno.

If you fail finding what the boolean is... ask yourself how many part you still need, choose as much number random from 1 to 3. Afterwards, open this spoiler tag

and give yourself one saber per number with KSE: 1 for normal, 2 for double bladed and one for short lightsaber. This will help you get sabers you would have had if the boolean was activated anyway... and save you some time.

I still don't know which ones to change, i've set the 000_lightsaber_built to 1 in global booleans and in the numerals i can only guess 000_LightsaberQuest; which i have already set to numbers from 0 to 6 (i'm trying to get the lightsaber from jorran after saving him)... so far it failed... i really don't want to start a new game to have it working so help please =p

Edit: Btw i dont have any part, and i dont need any... (erased them with KSE).

The new script (with the mod) requires 000_lightsaber_built set to 1 before getting lightsabers. Without it you need to set the QuestValue for the quest to 50 for lightsabers to appear.

Yeah, I noticed the cutscene required just leaving Telos as requirement instead of a questvalue or part or something, so I will add that global boolean set in 1.0 :D.

 

Edit; Haha, I put it as "build" instead of "built" in the script, no wonder it doesn't work for you... *goes updating his mod to work*

Guess theres a little problem with this mod, related to only one exclusive part of the game; vogga the hutt secret chamber, the container which should have a new random lightsaber, has the lightsaber fixture cell... i don't know what happened, maybe it could be fixed by replacing that container with non-random stuff, including a normal blue lightsaber for e.g.

Well, HaVoKeR, I'll have to say I did get a lightsaber from this container at least a couple of time. Could-it be that you still haven't got through your problem with the ltsbr?

Another non-function lightsaber drop; the one you get from master vash corpse (got the ls fixture cell again).

I'm still getting this quest even with the mod installed. I started at the beginning of telos and got to where Chodo still gives the lightsaber fixture which starts the quest..

I think I fixed that part. My WinAce has been acting weird so now I have to drag the files and place them into the destination folder. weird...

I'm afraid I got the fixture from Vogga's warehouse as well. I haven't got to Korriban in this playthrough yet, will update this post if I encounter any more problems.

Dont know if it has been mentioned before, but i think that when you buy (or kill =p) LS stuff from jorran (or maybe something close of it) in dantoine you still get a part, am i wrong? i thought i had reported this already. What a memory glimpse...
