zaiyan 0 Posted August 13, 2015 After starting a new game after the recent Steam patch I've noticed that the music playing in the background will get quieter (as if to muffle itself) during certain parts of the game. My music levels are turned all the way up to 100 and I can hear the music clearly when running around and in combat etc. but whenever I talk to another character or access a computer terminal / workbench it gets very very quiet. I first really noticed this when meeting Kreia for the first time, when the ominous music starts playing as she walks up to you its quite hard to hear rather than playing at the same level as when I'm running around. I don't ever remember this occurring when I've played KOTOR II before the recent patch, and I even looked at older gameplay footage on YouTube and the music level change between talking and running about seems to be very negligible. I fiddled around with different settings in the .ini file related to the sound (since I can't seem to find 'Force Hardware' in the menu options for the sound) and nothing has fixed it. I'm currently running TSLCRM 1.8.4 and various texture mods.
DarthParametric 3,783 Posted August 13, 2015 There are a few sound bugs that were introduced with the update. Hopefully they will be patched by Aspyr.
zaiyan 0 Posted August 13, 2015 Hopefully it will be patched, and thanks for the reply. Didn't know if I was going to be left in the dark on the topic.
Bubble181 0 Posted August 20, 2015 Not entirely related, but I couldn't really find a better place to put this question and it seems ridiculous to make a separate thread: I want to use the "Dark Side points gained" sound ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aSPtWMEwIhg ) as my messages ring tone. However, firstly, I have no idea which sound file it *is*, or even if it's in the streamsounds or streammusic folder....and secondly, despite trying to rename the files as .mp3 and such as suggeted elsewhere on this forum, I can't actually get any of the files in there to play. I'd use the YT link posted, but that unfortunately has a few menu bleeps in there which would get annoying pretty fast.... Anyone who can tell me which file it is and/or could just upload it somewhere easy? :-) Thank you
Kexikus 995 Posted August 20, 2015 mus_kreiaevil is the file you're looking for I think. It is a bit longer than the youtube link you posted but otherwise the same. And it's located in the streammusic folder. Edit: Alternatively you can use mus_s_darkside. It's in the same folder and I couldn't hear any difference compared to kreiaevil.
Guest R2-X2 Posted August 20, 2015 As another alternative, just download the youtube video's audio.
Fair Strides 509 Posted August 21, 2015 As another alternative, just download the youtube video's audio. He said there were menu sounds in it that would get annoying really fast.
