osamaclees 0 Posted January 24, 2015 Hi. Every time I try to load the game, my PC restarts and then when it has comes up with "recovered from serious error" issueIt happens mostly as soon as the game starts to load. Sometimes I can get a couple of the start up screens (the LucasArts logo etc) and only once it actually started and i was able to start a new game but as soon as I had created my character and clicked "play" my PC restarted. i have the 4 disc version (us) patched it to 1.0b, installed the latest version of TSLRCM then installed the planet m4-78 all done completely as instructed. I've uninstalled reinstalled a few times and still exactly the same. I'm not getting freezes CTDs, my PC actually restarts. I have no other mods whatsoever 1) When did the problem begin to occur? Straight away i haven't even been able to play the prologue2) Did you install the latest version of the mod?Yes3) What version of the game do you have? (Steam, 4CD, KotOR Collection?) What region is the game designed for if it's the 4 CD version? 4CD, US version 4) Did you update your game as required by your game's region? (Updates are included in the Steam version. Skip this question if you are using that.) Yes 5) Did you install this over the previous version(s), or did you perform a fresh installation as required by the TSLRCM's read-me file? No, game wasn't even installed before this, clean and fresh install 6) Did you use the TSLPatcher, if provided?Don't know - downloaded the patch directly from the Disney site 7) Were there any errors in the TSLPatcher installation? No errors, i don't know if i used this patcher, but the patch installed correctly according to whatever i used 8) What other mods have you installed? Please give an accurate list and provide links to each of these mods - even if they are found on this site. (We don't actually know them all!.) No mods 9) Can you be more specific about the error? At what point did it happen? Usually instantly, as soon as i double click on swkotor2.exe, PC instantly restarts, very occasionally as mentioned i can get to the intro "logos" but I've never actually been able to start playing at all 10) Have you tried re-downloading the mod?Yes11) Have you tried using a different save game?n/a 12) Have you tried starting a new game?n/a13) What Operating System do you use? (List Virtual Machines as well if you are using them.) Windows XP - 32bit
Malkior 476 Posted January 24, 2015 That sounds like a severe driver error or even a hardware problem. Honestly the BSOD is incredibly worse than a CTD. Have you tried running any other games on your PC, and did you have similar results? It may help though to try updating your graphic drivers, just in case. Additionally, if you can get a log file of your error, (admin tools-> system reports -> warning/ error) you can find out what happened usually by searching for the error code on the internet. Though this process may require further explanation unrelated to the mod or Kotor in general.
Fair Strides 509 Posted January 24, 2015 What are your system's specs? It could very well be that your computer simply can't play the game. You can: Disable Movies Disable Frame Buffer Effects Use hardware mouse Disable sound Set Textures to Low Turn V-Sync on/off, the opposite of what it currently is. Run the "Scan Hardware" piece of the Config and post a picture of the results(imgure, photobucket, imageshack, .etc)

That's very odd as my card is way better than recommended. I have the latest drivers installed.
VarsityPuppet 1,085 Posted January 24, 2015 Could be the game exe itself, maybe?
DiamondchessMaster 0 Posted February 14, 2015 I believe it is either your settings or possibly you could have bought a corrupted copy of the game, it might help if you try buying the steam version of the game and returning the other copy. I think that is probably the problem.
