MrPhil Posted June 2, 2014 Posted June 2, 2014 (edited) I've just noticed that my save folder is empty. This is bullspit, as I have something like a hundred saves that I can access in game. Anyone has a clue how that could be? Edit: Solution has been found by Hassat Hunter: Quick googling later:C:\Users\[user name]\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files (x86)\LucasArts\SWKotOR2\Saves\ Basically, you copy your saves from there to where they should be! VarsityPuppet Posted June 2, 2014 Posted June 2, 2014 Windows 7 has some weird issues with file permissions and hidden files. Don't know exactly what it could be though. So are your saves still there? Quote
MrPhil Posted June 2, 2014 Author Posted June 2, 2014 They are there in the game, but I cannot seem to find them in their folder. Hidden files are set to always show... I'll try and fiddle with things, but properties says there are no files in the folder :/ Quote
Hassat Hunter Posted June 2, 2014 Posted June 2, 2014 If you're not an administrator they are hidden somewhere in Users/[user]/Some deep location you probably need to google. Do note that if you ever become administrator it can no longer see those files AT ALL since it will start using it's proper location in [wherever you installed KOTOR2]/saves Quote
MrPhil Posted June 3, 2014 Author Posted June 3, 2014 (edited) I set my user as administrator from the start, but windows 8 and 7 seems to be a bitch in this matter. I'll try to find them in that user thing. Edit: I'm still set as admin. Do you think reinstalling the whole game might succeed in making me able to access these saves? Hassat Hunter Posted June 3, 2014 Posted June 3, 2014 Quick googling later: C:\Users\[user name]\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files (x86)\LucasArts\SWKotOR2\Saves\ If you do, you have to manually copy your saves away from there, or the game wont recognise them as it looks in the proper place isntead... VarsityPuppet Posted June 3, 2014 Posted June 3, 2014 This is why I prefer macs now. They generally don't have dumb issues like this, although occasionally things like this do happen. Glad it got sorted. Quote
MrPhil Posted June 3, 2014 Author Posted June 3, 2014 Maybe we could pin this little bit of knowledge? Quote
