Missing combat animation for special attacks

Recommended Posts

Hi
I started playing this mod a week ago or so and now - all of a sudden - I have no combat animations for special attacks (flurry etc.)
Animations for ordinary attacks work fine, but whenever I activate a special attack, my character just stands there, not moving.
The enemy still receives damage, though, as if the attacks were made (which they obviously are, just not visually.)

1) When did the problem begin to occur?
All of a sudden - no specific occasion

2) Did you install the latest version of the mod?
Yes

3) What version of the game do you have? (Steam, 4CD, KotOR Collection?) What region is the game designed for if it's the 4 CD version?
Steam

4) Did you update your game as required by your game's region?
No update required

5) Did you install this over the previous version(s), or did you perform a fresh installation as required by the TSLRCM's read-me file?
Fresh

6) Did you use the TSLPatcher, if provided?
I don't know what that is

7) Were there any errors in the TSLPatcher installation?
... [i don't know]

8) What other mods did you have installed? Please give an accurate list and provide links to each of these mods - even if they are found on this site. (We don't actually know them all!.)
Widescreen fix

9) Can you be more specific about the error? At what point did it happen?
It just started one day

10) Have you tried re-downloading the mod?

Yes

11) Have you tried using a different save game?
Yes - I'm on citadel right now and I tried to load a save from Peragus but it's the same problem

12) Have you tried starting a new game?
Yes - same problem. Animations for special attacks are missing.

Query: How long have you been using TSLRCM 1.8.3?

Query: When did you start using it?

Query: Are there any other visual errors/bugs that you see, or is that it?

Statement: I have a couple of theories. Hopefully it's the better of the two. I'll wait for others to ask queries and give their thoughts before I give the best theory I can come up with.

Hi - thanks for your feedback!

I have never used anything but TSLRCM 1.8.3

I discovered this game and the mod simultaniously around the 25th of march - apparently about a week after the realease of TSLRCM 1.8.3.

Its a great mod, by the way! Impressive work - I was having a blast untill I ran into this issue.

No other visual bugs really.

I had the camera get stuck on me one time - no problem, just reloaded the game.

Sometimes the game will freeze if I ALT-tab out of it and only returns after a longer period.

Nothing big.

I'm on Windows 7 and am running the .exe under Windows XP mode.

Oh, one thing. I had a problem with the game getting stuck when trying to leave Peragus.

Researched online and guessed it was a video problem.

I solved it by running the .exe under XP mode.

Just realised that the last line in my previous post might sound like I have resolved this issue myself now.

I haven't! :-) I was just mentioning an earlier issue I had.

So if anyone out there think they can help with this, I would be very grateful for them to pitch in.

Its such a shame to have to stop playing this gem of a game+mod.

I deleted the old animations.2da from the overrride folder (renamed it to be exact) and then pasted the one I extracted with the Kotor Tool into the folder to replace it.

Haven't had any missing animations since.
