Turambar 10 Posted September 14, 2010 Hello Deadly Stream Community, I'm from Germany and English is not my native language, so I want to apologize for some stupid grammar mistakes and so on . I ordered KotoR II from a British eBay trader. It's going to arrive on Thursday. My firs question is, can I set the language of the English version to German? I think I understand everything well, but I would prefer a German translation. My other Questions are about the Restore Mod: 1: For what stands TSLRCM? 2: Is the mod complete, or still in developing? 3: Are all things restored? Is there a bigger Project? 4: Do I need a patch for the main game? 5: If I install a possible patch, is this http://swmod.com/mods/TSLRCM16a.exe the only file I need? Markus Ramikin 107 Posted September 14, 2010 No idea about anything regarding language versions, I'll let someone else answer that. I'll answer just the things I know: 1. The Sith Lords Restored Content Mod 2. It's "complete" in the sense that versions intended as final have been released and 1.6 is perfectly playable; however 1.7 it's being worked on. 3. As I understand it, everything was restored as long as it didn't require adding too much non-Obsidian content. For instance the HK factory level was restored. Some content was just too incomplete for a "restoration" mod to use it, because lots of things would have to be created by the modders to complete it. I believe the Genoharaddan plot and the Droid Planet are such content. I also believe these two are subjects of separate mods from TSLRCM, though I'm not interested in those so I can't tell you more about that. 4. I don't know if you need it. I patched mine. 5. Yeah. Note that I am just a player like yourself and I don't speak for the mod owners.
Guest Darth_Shan Posted September 14, 2010 1. The Sith Lords Restored Content Modification 2. It's complete but the authors are constantly looking for ways to improve it (much like patching a real game) 3. It doesn't restore content wich doesn't make sense or if there just aren't enough game files left to restore it. 4. It's not required to play TSLRCM but it would be best of you update your game to 1.0b (patches for TSL can be found at lucasarts.com) 5. TSLRCM 1.6a is the most recent version so no patches required! EDIT: damn you Markus
Hassat Hunter 571 Posted September 14, 2010 And no, you cannot change the language. I am not sure if the German version has German VO (I think it has, no?) but your best bet would be to find a German Dialog.TLK file and let it override your english one. Not everything would turn German, but a lot of stuff would...
Turambar 10 Posted September 16, 2010 Thanks for replay . I'm very sad about the incompatibility of the TSLRCM and M4-78 mod, but I think the developers work very hard on solutions. Now I want to start a new game: which planets should I visit first for a fast repair of HK47?
Markus Ramikin 107 Posted September 16, 2010 I don't think it particularly matters. I'm pretty sure you can get him done on your first planet, whichever you choose. Someone correct me though, I always go Dantooine first so I'm not 100% sure.
Hassat Hunter 571 Posted September 16, 2010 Yeah, in vanilla it's definitely Nar Shaddaa, but since TSLRCM drops HK parts in the HK-50 encounters it's pretty much anywhere (and NS probably last). I would say Korriban.
MrPhil 58 Posted September 17, 2010 Or you can get this mod (which is entirely compatible with TSL RCM) and get the pieces from merchant.
Markus Ramikin 107 Posted September 17, 2010 Sounds lazy.
MrPhil 58 Posted September 18, 2010 Let's Quote Shem: "Let's face-it, if you want mods for your game, you are a cheater. If you weren't, you wouldn't get mods." And lemme remember that you are the one that is trying to avoid Kreia in order to adjust your crystal, which could be considered lazy as well... Markus Ramikin 107 Posted September 18, 2010 Nope, that doesn't make any sense. Using Kreia doesn't involve any extra legwork or difficult combats or anything, so how is avoiding her lazy? Shem's quote doesn't impress me either. There's a big difference between mods that add content or change things for reasons of balance or story, and on the other hand mods that simply "give you stuff" or make things much easier. It's not a big deal, live and let live. It's a single player game, so the concept of "cheating" is meaningless. I just don't want certain things to become -too- easy for me. What anyone else does I don't care.
