Disc image

Recommended Posts

So my play disc of TSL is gathering some dust and accumulating scratches. It is still playable for the moment, but I'd love to prevent its "downfall". So I hard of Deamon tools and creating images. I'd like to know if some of you have successfully made images (.mdx's or else) of their play disc and are you able to use-it? I tried to make the image and mount-it, but while the launcher works okay, I cannot launch the game... Any input?

Buy the real game.

Well, okay. I use MagicDisc/MagicIso, but I never got it to work correctly on my Desktop. You see, it has this very convenient firmware error that would not allow it to read certain mounted isos...

Have you considered one of those devices that smooths out the scratches on discs? If you have something like that, it'll be useful not only for that game disc but all your other game and music discs as well. It might be a good investment.

However, if you insist on a short term solution, do either Steam or scour eBay for a lucky deal.

By the way, doesn't DaemonTools have a problem with the Securom?

I have one of those device and I must say I am not convinced by their efficacity. Of course, I don't insist on a short term solution (in my opinion, that's using CD's that will get scratched with time): steam might be an option, but of course, it involve buying a game I already own. So if anybody else has a technique to make a disc image, I'd love to hear about 'em ;)
