HK Factory

Recommended Posts

Hope that helps!

On a related note, I was going to try to put together a full walk through but VP might be doing it instead since he might be doing some more work on the HK Factory.

Semi-Official TSLRCM Announcement. I have spoken with Stoney concerning HK Factory updates, and he said that he's satisfied with the current state of that section, which he has stated before. That said, he has said that he would not be opposed to changes, at least as long as they're not drastic changes, I assume.

The main thing I plan to change is the dreaded 'HK-51 locking out' sequence, and I'll perhaps have to do something important with the HK-50 behavior core (currently, it doesn't do anything). It may be awhile before I get to this though. As usual, Malachor VI gets first priority, and now I'm helping out some friends with the Sleheyron Restoration for K1 - add to that I've finally got a job and am starting school up again and you've got one fairly busy VarsityPuppet.

Don't forgot something with the HK-51's if they remain alive and hostile (but I guess that's for Stoney).

And maybe make the mind-sweep required before you can change your self-preservation protocols (since you don't remember that harms them, allowing you to harm them by disabling your own protocol, which shouldn't be possible if you know that by itself will harm HK units... still following me here?).

Wouldn't make both options do the same. Just my 2 cent...

Yeah, I originally had something else planned (like Goto would bring the HK-51's with him to Malachor and they WOULD actually attack you) but I guess Stoney didn't have that in mind. That's okay though, because I can include it in my own Malachor mod

I don't remember if it was your or Jediphile who originally suggested changing this area, but I can say I finally understand what exactly the issue was/is, so changing it is possible now!

Also, HH, I can take a look at that script to maybe figure out why the HK factory isn't triggering properly?

Yeah, it never made sense to me why you could still destroy your self-preservation without doing the memory wipe.

Just commenting on the apparent problems people are having with accessing the HK factory. If there is indeed a bug present (and not mod conflicts) I could take a look at that too.

I know USM users (with outdated comp-patch) have had some issues there. Not sure if other mods use 232_on_enter scripts.

But that's the culprit, and thus a modconflict, not an issue with TSLRCM itself.

I made it to the HK-Factory but my Exile spawned, not HK-47 and after talking to Stoney noticed my journal was hosed. We kinda sorta narrowed it down to maybe the KSE so I gotta go back 10 hours of gameplay to when I got to Iziz the first time, that's my last journal entry which isn't jacked up. Yesterday I started school myself but with the first week or two usually being pretty easy I'm hoping to finish the game by the end of the weekend and will definitely keep you in the loop

Where's your report damnit?

OT: Yeah, that happens when you put your stats really high. If you got it without that though, then that would be new...

Moved your post here since it seems you got the wrong thread.

How exactly was your journal hosed?

Also, you do not have a 232TEL_on_enter.ncs script in your override from another mod?

I'm having an issue where 47 tortured the hk-50, but after walking into the garage on the hawk or walking towards the bridge i get a black screen. any ideas? does it have anything to do with the 232_enter files?

When I got to Korriban the journal entries that were about the HK factory were now blank and again we're not sure how that happened. The KSE has been named as a possible culprit so for the remainder of this playthrough I won't again use it.

Also, you do not have a 232TEL_on_enter.ncs script in your override from another mod?

I will look later after I get home--I don't have TSL installed here at work...yet... :D

@ Valiant: So, it didn't happen afterwards? Well, no idea what would have caused it, but the on_enter script wouldn't be since you got the HK scene in the first place...

@ Static: With 1.6? I know re-getting the quest in 1.4/1.5 does that. Might also be an error in the Korriban script, seeing as how it's already been reported you don't get an update at all when HK tags along.

I've had stuff like that happen when for example cooking Bostuco while running away from Onderon.

KSE is probably excluded, since you cant really alter the quests in question yet without KSE crashing upon you. We fixed that for the next version, but that wont help much here ;).

Actually, do you still have that save? Since we fixed the KSE I could take a look what Queststate it's trying to be.

LS Points gained. For shame. What are you doing? WORK? :D

EDIT:

Well, you could mess up with KSE if you fiddled around with the "000_HK_50_Encounter" numeric I guess. You shouldn't do that you know...

Nope--the only thing I did was give myself items and powers I shouldn't have had. I've got 1.6a installed and on Korriban my party was Visas and Atton or Mical, can't recall which. I don't take HK to Korriban because of all the Sith Assassins-I guess he'd be ok to take through the shyrack cave but I would not take him into the Sith Academy.

I do indeed have all my saves--I didn't delete any of them

Nope--playin on the Internet ;)

Hi everyone.

I don't know if i've encountered a problem or if i'm just missunderstanding

I got the HK factory quest just fine, I killed my third group of HK47's on Dxun (didn't rebuild HK47 untill dantoinee was completed)

I did all the quests on Dxun, went to Iziz and got to the point when i'm forced to leave the planet, so I went back to Dxun and then to the Ebon Hawk.

As soon as I entered the torture scene started, I went to Telos but nothing had changed, so I looked in the quest log and the quest was gone.

Me being paranoid with saves always have multiple saves I went back one save at the time and it seems like the quest dissappeared when the torture scene started.

Should it be this way and the factory will be triggered by itself or is there something wrong?

It hasn't dissapeared, it's in the completed quest section :P.

But yeah, play along. It gets triggered along the endgame, you can't choose to go there on your own free accord.

Thank you for the answer, you were correct and it was triggered.

Just some general opinions/questions regarding the restored content now that i've finished it.

The factory itself was well made, the level design, the objectives were good and made sense, and the dialogue was great, but I don't know if I was unlucky and encountered a bug but the difficulty scaling didn't seem to be correct.

I had a horrible time trying to kill anything in that factory, I needed a good 2-3 minutes to kill 1 HK-50, and had to use shields in every battle.

I did very little damage compared to their overall HP, and they tore through my HP/Shields with ease, specially if there was 2 of them.

If I encountered 3 HK-50's at the time it was pretty much impossible to defeat them without setting mines everywhere and try to get them to follow you.

Quite simply I was forced to use cheats to level HK-47 up because there was no way I would've been able to win the battle with 7-8 HK-50 units at the same time

I know atleast all the original areas scale after your level, but for me it seemed like all the enemies were quite a bit higher than me

Are there any plans to add a explanation what happend to bao-dur in future updates? I know the original idea was for bao-dur to help HK-47 into the factory and dies doing so, but as it is now there's no explanation what happens to him, he just dissappears from the game (with the exception of the remote-recording)

Heh, sounds more like the TSLRP version than ours. But since you saw the torture scene...

A few well crafted ion weapons and a crit-resist item for HK make everything a lot easier though, as does the Droid Armor you can find in the factory.

As for Bao; nope, since what happened to him is still pure speculation, none of that is in the gamefiles.

I estimated one HK-50's HP to be in the 350 range.

A normal hit with the best rifle I had found did 15-20 dmg.

Add to that that they repair a good chunk of their health, twice

I had all damage+accuracy passive feats activated and I think HK-47 was around lvl 28-30.

Now the weapon didn't have ion damage, but even if it did the damage dealt wouldn't have been much higher considering the base damage would've been lower.

my Mark 3 shields could dissappear in about 10 seconds if I faced 3 HK-50's.

Even with a damage at 40 i'd have to waste a lot of shields and repair kits to get through the map.

As I said, I'm not sure if it was supposed to be like this, but I guess i'll find out when I re-do it as a LS char.

I don't know. I pretty much always dual-wield my HK-47 and use Master Rapid Shot. 80 damage per round takes them down rather fast...

Did the Droid Assassin Rifle not help? (found there)

Tried it out, was about equal to the rifle I was using

You need to upgrade weapons at a workbench. Mandalorian chamber III, Accuracy Scope III, Pure Rylith Power Cell - and suddenly even a basic blaster rifle becomes a serious killing machine.

2 Mandalorian Rippers upgraded that way, combined with Master Sniper Shot, and HK can bring things down satisfactorily fast.

The above is a universally useful setup, btw. If you wanted something specifically anti-droid, there are other upgrades. I just use this because it's good against anything.

Also Droid Agrinium Armor is extremely useful even before you find the Capacitance armor. It has a 50% energy absorption, this means you last twice as long. Capacitance armor has 75% which means it lets you last 4x as long. Which makes things really easy.

Oh and when you level HK-47 consider putting as many points as you can spare into into Repair. That makes your self-repairing with Construction Kits more effective.
