  1. Thank you, everyone who created TSLRCM, contributed and continue to contribute to its development, and, by extension, all the members of the KotOR/TSL community the products of whose efforts constitute a total of 73 mods that I'm using plus many more that remain available. With the completion of a dissertation, I can finally savor the hell out of this game. Before that, however, I wanted to share with you the meanings of some of the randomly selected default names in TSL, as well as invite you to translate homo- and heterophonic homographs used in the Star Wars universe, made-up proper nouns in particular, canonical or otherwise, into real-world languages. The following are actual word forms in Estonian, categorized here as female, male, and last names: Eelda 'presume', verb (imperative) Eeli 'before', postposition (genitive) Hala 'keening', noun, v. (imp.) Halla 'frost', n. (partitive) Kella 'clock', n. (part.) Kire 'passion', n. (gen.) Leia 'find', v. (imp.) Nime 'name', n. (gen.) Padi 'pillow', n. Pala 'piece', n. Palee 'palace', n. Reha 'rake', n. Taset 'level', n. (part.) Tina 'tin', n. Vala 'pour', v. (imp.) Valla 'loose; wide', adverb Kell 'clock', n. Sall 'scarf', n. Torm 'storm', n. Torus 'in(side) a pipe', adv. (inessive) Valin 'choose', v. (indicative) Vorm 'form', n. Enda 'one's own', pron. (reflexive) Kets 'athletic shoe' Konn 'frog' Kurn 'strainer' Laut 'barn', n. Morn 'gloomy', adjective Noor 'young', adj., n. Omas 'in(side) one's', adv. (ine.); 'owned', v. (3rd person singular imperfect) Panda* Panne '(frying) pans', n. plural (part.) Saal 'hall' Saar 'island', n. Saast 'scum', n. Salm 'stanza' Salu 'grove' Taban 'apprehend; hit', v. (ind.) Valm 'parable', n. Valu 'pain', n. * When was the first time you noticed that Captain Panaka's "we'll be sitting ducks" rendered ducks canonical?
  2. Thank you immensely -- you guys deliver!
  3. Won't the movie be unlocked and viewable from the main menu after the scripted sequence replacing it has been triggered? Come to think of it, that would be excruciating! I wish Achilles had opted for a rate that's only slightly below the threshold of looking cartoonish.
  4. It's terrific to see visible progress again. I was sorting through a collection of splendid mods in anticipation and preparation, and remembered that I should remove the ones that will be made redundant in accordance with the changelog on page 28. In addition to these two, have there been any other cosmetic improvements added since then, such as Sammi_DC's Dialogue Tile Fix, for example? Are Improveed Visis Marr's Introduction (1.0), Space/Environmental Suit Speed Fix, TSL Ambience Improvement Mod, TSL Music Improvement, and Xi's Cyan & Silver Lightsaber Fix still separate?
  5. It's good that the prevention of a dangerous situation is more rewarding. The PC was a general, after all. What happens to the loot that I don't pick up or that the last enemy alive may or may not have dropped – is it still there during the next battle in that module?
  6. I think this is an excellent idea, and I selected the last option in your other poll as well. The thought-provoking thing is that – given that, in this particular universe, all planets within habitable zones have apparent solar days of more or less equal duration, which is 24 hours – there are areas that would have to be traversed prior to the lapse of such a length of time, one of them being the unknown world. Otherwise, the tension would dissolve. In Mass Effect, imagine being in the process of disarming a bomb in the middle of a firefight, with a sudden nightfall. On Taris, there's an explicit jump forward to the next day when the PC rests before the swoop race, and maybe an implicit jump to the start of yet another day when proceeding to Davik's estate (and mucking about in the slave quarters, etc.). Then again, Malak's search for Bastila shouldn't take forever, either. Now, the Monkey Island series has islands instead of planets, and whether it's day or night also depends on where you are. Anyone who's familiar with the 16-color version of the first game, though, would remember a sunset that disappeared soon thereafter, while you were off paying attention to something else. If the swoop race takes place at midday, and the subsequent conversation in the hideout shows that it's already evening, then the only actual night should start when you leave the apartment building then.
  7. I suppose the line has to be drawn somewhere, then, if the aim is to preserve the idiosyncrasies of the source material. Still, one can say that the designers should have had more time to reflect on their work, and that there's a possibility that the more subtle nuances of the game were intended to be added eventually.
  8. It would drastically alter the look of a strong supporting character whose inventory of armor has no effect in this regard, yes. Well, since the author seems to permit it, could you expand that particular mod; for instance, to automatically rename the official files while installing the modified ones, with the deactivated HK aboard the Hawk becoming the former? In addition, would it be possible to include either cjt0202's Carth's Eye-Searing Armor Fix and Admiral's Uniform or jinger's Admiralty Mod? I understand that the second one is incompatible, which is unfortunate, as his in-game uniform always looked like a temporary placeholder.
  9. Hi! It's so exciting to read up on all the progress you have been making! Speaking of which, could you incorporate Ecce's HK-47 Chassis, but so that he retains the original appearance until the PC repairs him? Although I just discovered the latter mod, I love how such visual enhancements contribute to the gritty realism of this series with a sense of continuity.
