  1. Thank you, Sith Holocron and Xuul, for your efforts. It is so much fun and so strange coming back to this. The Firaxan archons are so silly ... But - them were the days. There literally wasn't anything else and nothing was coming up on the horizon. A note on the mentioned bugs that are so weird. I think they result from incomplete animations for these doors to open. But, hey, I just replayed "Burial at Sea Part 1" (Bioshock Infinite DLC), and guess what? If you backtrack through the first big level, there is a door animation looping infinitely (it ended in the first instance because of a script in a dialogue with Elizabeth, but the dialogue, of course, is not repeated later), and you are stuck forever. It has never been fixed to this day. So, please take this as a pre-emptive tribute to Irrational Games Studio, RIP. Thx again, this is a great dedicated community, and I am glad to be a part of it.
  2. Sry, for posting soooo late. If you have already talked and kissed Bastila, there is no way of fixing the romance except for using the Savegame editor, but then, you have to know the proper intergers (i.e. numbers that tell the game at which stage you are with Basty). There is also a script fix (which is better because it doesn't alter the dialogue file, but I did not test it) which will also not fix the issue post factum. Look at the documentation in the mod files.
  3. You don't need the dialog.tlk file. (Actually it was originally needed for non-English versions of the game to make this mod work.) TSLRCM was an ever-evolving project, so there was no testing at that time. If you are not asked to overwrite something, this will still work with any other mod.
  4. If anyone ever comes across this now or in the future: This mod is from 2006/07, it was a very humble effort to put M4-78 into the game as a fun mod (see more info in the mod thread). Use TSLRCM + M4-78EP for a proper experience of what was lost during the final days of developing Kotor: TSL. The mod posted here serves puposes of modding history only. Thx.
  5. Hi, fellow Kotor-fans. This is Darth Shan, creator of the original Droid Planet mod. The posts here are six years old, and I am only writing this, in case anyone still stumbles on this. Thank you for your posts and your interest in my humble efforts. I really appreciate your comments, the reviews and I am very flattered that there was even a live-stream and a Youtube-excerpt of that stream. I also enjoyed the criticisms and jibes - I totally agree with them, hey, at least we had some good laughs from the bizarre moments in my mod. In the following I will state some facts for your amusement and some clarification. Thx. Some addenda: - M4-78 was cut from the game, and by 2006 there was a professional modding team (led by Aurora) working on a restoration. That project fizzled out and was abandoned. - All we had at that time were 7 level files (single .mod modules) which were actually ripped from the XBox version of the game. Players used the warp commands to get there and look what was to be found in these levels which were - as stated above - the bare backbones of the droid planet. - When the restoration project fell apart, I put these levels together, late in 2006. I created waypoints and a rudimentary plot-line, so that we could get there in-game (i.e. without cheat commands). The lore in the mod I made up on the basis of what was to be found in the modules, placeholders or proper content - I did not care. I threw in some ester eggs like the Alien eggs, the G0t0 droids, a star-map as well as Revan's original xerox machine. It was intended as a plain fun journey into an abandoned part of the game, nothing more, nothing less. - This mod was a single person's effort, made by someone who had virtually no modding experience whatsoever, rudimentary scripting abilities and no skills in creating or modifying graphics or textures. Yet I think this was the biggest effort by one single modder for TSL back in the days. The mod was even running for mod of the year on the Lucasfiles website. - Shortly after my v.1.3 (from 2007) I was recruited for a proper restoration effort - which came down because one of our leads took files from other mods without permission. I abandoned modding thereafter, because of family reasons (I am now a father of five). - When Darth Stoney's version came along I officially abondoned my original mod. In 2016, I was explicitely asked to (re-)upload it to Deadly Stream, although I was sceptical, precisely because of its lacklustre quality. So it ended up here solely for purposes of modding history. - So, if you are interested in M4-78, please, use the restoration project (TSLRCM + M4-78EP). That is the way to do it properly. - Let me finish by saying that I am very touched coming back to this seemingly long lost world. Thx again.

Now go to the Tatooine Cantina and talk to the barkeeper. He'll tell you, Helena was a regular customer - and spawn her for you to talk to. Now you are able to talk to Junix, the barkeeper, to have Helena Shan meet you ASAP. 3) The Resources. This contains resources for modders as well as files to ensure compatibility with other mods. a) Master Kavar's "Female Revan Untold Love Story". If you have this mod, use the file for your own Override folder. If you use it you will encounter some issues. There are omissions from the original dialogue with Bastila, and all animations and camera angles have been completely deleted. This is due to a bug with an earlier version of the dialogue editor. "The Brotherhood of Shadow" and "Quest for TK102's Birthday". If you have both mods, use the files from this folder. If you've got only the Brotherhood, use none. If you've got only TK102's Birthday party, then - I think - you may still use these files (the "contact" from the Brotherhood mod just won't appear, and that's it). But the latter has not been tested. c) Unaltered files from the game to investigate how the romance has been made up by Bioware. d) Documentation of the glitch fix serving as a small introduction to scripting as well. Enjoy. BUGS: None encountered, yet. The common strategy for players to avoid the glitch has been not to talk to Bastila again after kissing her. This has, of course, the same effect as removing the script attached to the dialogue - i.e. it does not change anything compared to the strategy of not talking to Basty. May 2016 DESCRIPTION: If you try to rebalance your modded Kotor games, this really comes in handy. Boss too strong? Crazy rebalance? Change your options in game, even while fighting! Tired of messing with your config.ini? Some think, correctly, that both KotORs are fairly easy games. Especially when it comes to replaying them, this may become annoying. But you are ill advised to reset difficulty setting manually in your configuration files. Why? Because 3 (highest in K1) and 4 (highest in TSL) set difficulty to default, i.e. more easy than in ingame difficulty. This mini-mod brings a solution: Set your difficulty level in-game! All you need is a simple 2da.file. INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS: Drop the corresponding files manually in the folders where they belong. Recommended: "Normal". If you are an elite gamer OR like to use heavily modded Override folders for your Kotor games, then you have the option to use the "hardcore" settings which tweak all levels one step, i.e. easy becomes normal, normal difficult and so on, see below for details. Regarding compatibility: the files employ a simple trick, they use dialogue.tlk-lines from the standard tlk.file, to be precise: "Choke" and "Horror" from the Force Powers entries. So compatibility is universal. Malpense and Archer for encouraging feedback. DESCRIPTION: This mod, the third and final version of my first mod whatsoever, comprises the following features: 1) Nihilus is the Exile - FINAL. You get some additional dialogue options, if you installed USM you will still be able to get the lightsaber - and the mask as well. It revolves about a problem of the PC's identity. New dialogue lines are voiced. 2) Sacrifice Visas in (nearly) all situations: If you equip Visas with modified lightsabers and custom robes, you will still be able to sacrifice her. (Beware: You won't get the additional options from the Nihilus Mod above, in this case.) 3) Shoot-out between Remote, Goto and HK-47 on Malachor V (final). 4) Vision in the council chamber on Coruscant (final). This is a small modulet with dialogue options for three Sith lords, completely overhauled. 5) Small dialogue tweaks for the Handmaiden Sisters Cutscenes. Compatibility script for Stoffe's Handmaiden Fix and deathdisco's New Planet Coruscant (one script file to be found in the Backup folder, use it only if you use BOTH mentioned mods). 6) Option for never ever having to Recruit the Disciple if you do not have the Handmaiden. USM compatible. 7) Second Sith vision on Malachor, (final). Dialogues cleaned. Rebalanced. INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS: Extract archive to a test folder on your harddrive. Drop every file manually in the archive folder "SWKotor2" where it belongs in the respective game directory folders: modules lips Override streammusic. All these correspond to LucasArts>SWKotor2>modules - lips - override - streammusic. THIS WILL OVERWRITE lips>904MAL_loc.mod If you use an English or German version of the game it's alright. There are original file backups in the archive. If you have any other TSL version, drag and drop this file from "lips" to a separate backup folder. Alternatively, you may drag and drop the whole "SWKotOR2"-folder onto your LucasArts folder (NOT the game directoy itself!), if you have a standard TSL installation. COMPATIBILITIES USM (Ultimate Lightsaber mod) Coruscant Jedi Temple (my mod overwrites loadscreens.2da, perfectly alright) Tomb of Azgath on Korriban The Dark Apprentice (MacLeod Corporation) Droid Factory Reconstructed Droid Planet Mod This mod won't be compatible with TSLRP, because they are going to implement several ways to sacrifice Visas. Install this mod prior to my Droid Planet mod. HOW TO PLAY The modifications begin very late in the game. - Defeat Darth Nihilus to get the additional dialogue options. Shortly afterwards you will be transferred to the new module. IMPORTANT: The first dialogue has been purposefully flagged as unskippable to avoid skipping the deletion script (i.e. this caused a nasty looping bug in an early version, scusa). Still, I implemented the line "I won't have this vision" to let the vision disappear. This is intended for the case anything still goes wrong. If you use this option rightout you won't ever be transferred to the council vision area. - The confrontation between the droids automatically takes place when Remote has activated the Mass Shadow Generator. - You will automatically enter a new level before moving onwards to the Trayus Core. If you do not like this: open the console and type "warp 908MAL", this is the Trayus Core. Don't use the party selection menu (the game could crash). BUGS and ISSUES: 1) When you select the party menu while staying in the new Malachor level, your game could crash to desktop. This has turned out as being a driver issue (I ran into no problems on newer computers). Note: There are no problems with the council chamber level. Malpense and Archer for encouraging feedback. DESCRIPTION: This mod, the third and final version of my first mod whatsoever, comprises the following features: 1) Nihilus is the Exile - FINAL. You get some additional dialogue options, if you installed USM you will still be able to get the lightsaber - and the mask as well. It revolves about a problem of the PC's identity. New dialogue lines are voiced. 2) Sacrifice Visas in (nearly) all situations: If you equip Visas with modified lightsabers and custom robes, you will still be able to sacrifice her. (Beware: You won't get the additional options from the Nihilus Mod above, in this case.) 3) Shoot-out between Remote, Goto and HK-47 on Malachor V (final). 4) Vision in the council chamber on Coruscant (final). Compatibility script for Stoffe's Handmaiden Fix and deathdisco's New Planet Coruscant (one script file to be found in the Backup folder, use it only if you use BOTH mentioned mods). 6) Option for never ever having to Recruit the Disciple if you do not have the Handmaiden. USM compatible. 7) Second Sith vision on Malachor, (final). Dialogues cleaned. Rebalanced. INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS: Extract archive to a test folder on your harddrive. Drop every file manually in the archive folder "SWKotor2" where it belongs in the respective game directory folders: modules lips Override streammusic. All these correspond to LucasArts>SWKotor2>modules - lips - override - streammusic. THIS WILL OVERWRITE lips>904MAL_loc.mod If you use an English or German version of the game it's alright. There are original file backups in the archive. If you have any other TSL version, drag and drop this file from "lips" to a separate backup folder. Alternatively, you may drag and drop the whole "SWKotOR2"-folder onto your LucasArts folder (NOT the game directoy itself!), if you have a standard TSL installation. Install this mod prior to my Droid Planet mod. HOW TO PLAY The modifications begin very late in the game. - Defeat Darth Nihilus to get the additional dialogue options. Shortly afterwards you will be transferred to the new module. IMPORTANT: The first dialogue has been purposefully flagged as unskippable to avoid skipping the deletion script (i.e. this caused a nasty looping bug in an early version, scusa). Still, I implemented the line "I won't have this vision" to let the vision disappear. This is intended for the case anything still goes wrong. If you use this option rightout you won't ever be transferred to the council vision area. - The confrontation between the droids automatically takes place when Remote has activated the Mass Shadow Generator. - You will automatically enter a new level before moving onwards to the Trayus Core. If you do not like this: open the console and type "warp 908MAL", this is the Trayus Core. Don't use the party selection menu (the game could crash). BUGS and ISSUES: 1) When you select the party menu while staying in the new Malachor level, your game could crash to desktop. This has turned out as being a driver issue (I ran into no problems on newer computers). Note: There are no problems with the council chamber level.     From the FileFront Review "M4-78 was a droid planet that at one point was going to make an appearance in the sequel to 2003's game of the year, Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords. Due to time constraints, Obsidian cut the planet from the game; however the modules were left over and a lot of original work with it which means talented modders can add the planet back into the game again, which means new areas to explore. smile After a long layoff from modding, Darth Shan has returned with an update to his M4-78 mod for all of us to enjoy. The update includes some bug fixes from his original release along with a fix to the Mandalorian Cache module; that area is where you find a bunch of droids and containers once you blow the charges and go inside. The author does not use the TSL Patcher and there are some .2da files. Darth Shan does plan to use the TSL Patcher in a future release. The good news about that is the author makes a list of mods this mod is compatible in his readme file. Please make sure you read the lengthy readme file so you don't screw up your game. Enjoy the updated version of M4-78! Note: Please leave the author feedback, especially if you download this mod and use it.
