  1. How did I not know this was a thing?

     

    I'm always on a huge Twenty One Pilots kick. They are from my state, so I've been following them for almost their whole exsistence. Their second studio album came out in the spring and I like it a ton. Here is one of my favorite songs off of their album Blurryface

     

    Formerly known as Dale Earnhardt Jr. Jr. - JR JR released a self-titled album in September. This song is pretty good, and the music video is pretty funky.

     

    Finally, I just discovered the Austrailian radio station, Triple J. They do this thing called "Like a Version," where they bring in groups every friday and have them preform 2 songs. One of their own, and one cover. The covers are pretty legit, best part is the radio station packages all of these covers into an album. Here is Childish Gambino's cover from October, which was killer.

  2. I think my story has all of yours topped:

     

    When I first played Kotor I got to the outside of the cantina on Taris.

     

    This particular Cantina has a door that needs to be opened; it also has the typical lock picking interface. I attempted to unlock the cantina and got the *impossible* message. I then spent an hour attempting to find how to unlock the cantina. 

     

    So yeah. I spent hours on Taris trying to unlock a door that wasn't locked.

    I did the same thing and then quit playing Kotor for about a week because I didn't understand what was going on (granted, I was 10 years old) haha

     

    Later in that same playthrough I refused to duel because I couldn't persuade him to give me a higher pay. So I went through Taris and came back toward the end and it still didn't work, thus I left Taris without dueling on my first run of the game xD


  3. Luke Skywalker is not Kylo Ren, I don't think.

    Probably should've clarified, I don't think he is Kylo Ren (mainly because the pics of Kylo Ren without a mask look like Adam Driver). I was thinking more he went darkside without realizing it, so now we'd be dealing with a much more grey definition of what Jedi and Sith are for the universe.

So there have recently been some pretty good (imo) articles/posts predicting what the plot is going to be about....I wanted to share these articles with you guys, in case you haven't seen them.  Also, I want to say that I intentially put the links in the order below...because I think they provide explanations that build off one another and make what would be a really interesting plot.

  5. I like the 3rd Taris and the 1st Manaan. But maybe when you do it for the actual mod use the first person mode? I'm sure you're already planning on doing that....just wanted to be safe and make sure it was said. EDIT: Just looked again and noticed it was only Taris in 3rd person.

     

    Also, if you aren't 100% satisfied with the "concept art" filter you could try experimenting with scanlines to make the art have a hologram feel.

     

    I agree with @Kexikus about the logo.


  6. A good place to start:

     

    1. Open the item's .uti file and note the baseitem type (if KT) or row number (if any other tool, like K-GFF) as well as the model variation.

    2. Open baseitems.2da and find your row.

    3. Note the defaultmodel value.

    4. In your head, change the number at the end (just the last digit if the model variation is below 10, or just the last two if it's over 10) with the model variation from your item.

    5. Try to find the model in KT (in K1, try the items.bif->Models section first; K2, the models.bif) and double-click it to decompile it.

    6. Navigate to where you extracted and decompiled it and you will see the textures that model uses. :D

    Thanks, unfortunately the texture only provides what I'd call the "ear section" of the Interface Band. So I'm still at a loss as to how to change the color :/

     

    Also, I'm at a loss as to why the Verpine Ocular Enhancer texture isn't being replaced by the file in my override whereas the Interface Band's texture is.

    So I've been trying to figure out how to change the "visor" color/transparancy on the Veripine Ocular Enchancer and the Interface Band, but I have no idea where these textures would be. Does anyone know? Also, how would I change the transparency of the visor? I assume it has to do with using the Alpha layer, but I'm not sure and I'm just spinning my wheels at this point.

    Remember they are not real windows, so there should be more holographic elements than realistic ones...

     

     

    I totally misunderstood xD Hmmmm maybe then you should alternate some human world pics. I'd imagine the Selkath would want to try having a "calming" atmosphere for the off-worlders to try to reduce the hassle of dealing with everyone.


  9. It's looking good but you are going to need some modeling for this.

     

    I wonder - what is the helmet that Sithspecter is talking about?

     The helmet is SS's republic helmet mod, which made the stock republic helmet available in-game.  EDIT: I had begun to type this response a while ago, so I didn't see that Sith Holocron had responded. He is correct ;)

     

    I'm actually thinking of including a few different pieces of headgear/weapons for this mod.

     

    Brainstorming for headgear:

     

    Republic Helmet (SS's Republic Helmet)

     

    Ranger's Visor (using Verpine Ocular Enchancer model)

     

    Trooper Tactical Comm (using circlet of Teta's Royal Band model)

    If you're wondering where I got the inspiration...I was searching up Republic soldiers so that I could, in a sense, have a style guide to look at while in photoshop. That's when I came across this image:

    I thought it looked very cool, and would open up the possibility for some future modeling work. So I tried to keep with a similar design throughout the skins.

    After doing some thinking (while traversing around Shanghai) the new ordering of the armors will most likely be:

     

    Republic Cadet Uniform (light) = Vanilla Republic Armor

    -given at start

     

    Republic Armor (medium-light) [upgradable]  - This will be the default armor all soldiers will now have

     Are you just modding for KotOR at the moment or are you planning to make these available for TSL too?

    Right now it's just for Kotor, but I'd definitely like to make these for TSL in the future.

     

    Are you planning to do modeling as well?

     Maybe, don't have any modeling software at the moment, but it'd definitely be a nice skill to pick up.

     

    No update at the moment. I'm working on designing a better medium/heavy armor - while searching up reference images of the soldier clothing & republic soldier armor....I rediscovered that Silveredge made the republic shock trooper in BOS:SR   :crybaby:  So I might not proceed with converting the soldier clothing to a heavy armor for the republic (would just use the traditional heavy armor model). Thoughts?

    A little introduction: A long time ago, I was a decently active member of LF. Then I dropped off the face of the internet.  Fast-forward to my last semester of undergrad, I had more free time..so I played Kotor 2, with TSLRCM, and got my girlfriend to start playing Kotor (for the first time).  All this reignited my love for staying up-to-date with the mod scene.  To help me further appreciate all the work everyone has done, I've decided to attempt modding. This thread will be the record of my journey exploring modding!

    I have always wondered why the Republic never provided light/medium/heavy armor varients for their soldiers. Also, the Republic armor seems pretty skimpy compared to others. I'm aiming to correct this by creating 3 new republic armors (light/medium/heavy) that will be available in-game. In the future I'd love to pair this with a new helmet for the Republic (or even with SS's Republic helmet mod).

    I am not 100% sold on the medium and heavy designs...debating on using the soldier class clothing model for the heavy armor and taking another attempt at the medium design.

     

    Additionally, I am considering the possibility of making the "traditional" Republic armor the soldier class clothing. As it appears to be more like clothing. I know this is already a mod, I would just like to include something like that with this mod (will get in contact with the mod author at a later time). Criticism/thoughts/suggestions highly appreciated.

     

     

    Sith

     

    I've never been the biggest fan of the Sith trooper armor. I am still thinking about how I'd like to design this/if it is even possible with my current skill set. I'd probably like to use the medium armor model, and give it a scout trooper-ish helmet. I'd only provide medium/heavy armor where:

    medium = "traditional" sith trooper

    heavy =  "red" sith trooper 

     

    PLC

     

    I noticed that a lot of the mods I have will replace certain PLC, but leave others. This sometimes leaves an oddly low res item in the middle of a beautiful planet. While these wont be "super HD" (max 512x512), I'm attempting to upgrade the PLC that I've noticed is left alone in some reskins. I have about 32 skins done, but I'm trying to figure out a way to easily view all of them in-game (and thus provide pics).
