My skill with normal mapping (environment mapping) is considerable and I became semi-famous in TF2 (remember, in 2009_) In the present day, I have begun the process of making unique weapons/armor. It is completely experimental and utilized the more out-there sci fi, like the Spider-Man Venom/Carnage symbiote, or Nano Particle Technology. The textures are illustrations I made myself. With proper environment mapping, these 2D textures bear an innate 3D quality when in-game. As a 2D abstract artist with 16 years of experience and self-teaching through trial and error, my theory here was to make kaleidoscopic textures . They weren't adherent to the model''s UVMAP. Turns out Fallout 4 modding is the frontier of armor/weapon/character new texture art. Example Texture: Spoiler Spoiler All of these power armors started as sharpie ink on watercolor paper that I scanned. I did over 200 of those to the point where3 generating a new metal texure like in these armors was quite good.
