kotor 2 glich so trying to update plus content

maybe im just not smart here. so got kotor 2 on origin and started to play though made it to about the ship got shot down you find you way to an underground base. there no way to go forward. my friend are supoost to be in the cells and there not. so i tried to update and it says the files is different its there just not right.. what so i do

You may have been bitten by the polar academy bug. Install TSLRCM if you haven't already; it fixes that bug. Unfortunately, I think you'll have to start a new game.
