Xr900 3 Posted June 14, 2017 Hello, I don't see any other appropriate place to post this, so I'm posting it here. So, I have recently started replaying TSL with some mods, and when I entered Ithorian compound on Telos, I witnessed that textures of basically all regular Ithorians there are completely messed up. Reloading the save even with override folder removed have left me with the same effect and I am unable to locate the file that caused this. I have attached screenshots to show what happened, so maybe someone can help me pinpoint the cause of this texture bug. I have numerous popular mods installed, mostly textures, other than that - restored content, jedi temple, M4-78. But I don't think there was anything that was supposed to affect Ithorians. Sure, I had one pink-glitched floor texture on Telos, but removing just one file from override folder was enough to fix it. This issue with Ithorians I have no idea how to fix because I have no idea what should I search for - or where for that matter. I hope someone will be able to help me because I have no way of identifying the source of the problem on my own. At this point only Moza and Chozo Habat are looking normally for me. I have even installed 'Ithorians Improved' mod hoping it would resolve the issue, but it changed nothing. Additionally, it seems that something broke the transition on the way from Ithorian Compound to Residential Module East. I can't move from there unless I use the Information Terminal because the 'gateway' on that side of the map doesn't work at all. Best regards.
Xr900 3 Posted June 14, 2017 Well, it seems that that's really a minor issue now - I have just encountered a bug where I cannot progress in Replacement Restoration Droid quest, so I'm completely stuck and can't do anything. I guess I will have to delete all mods and start replaying clean TSL. If anyone could at least tell me what could cause that, i would appreciate the info so I can avoid making the same mistake in the future.
Sith Holocron 2,480 Posted June 15, 2017 Read this post. Follow the instructions. Bug reports for TSLRCM require the format in the linked thread. All questions and answers are important but listing the mods (and providing the links to them) are incredibly so. (Moving this to the TSLRCM thread as well)
Xr900 3 Posted June 15, 2017 Thank you. At least I know it's a compatibility issue. I'll send a proper report if that thing happens again, as I reinstalled the mods immediately after, trying to avoid those that aren't on the TSLRCM compatibility list. One question though, will mods work if I install them in the subfolders so I can easily remove them? Thanks.
Kexikus 995 Posted June 15, 2017 That really depends on the mods in question. Retextures are fine but you won't notice any conflicts when installing a second mod that modifies the same files in a different subfolder. Just keep that in mind. Pretty much anything else, especially mods editing 2da files can be screwed up big time by doing this. That's simply due to the fact that with two mods editing the same 2da file in different subfolders, only one of these edits will be recognised by the game. So you'll loose one mod's edits which would most likely break it. As a rule of thumb: Keep everything that comes with TSLPatcher for the installation in the main Override folder (not that you can direct TSLPatcher to a subfolder anyway). Mods that don't use TSLPatcher are usually fine when placed in subfolders as those are mostly retextures and maybe other files that are rarely edited by other mods. But don't put them blindly into subfolders! They may just be too old to have TSLPatcher or maybe the author didn't set it up for some reason. Check if any of the new mod's files are already present in your Override and if they aren't you're most likely good to go. If they are and there's no TSLPatcher then you'll run into compability issues anyway and unless you know what you're doing it'd probably be better to skip the mod.
Xr900 3 Posted June 15, 2017 Thanks Kexikus. As for my bug, I found out that addon Creature Textures Enhancement was responsible for messing up the Ithorians so I removed the files that altered their looks and it's fine now. I'm also not sure what caused this serious bug with Telos functionality being completely screwed up, though, but it works fine after reinstalling some of the addons and forfeiting installing addons that are not on the compatibility list. I hope I will not encounter any more issues. Thanks.
