corpsecotillion 27 Posted April 13, 2017 So I've been making textures for some time now but decided to try my hand at editing models. Keep in mind that it's been about a decade since I've touched any 3D modeling program, and as much as I'd rather be using 3ds Max, I'm no longer a student and can't get the free license.I have NWMax installed, I edited Carth's head, and I went to export and... it did nothing. Literally, nothing. Sanity Checks are turned off and neither the Export Geom Only or the Export Model+Animations buttons do ANYTHING AT ALL. I tried reinstalling NWMax, thinking that maybe I was missing a script, and that still hasn't fixed the issue, What am I missing?Any help at all would be greatly appreciated /sigh
DarthTyren 103 Posted April 14, 2017 Well, in the time that I chose to use GMax, I've never tried to actually export anything, I just wanted to find my way around 3D enough to upgrade to 3DS. That said, I know for 3DS, for whatever reason, I have to launch in Admin mode in order to export (I constantly forget that I have this disabled by default), so you might try that? Also, where are you extracting to, because you may not have permissions for that folder, or it may be a 'hidden' or 'compatibility' file.
corpsecotillion 27 Posted April 14, 2017 For whatever reason, if I launch GMax from the actual GMax executable, NWMax doesn't like to export. I can import and edit models that way, but if I want to export I have to open GMax by using nwmax.exe to start the program instead. Weird, but at least I got it working
