Diffiiculties with UTI files

I took all the non-lightsaber sword utis (long, short, vibro...) out of the game and replaced them with blaster utis... yet still there are a few Stormtroopers (I use the Sith trooper to Stormtrooper mod) that pull out long swords when I get close! How is this possible?

Okay... this is new to me. Where can i find these non-player weapon templates?

EDIT: I can't find any other references to swords with the SEARCH TOOL and the KOTOR TOOL...

If KotOR 2, check out the various prop .uti files. The last two or three letters before the numbers in the filename hint at the weapon type (like "qs" in "propqs01.uti" is a quarterstaff).

I'm working on a mod for KOTOR 1. The only prop uti I can find is the "dan_mine_prop.uti".

Could there be another file in KOTOR 1 where the npc weapon templates are stored?

(I haven't been able to locate it, using the search refs tool, or manually searching with the kotor tool...)

EDIT: Or is there maybe another way to tell the game not to use swords (with certain characters)?

EDIT 2: In the n_sithsoldier mdl file there is a "node dummy LightsaberHook" reference. Could this be the model's ability to handle melee weapons like swords or lightsabers? If so, could I just remove the two lightsaberhook nodes so that the model no longer can equip melee weapons?

EDIT 3: I DID IT!!! I replaced the sword entries in the baseitems.2da for blaster entries... and now: no more stormtroopers pulling out King Arthur and his Knights of the Round Table swords!!! Yipppeee! :P
