Cheats not working on KOTOR1

As this is now happening on two different copies of the game on two different computers, I think it's time to ask about it.

 

I've edited the swkotor.ini files for both copies and inserted the line "EnableCheats=1", yet I am unable to access the cheat console on either copy. This especially doesn't make sense because I had previously enabled cheats successfully.

 

One version is the 4CD version, the other KOTOR Collection.

 

Anybody have any ideas?

2. What language of OS/Keyboard language?

3. Have you double-checked that the EnableCheats=1 is under the GameOptions?

1. Windows Vista on one, Windows 8 on the other
