high5 18 Posted August 5, 2015 Just name the lightsaber model to 'w_lghtsbr_001' and throw it into your override, numbers '001' to '010' at the end for different colours. leave the texure names as they are.

Kaidon Jorn 195 Posted August 6, 2015 Ill do it in 3d max Ah ok, shouldnt be too different I guess. Do you have MDLops and NWMax? MDLops 0.5 is best for sabers. I'm using NWMax 0.7 I think

Kaidon Jorn 195 Posted August 6, 2015 (edited) Which MDLops? You need 0.5. Not sure if nwmax 8 is an issue, but I guess we'll see. Uploading vidya to Youtube with an explanation. it'll be an hour and a half. Also, MDLops came with a written saber tutorial..were you aware of it? Kaidon Jorn 195 Posted August 6, 2015 Alright, here you go. It's definately not great - there's no sound since i dont have a mic or a headset or anything like that, but hopefully you'll get the jist. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CENPQCK099Q If you have any questions, I'll answer as best I can. Expand the "show more" drop down to read whats actually happening. And my Gmax went wonky way back when I reinstalled it on Windows 7. There are settings I had I don't remember, so when i select one viewport, the others go white. Don't know how to fix it...maybe someone here does, LOL. itachisen 0 Posted August 7, 2015 the tutorial is very simple and well explained!! ill try all the steps but at the last moment it gives me this error. I think is because windows 10 but I don't know for sure... any ideas?? https://www.dropbox.com/s/4sqwpbvvzowy1dp/Screenshot%202015-08-06%2020.13.10.png?dl=
DarthParametric 3,777 Posted August 7, 2015 Presumably the usual case of Windows freaking out over the Program Files folder permissions. Don't install anything there. You could try starting Max with Admin permissions and try again. The stupid thing is that's an empty/0 byte file. Even with sanity check disabled, it still wants to create the report file. itachisen 0 Posted August 7, 2015 it work! but the texture is not showing i dont know why??? https://www.dropbox.com/s/v0snp8s7n8n3lm2/Screenshot%202015-08-06%2022.18.03.png?dl=
DarthParametric 3,777 Posted August 7, 2015 You presumably didn't apply a material to it. Google tutorials on the Max material editor.
Kaidon Jorn 195 Posted August 7, 2015 Uh, yeah. I assumed you had already mapped and skinned it. That's a whole 'nother tutorial, and I hardly remember how to do it myself.. but hitting 'm' should bring up the material editor..if that helps.
itachisen 0 Posted August 16, 2015 sorry for the late reply, i had a problem with mi pc I do it right this time: https://www.dropbox.com/s/5w88wcu0nu0kcqg/Screenshot%202015-08-15%2019.04.52.png?dl=0 the texture problem remains, but in 3d max the model has its textures: https://www.dropbox.com/s/lv10h9jyd5titxt/Screenshot%202015-08-15%2019.17.00.png?dl=0 and when I read and write the new model it shows this texture for the hilt but is I put in the override the model doesn't apply it https://www.dropbox.com/s/36ysw2x10e1ab66/Screenshot%202015-08-15%2019.28.44.png?dl=0 I don't understand. DarthParametric 3,777 Posted August 16, 2015 Assuming what is shown in the textures list text file is your hilt diffuse, probably excessive character length in the filename. Chop it down to something more reasonable, under 10 characters.
itachisen 0 Posted August 16, 2015 THANKS ALOT MAN!! IT WORK https://www.dropbox.com/s/jwts1inxfns0bin/Screenshot%202015-08-15%2020.36.52.png?dl=0 I assume that this is the same process to put any model in game, like the tunics???
DarthParametric 3,777 Posted August 16, 2015 Not exactly. Character/animated models are a bit more complex. I'd advise not getting ahead of yourself. Get some experience under your belt with simple saber and blaster mods first.
itachisen 0 Posted August 16, 2015 yes I know, I saw a model right know and it is more complex for the moment the saber modifications and the animation changes I did are good to add some personalization to the game. but I truly want add this tunics and the head if it is possible to the game. https://www.dropbox.com/s/g0z0s48enp4xt6i/foto%2026-05-15%207%2058%2034.png?dl=
