Black_Rogue 1 Posted June 17, 2015 Hello again, these are some question concerning Kotor 2, the possibility of Kotor 3, and restored content. Just as some background I've been playing Kotor 2 for about 7 years and in that time and along with readings of the game I've gathered up some questions about the game. Also I'm not a huge fan of star wars so I don't know to much outside of the Kotor series. KOTOR 3? 1. Is it plausible that Kotor 3 may still come out, and If so would it be remotely similar to the other Kotor series? 2. Is there some sort of "historical" preset they would have to follow, either from SWTOR or some other sort of media? in other words, can they just make up stuff about Revan or the Exile in the future? 3. Is Kotor 3 worth making? I believe so, but there is the question of an outdated market, along with would It need a "reboot" of the story, making it too different to almost not even be considered a sequel. KOTOR 2 "spoilers" 1. The term "canon" is used a lot to describe the male exile/Brianna male Disciple female plots, what does that mean? Is there some sort of story Outside of Kotor 2 that describes the events of it? 2. Is Kreia Brianna's Mom? They indirectly hint at this if you put 2 and 2 together but I just need some clarification. 3. What happens to Bao Dur? I've heard he dies helping HK reach the Factory, but nothing in game suggests his death, but Atton does mention there both gone during the Telos battle. Was this originally supposed to be cut content? 4. What are the HK's under HK-47's rule new targets supposed to be, and did HK-47 go "rogue" in a sense? 5. Did Kreia kill the Jedi masters if you go LS, or did she just put them into a unconscious state by draining their force? 6. Did Kreia want the Exile to die? or did she want the exile to kill her? 7. Why would they even give the option to gas your allies! what good would that do? 8. Does Atton go with the exile to join Revan? Because it shows the 2 walking off together at the end, and did T3 go with them? 9. in KOTOR 1, did T3 go with Revan to the unknown regions, and did something happen to him? the holocron T3 shows says something that T3 would and if something "happens" he is supposed to go back to the republic and would find the exile. 10. Is there a way that the Serecco can attack the Exchange on Nar Shaddaa and win? 11. Can Brianna be a dark Jedi, or is that restricted to LS? 12. Were the GenoHaradan a planned feature of Nar Shaddaa and scratched or a alternate route "LS/DS routes" and eventually scratched from the game? 13. Was Nilihus a Character from Kotor 1? I've heard he was also called Carth at one point.
peedeeboy 23 Posted June 18, 2015 My personal opinions on a couple of these... 2. Is Kreia Brianna's Mom? They indirectly hint at this if you put 2 and 2 together but I just need some clarification. I think so. Chris Avallone replied "good catch" when somebody asked him if Kreia was Arran Kae (and therefore Brianna's mother) 5. Did Kreia kill the Jedi masters if you go LS, or did she just put them into a unconscious state by draining their force? When Visas looks at Kreia with Force Sight in the temple, she is proper DS. So I would say she kills them. 6. Did Kreia want the Exile to die? or did she want the exile to kill her? In my opinion, Kreia's whole motivation throughout TSL is to train the Exile to be able to go and find/assist Revan. This also gives her the opportunity to get revenge on the Sith who exiled her, and prove to the Jedi that they were arrogant, ignorant jerks - blaming her for Revan going DS. And good job too, or it would be a very short game! Unfortunately for Kreia, the Jedi are still arrogant, ignorant jerks. So she has to kill them to protect the Exile. I believe Kreia always intended the Exile to fight her as 'the final test'. She says very early on in the game (on the Ebon Hawk) that the final Sith Lord will reveal herself later. She always intended to go Darth Traya and have the Exile face her. She's a bit like the Oracle in the Matrix - she tells you what you need to hear. It might not actually be the truth.... There is a recurring theme in TSL of 'is it ok to do bad things if your overall intentions are noble?'. Was Revan right to go DS in order to win the war and save countless lives? Was the Exile right to ignore the Jedi and go to war? Was Kreia right to go DS in order to force the Exile to face her and complete the Exile's training? Sorchy's Let's Play is both incredibly informative (and hilarious!) about some of the plot nuances in TSL: http://lparchive.org/Knights-of-the-Old-Republic-II/ There is the mystery of the unused game assets of Atris as Darth Traya. My personal feeling is that it was the intention that if the Exlie had low INF with Kreia, that rather than break Artis, Kreia would goad Atris into killing her. Thus confirming Artis as Darth Traya ("there must always be a Darth Traya") and forcing the Exile to fight his/her former love..... seems like a very Kreia kind of thing to do
DarthTyren 103 Posted June 18, 2015 All my answers will be in yellow. KOTOR 3? 1. Is it plausible that Kotor 3 may still come out, and If so would it be remotely similar to the other Kotor series? Plausible, you ask? At this point, probably not. Essentially, the dreaded Revan novel was as close to KotOR 3 as we're going to get. SWTOR was a followup happening three hundred years after the events of the novel. Revan's story is finally wrapped up there. So if there were a possibility, it probably wouldn't be very similar to KotOR or TSL. 2. Is there some sort of "historical" preset they would have to follow, either from SWTOR or some other sort of media? in other words, can they just make up stuff about Revan or the Exile in the future? It would have to coincide with the "canon" they established, through the games, novels, comics, and SWTOR. 3. Is Kotor 3 worth making? I believe so, but there is the question of an outdated market, along with would It need a "reboot" of the story, making it too different to almost not even be considered a sequel. With the other two answered above, you should be able to think for yourself as to whether it's worth making. Don't let anyone else change your viewpoint. KOTOR 2 "spoilers" 1. The term "canon" is used a lot to describe the male exile/Brianna male Disciple female plots, what does that mean? Is there some sort of story Outside of Kotor 2 that describes the events of it? In existing "canon", as depicted mostly by the Revan novel, the Exile was a female named Meetra Surik, leaving gamers to believe that the Disciple, not the Handmaiden, joined in on the mission. "Canonically", however, they both adventured with and were trained to be Jedi by the Exile. 2. Is Kreia Brianna's Mom? They indirectly hint at this if you put 2 and 2 together but I just need some clarification. Interesting. I figured something fishy was going on. And lo and behold, after a search of this question, Chris Avellone answered this very speculation with "Can't comment, but good catch. Sorry." Apparently, he likes the phrase "good catch" to describe unintended insinuations that he likes, so it is very possible that, at the very least, she was meant to be. It is the only way a bit of the dialog in the game makes sense. 3. What happens to Bao Dur? I've heard he dies helping HK reach the Factory, but nothing in game suggests his death, but Atton does mention there both gone during the Telos battle. Was this originally supposed to be cut content? It's mostly understood that he either left the ship before it left Dantooine, or Bao-Dur escorted HK-47 to Telos surface. It is not understood that he survived, but at the end of the game when Kreia is looking into the future, when asked of his fate and the droids, Kreia answers that she could not read their futures. But, he was considered one of the Lost Jedi, so it's very likely that he eventually went back to Coruscant with the others and rebuilt the Jedi Order. 4. What are the HK's under HK-47's rule new targets supposed to be, and did HK-47 go "rogue" in a sense? Whatever HK-47 tells them And actually, he left on his own to try and find Revan. When Revan awoke from stasis, he found his droid and they worked together to produce results from the Foundry in SWTOR. 5. Did Kreia kill the Jedi masters if you go LS, or did she just put them into a unconscious state by draining their force? Every source, including the game, states that all the Jedi Masters died there. 6. Did Kreia want the Exile to die? or did she want the exile to kill her? The above post definitely shares the facts quite well, I don't see any need to elaborate further. 7. Why would they even give the option to gas your allies! what good would that do? One final DS/LS choice. 8. Does Atton go with the exile to join Revan? Because it shows the 2 walking off together at the end, and did T3 go with them? Atton went with the other Lost Jedi to reestablish the Jedi Order. T3 went with the Exile into the Unknown Regions to find Revan. 9. in KOTOR 1, did T3 go with Revan to the unknown regions, and did something happen to him? the holocron T3 shows says something that T3 would and if something "happens" he is supposed to go back to the republic and would find the exile. A couple years after KotOR, when Revan left for the Unknown Regions, he took T3 and HK with him. The Ebon Hawk was shot down on Nathema by a couple Sith, and Revan was captured. T3 scoured the planet for parts to fix the Ebon Hawk, then after repairing it, left for help. 10. Is there a way that the Serecco can attack the Exchange on Nar Shaddaa and win? According to the game's files, I believe not. I could be wrong. 11. Can Brianna be a dark Jedi, or is that restricted to LS? She can, you just have to be careful if that's what you want. It's hard to have a high influence on her if you're DS, and it's hard to have a low influence on her if your LS. 12. Were the GenoHaradan a planned feature of Nar Shaddaa and scratched or a alternate route "LS/DS routes" and eventually scratched from the game? Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe it was planned, then scrapped. 13. Was Nilihus a Character from Kotor 1? I've heard he was also called Carth at one point. Nihilus never made an appearance in KotOR.
Black_Rogue 1 Posted June 18, 2015 Thanks for the answers! really appreciate it. those where just a few lingering questions from my readings.
Sith Holocron 2,480 Posted June 19, 2015 Before you ask any more plot related questions, you might want to check out Scorchy's walkthrough. It's a very long read but well worth the time. It also predates the TSLRCM so you won't have that interfering with the story.
